i ain't never begged a woman back for nothing.
ask the cali girl and others who know me.
when i walk and have to take care of business while they get on here and run me down.
that is what you call taking care of business by letting a b*tch yap about being a b*tch and the man does what the hell he chooses
and ain't a damn thing the woman can do about it

I had a few tonka toys but I liked mask, gi-joe n stompers! For you youngins that don't know what I mean by stompers! These were little battery powered cars that u could build a track n watch them run around on and at the time it was pretty cool! And we can't forget about the TRANSFORMERS!
It was a huge deal to have an Optimus prime truck n trailer! Were talkin like 1980s btw!

The way I see it, if they are best friends, and if she was attracted to him....they would be lovers, not best friends, and I wouldn't have had opportunity become her SO.
So, if she is trust worthy and not attracted to him, then there's not a problem.
But here's the thing...If someone is truly your So, then you two should be best friends. or also.
So, east/west....lets turn the tables here: lets say your So's best friend was a woman, and reasonably attractive, though that doesn't mean he is attracted to her.
Are you okay with that?

I think it depends on the person. My 1st husband said a man is never friends with a woman unless he is trying to have sex with her. So obviously, I wouldn't trust that type of person. But I've been friends with guys who never tried anything so its possible to only be friends. I think the key is being with someone you trust. If you know your so would shut down any advances if that ever happened, I don't see the problem. If the friend makes advances knowing there is a relationship, it time to end the friendship.

No friends with benefits for me, never really had one
I DO have 2 male friends that my husband is aware of. He knows I know where to draw the line, but my friends wouldn't cross it. I don't date married men, and my friends don't date married woman! We all have our own set of morals

Guys know guys...She would be forbidden from seeing him.
There is a certain type of guy in this world who spends months even years sniffing around women pretending to be their "bestie" praying for the day in a moment of weakness she'll give him some.
..those men are betas...they can't bag a woman using traditional manly methods...they have to be sneaky and sly about it...beta males basically...they are the Hyena of the predators...sniffing around for scraps and leftovers...
She will be banned from further contact from him or she can take a hike and be happy with her beta male kissing her ass.

Sorry to heear about your friend. Best wishes on your marriage.
Yeah, he's no threat. Threat however isn't the operative word, for me and I believe for the op, in this thread. The thread is asking guys how they'd feel about it. For me, I wouldn't like it one bit, whether or not the friend is handicapped.
Now if some other guy poster said they'd feel threatened, that's their issue.

Born in 74, toys used to be made of metal. I had a Tonka dumptruck that you could change the wheels on. I remember the commercial for it as well, showed and elephant standing on it.
I remember sneaking the car wax away from one of my mom's drunk bfs and waxing it. I loved that Tonka dumptruck.
I was born in 67 and yes the toys were much more rugged and interesting back then....my gawdddddddd you had to actually use your imagination to play....not like now where a lot of toys are electronic....

If he is gay no problem. If he is way prettier than she is and can have any woman he wants let them be friends. If a woman is going to cheat on you it's most likely going to be with someone who caught you completely by surprise anyway. Someone you'd never expect knowing how well many women cover their tracks.

This sounds like the husband doesn't give a hoot about her, and is probably cheating on her.
I was talking to a guy about a female friend of his. He said her husband was a bad guy. He would leave her alone to play cards with his friend. Would leave the yardwork for her to do. He was helping one day when her husband came home. He told the guy He was doing his job for him. The husband said thanks. The guy was clearly in the friend zone and the husband knew he had nothing to worry about because he trusted his wife.

I got no problem with it. If we committed then I already trust her, so no worries. I don't trust her, then we aint dating.
I asked my SO this question and this is how he responded, too.
My late husband's best friend was a woman. I had no problem with it. They'd been friends for decades and if anything was to have happened, it would have. But he chose me to be his wife and to commit to.
That said, I don't think many women have the same hopes in accepting the friend zone as do some men. I also think that some men want only to be friends. At least that's been my experience with a lot of the men I knew.

That's an interesting distinction. I think it's right, too. As I think back, a lot of the male friends I had weren't the kind who I'd go shopping with or talk to on the phone for hours. They didn't get my deepest thoughts. They didn't give me theirs. We may have seen a movie or two, or grabbed a bite to eat, or went out dancing in a sort of a group thing but it was always expected that it was a pay your own way, no expectations or awkwardness because there was no romantic interest on either part. It was a Friday night kind of friendship.

I have a friend who won't even have a male repair guy in the house if her husband isn't home. She thinks it's disrespectful to her husband. Some guy had to deliver and set up their new TV and I went over to be there, too, so she'd feel better.
Another friend whose BF had to meet me to determine that I was actually a woman, and a woman who would not lead his GF astray, before she could accept a ride to and from work from me. 7 months pregnant and he was OK with her taking a bus in the heat, or after dark as long as it wasn't some man driving her.
I think sometimes the fear of who your SO could know in their daily lives can go overboard.
