Just wanted to say, Steve Palermo passed away a few weeks ago.
Steve was an American League Umpire for many years.
Baseball could use more like him.If it was a strike in the first it was a strike in the ninth.
In my opinion the best ball/strike umpire I ever saw.
A true gentleman R.I.P.,Steve

Sad that he lost the ability to do what he loved for so long.
Hope that he finally found peace.

Didn't he help train umpires when he couldn't do the job anymore or supervise them? Seems to me he kept involved in whatever capacity he could for as long as he could.

He became supervisor of umpires..just saw to know to have a victim to safety he risked his body...in his day when he jumped he was always dressed like a fashion model...not a bad looking guy in his day in my opinion...they always said he was implecably dressed
