looks matter to people that need to lean on that to be who they want to be. you don't have to do that. if you lean on your looks you're in for a big disappointment as you age.

Women's looks and age matter in a male dominated industry. People can deny it until they're blue in the face, but it's true. There never will be enough women in management in the oil & natural gas industry to change that environment.

A woman's quality of work rarely matters. A few token women are advanced.

I've already aged in my career, not leaning on my looks.

People have always tried to improve their looks. Whether it is with makeup, exercise, diet and nutrition, or surgery, people will continue in that quest. What "God" didn't give, in many instances, science can.

Botox, collagen, biotin, implants, and hair replacement are just a few of the options that women and men may use in their fight against the tolls of time and diminished psyches.

There is nothing wrong with trying to remain as active, viable, and attractive as possible...

Active ..yes..

Viable and attractive ?

Okay...no.

Why ? To what end. What is the benefit ?

Fk I miss the days when it sas okay...to age..

It's an option, not a requirement!

If you don't want it, don't do it. Vanity is not a new occurrence. Powdered wigs and non-functional wooden teeth is clear evidence of that, and that was with men. Our "gauge of worth" has forever been shallow. It has never been "okay to age" unless there was no other options.

And forever, we have heard of so called Fountains of Youth. We haven't found them, but I'll be damned if we haven't continued a constant search for them...

Only from a certain ilk of human...

Yes..aging was okay by a broad section of society...

Even revered...

Again only a few...looked down at it...only a certain type of human did.

The issue now is that mindset has taken hold en mas.

And like lemmings to the sea...the masses have taken hold of such bs.

Viable equals useful if I am not mistaken ?

Only pretty ppl are useful ? Youthful ?

Worth any thing?

Might want to look at the top 10 in Forbes..

The perpetuation of looks trump all does not behoove our society..

The breaking down of women into body parts dsnt either..

Asking what a human has to offer the world other than looks..does.

Just an observation frm out side the box luv ..

I specifically mentioned instances of male vanity because I suspected that you might try to make it a gender issue and it's not. The top selling "vanity drug" in the world is VIAGRA. GNC sells more testosterone boosters than vitamins or protein drinks.

If "looking good" improves one's sense of well-being, then it is well worth the price. Perhaps not to you. Perhaps not to most. But there will always be a market for real or perceived self improvement...

I don't know why this bothers people so much. It's personal choice. It doesn't make someone bad.

I don't really care what others do. However it does bother me when some take it to the extreme, looking abnormal it being very noticeable. I think letting society views on aging affect, or dictate what's a normal process "aging" is sad. A little maintenance is one thing, wanting to look at 50 0r 70 like you did when 20ish or 30ish is absolutely ridiculous thing to try and achieve.

Stobil...obviously, she had changed since the last time you saw her...and in her mind wasn't the work of art she use to be.

I could be wrong, but the picture I'm getting in my mind is...a woman born with great looks and when you ad the make up, expensive hair styles and fancy clothes, was a work of art. Who probably never sweat a drop of sweat in her life, and all the rest that goes with that.

Who developed a few lines as she aged and went into panic mode and got all that done and maybe went overboard with it, because she couldn't stand the idea of facing the world with a few small age lines.

If so...that's not the type of woman, I'd ever want to be with and perhaps you were overwhelmed by her looks and not considering, that a guy would have to be a slave to her every whim to keep her...which is not an attractive feature.

Overwhelmed can be another word for blinded, and in this case it sounds like this definition fits the bill.

Today no woman wants to look her age, they all want to look younger. That way they can attract younger men for their ego boost and the thrill of doing so.

Just look at what the media and Hollywood is showing women. Not to mention the cosmetic industry. Every thing they see and hear is telling them to look younger, feel younger, and be younger.

I don't know about all of that...but the media, the movies and etc is putting out this image with tons of make up ...and I hate it.

Jeez, it looks like a bunch of trannies..with real women's bodies.

Way too much make up, and looks like shit to me...can't face the world without all that?

Get a life.

She sounds like a spoiled prime donna to me, who couldn't face the world without being perfect in her mind.
