My 3 are plenty enough for me. It's all I can do to keep from being tripped now when they try to do their figure 8 thingy around my legs when I'm trying to walk through my house. They make all the poop I care to scoop too. Love em as I do, they can be frustrating pains in my a** sometimes too.

I, along with a few others, feed the young cats that hang out at the convenience store in my Podunk town. They have litters of kittens faster than we can capture the females and males and have them neutered.

It really depends on where you live. If they are outdoor cats and you live in the country then you can have a lot of them before they start to stink the place up with cat piss. If you have indoor cats then you really shouldn't have more than 3 and thats pushing it.

As long as you can afford to feed and take care of them properly, then have as many as you like. So many animals need good homes with people who will love them and fix them.

Helly_Orchid that is very true. There is no excuse not to spay/neuter. If people aren't part of the solution then they are part of the problem.
My limit on kitties prob 2, don't have one right now but when I do it will be spayed/or neutered.
I won't be contributing to the pet overpopulation

Wow , I can't believe People have Kittens every Year and Don't care enough to have them Fixed,,, No wonder our Shelters are full because Pet Owners don't care.I t hurts all of us at the Shelter when we have to put the Dogs and Cats to sleep... If you can't take care of them don't get them simple as that...

7 seems a bit much to me. I'd be thinking they're conspiring to kill me. I have one, and two dogs. She won't conspire with the dogs because she thinks they're stupid, so I figure I'm safe.
