Amazon has been granted a patent to prevent people from online price checking in its physical stores. lol. They have screwed physical stores out of business and are scared they will have the same done to them, I guess.

Said like a true communist, anitmyb*tch! If you don't like the US then MOVE! Plenty of other countries to live in. I've heard Norway has the world's most regressive tax system. Maybe you'd like that better.

I'm assuming they're probably doing some sort of signal blocker on cell phones where they can't use them to check.

I just noticed they are apparently buying Whole Foods, as well. I guess I am glad because most likely they'll lower prices to get even more competitive.

I don't know why they'd need a patent for that. Others have done it before. Home Depot has free wi-fi service inside their stores, which is limited to showing you Home Depot stuff. I go into corporate offices all the time, and discover that they have internal controls in place , so that I can't access any sites they don't approve of.

And of course this IS yet another of the thousands of examples of why anyone who says that free market capitalism results in fair and honest marketing, is either a fool or blissfully ignorant, or even a paid propagandist.

I guess I am lucky. In my area there are no Whole Foods and I bet Amazon will not be building a brick store here. I research prices on line long before I set foot in any store. I know my price point and if it hits it, I buy. If not..the store can go jump. The only thing I wish was that you could check a store at the door to see if they carry the product and its price. I saw an item on line that Walmart carrys in store. So stopped and ?????Now where is the idiot place they would put it. Asked a clerk...??? She asked another one. Oh no way...not in this store...certain..havent seen it. The web says yes but it is no. So..hunted all over anyway. Not here, not here, not there. And then...there is was up front by the registers. The clerk had said if I found it he would pay me $1000. So my boarder who was with me went all the way back with one to show him. He said that was the problem with store, stock at night and no one in days knows. I said he should have demanded that grand. lol.
I long for the days when everyone in a store knew the whole store and wasnt the clerk of the hour!

I've got to the point where I hardly ever pay full price for anything, other than very few items. I know so well which items go on sale often and how low they get, etc.... and then I buy a lot of those items when on sale.

I forgot to mention about Whole Foods... the only thing I am worried about now is that Amazon may try to cut corners and end up having non-organic products claimed as organic or something.

Great, this reminded me I forgot to buy pretzels.... one of the few things I usually have to pay regular price on, and now I really am going to have to wait until tomorrow. Sigh.

An article stating that the Amazon purchase of Whole Foods is going to hugely change everything for consumers, in good ways, such as lower prices, and theoretically more Amazon perks. I hope it's soon that the changes take place! Maybe they will have promotions where you get Amazon gift cards etc...
