James Comey is an "appointee" -- not an ordinary employee -- and he was charged with the highest law enforcement job in America -- he observed law enforcement type irregularities and he made them known.

Every true American should be kissing Comey's cheek for covering our asses and keeping us protected from a traitor and tyrant.

Does anybody seem to know why Comey decided to break department policy and make a public recommendation to not charge Hillary?

What about the public statement to re-open the investigation?

What's funny is morons on twitter think somehow he owned Trump and are saying "where are you on twitter now, trump?" (or something similar to that). Chloe Grace Moretz retweeted such a comment. hahaha. They clearly didn't watch the hearing closely. I heard that even Chris Matthews admitted it caused their theory of collusion to fall apart.

Comey today stated that he gave memos and documents to someone to leak it to the media. And he said Loretta Lynch made him stop the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails. Shouldn't she then be charged with obstruction? He also said a few times that Trump was never under investigation.

Comey did not say that the Attorney General asked him to stop the investigation into Hilary's Emails.

He said, that when he announced to her that he was going to reopen the case to go through the Emails on Anthony Wiener's computer to see if any of them were "Classified", Loretta Lynch asked him to call it a "Matter" and not an "Investigation"!

You do make a good point about the "Obstruction of Justice" optics here.

There is no way the loyal Trump fans are gonna buy into that. Trump could rape his daughter or kill his wife and they would still be sucking up to him!

Trump used an old Mafia Indian trick to try and persuade Comey to drop the investigation by holding his job up for ransom.

After telling him there were many people wanting his job, and asking for his loyalty, he said, "I hope you find your way to drop the investigation of Mike Flynn".

In other words, "If you want your job, you'll drop the investigation"!

Trust me! Mueller knows all about backroom deals, Mafia tactics, and stiff-arm maneuvers!

Don't tarnish your integrity by feigning stupid because Trump is "on your team" (so to speak).

There is an objectivly more compelling narrative to justify the fact that he pressured Comey to drop his case against Flynn and Comey didn't budge.

No need to defend against that with ridiculous counter arguments or straw men: it still doesn't meet the razor-thin definition of obstruction of justice either way.

So yeah - the Teflon Don wins. No sense in acting complicit in the ridiculousness just because theres an R by Trumps name. Dems were wrong for riding him during the election and Rs are wrong for acting brand new on him now.

I personally think that Comey is an old style honest man, trying to maneuver this now toxic political environment (where you can apparently lose your job and be disgraced for not suckling the President' s testies.
