President Donald Trump's team released its first full budget proposal on Tuesday, and while lawmakers are likely to dismiss most of it -- as they traditionally do with most White House wishlists -- the document provides fresh insight into the administration's priorities.

While the overall proposed spending is about on par with last year, at $4.1 trillion for 2018, the budget is notable for the knife it takes to domestic programs focused on science and research, the arts and, most notably, social welfare programs.
On the flip side, defense spending would be upped by about 10% and more than half of the increase in border security funds would be directed toward the construction of a "new and replacement" border wall.
Here is a rundown of the most eye-popping numbers to come out of Trump's first budget:

The Deep State - entrenched bureaucrats who fear losing their jobs.

Trump has made no secret of his intentions to reduce the size of the federal government, and panic is palpable in some of the targeted agencies. The reduction in the highly politicized State Department, which had been packed with Hillary cronies over the years, stands as an example.

http://www.denverpost.com/2017/03/02/federal-workers-layoffs-inevitable/

Eliminating civil servant jobs is difficult as they are protected by law, but one sure way is a budget cut wherein only those with seniority remain. Eliminating a group, or department, is another means. Meanwhile, the desperate leak info to the press.

100 feet is approximately the height of a 10 story building. There's not a wetback in the world with the cojones to climb that high.

SPEAKING of the WALL though.

BREAKING : GOP Push for Ingenious Plan to Fund Trump Wall

Well, looks like Mexico, and many other countries will be paying for Trump’s Wall after all.

A group of House Republicans just introduced a bill that will slap a 2% fee on all money immigrants send back to their homeland.

The concept of this plan has been discussed by President Trump in the past.

Awesome!

From Washington Times:

A group of House Republicans on Thursday introduced the first major bill to fund President Trump’s border wall, saying the government could collect billions of dollars by imposing a 2 percent fee on all the money Mexicans and other immigrants send back home.

Estimates vary, but remittances from those in the U.S. to their relatives back home could top $130 billion a year. A 2 percent tax could net more than $2 billion a year, if it applied to all money regardless of who’s sending it.

“This bill is simple – anyone who sends their money to countries that benefit from our porous borders and illegal immigration should be responsible for providing some of the funds needed to complete the wall,” Rep. Mike Rogers, Alabama Republican, said in a statement. “This bill keeps money in the American economy, and most importantly, it creates a funding stream to build the wall.”

Mr. Rogers and Rep. Lou Barletta of Pennsylvania are leading the effort.

Mr. Trump has vowed to make Mexico foot the bill for his border wall, but Mexican authorities have said they won’t play along.

Left without a funding source, the president has said American taxpayers will pick up the tab for now, and he’ll look for ways to soak Mexico in the long run.

When the NAFTA renegotiation’s are done, and the illegals are thrown out, money saved, (no teaching illegals, smaller class size. No treating illegals, no hospitals closing. No more illegals flooding our jails), will easily pay for basic wall.

No one thing will stop illegal immigration, and Donald Trumop knows that.
A wall, as part of a mutli-faceted plan to con trol illegal immigration, creates an essential deterent as well as a fixed impediment to those attempting to enter this country illegally.

The wall, combined with Human and electronic monitoring, aerial and surface patrols, and the presence of the U.S. Military placed in strategic locations along the border, can reduce the traffic in not only illegal aliens, but illegal drugs and weapons that currently flow, unimpeded accross the border from Mexico.

Knowing that it will take a 60% vote will allow Congressional Republicans the sqiggle room they need to play both sides of the debate for a show back home!

But! If they were to change the rules, they would line up like terrorists with bomb vests ready to blow themselves up with their yay votes!

If you actually look at his budget numbers, Medicaid, Medicare, and social securty spending goes up every year of his 10 year budget. The left has a problem with the definition of the word, cut.

To begin with, its a budget that would not only drastically cut support for the poor and sick, but also transfer massive amounts of wealth to the richest while at the same time reduce funding for the future by cutting research. The budget also assumes that cutting taxes for the wealthy will dramatically stimulate growth (which brings back memories of G.W. Bush’s policies of deregulation and tax cuts, i.e., huge deficits and a world banking disaster). And so much for "trickle down".

But from all empirical data and just plain common sense we know that this cannot work.

Other than this.... "based on what we know about this budget, the good news — the only good news — is that it was likely to be roundly rejected by members of both parties here in the Senate, just as the last budget was."

clear and cruel: Destroy federal research; deny food and health care to poor children; and ignore humanitarian needs abroad,” Cooper said. “Other than wealthy Americans expecting new tax cuts, it’s hard to find people who wouldn’t be hurt if Congress passed the Trump budget. Thankfully, every president’s budget is nothing more than a glorified wish list. I am especially happy this one is dead on arrival. Congress needs to start all over so America won’t be hurt.
Sen. Bob Corker, R-Chattanooga, also is raising questions about the president's spending plan.
“I appreciate the Trump administration’s attempt to cut waste and encourage efficiency, but we will never get our fiscal house in order until we take a holistic look at the federal budget, including Medicare and Social Security,” Corker said. “We can solve our fiscal issues without harming those who depend on these important programs, and I have offered legislative proposals toward that end.”
Five ways of budget impact
Five ways Trump’s budget would impact the state if approved:
$800 billion in cuts to Medicaid and block grants for states
The Trump administration is proposing more than $800 billion in cuts to Medicaid over 10 years, a move that advocates say would gut the program. The Trump budget also assumes that a House-approved bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act would become law, thus turning Medicaid into a block grant or per capita program for the states. Should that happen, benefits would likely be reduced, people would lose coverage, or both.
The budget proposal is a reminder that state lawmakers are nearly assured to have tough choices ahead of them regarding Medicaid funding and coverage in the coming years.
TennCare, the state’s Medicaid program, is among the lowest cost programs in the country so any cuts that get passed either through the budget or the American Health Care Act — the House GOP health care bill — might not be
