I'd like to think I would die for my faith and my country. Even most of the people in America hate their own country. Still, in other parts of this world if you protested your hatred of your country like they do here you'd just disappear and be shot and stuffed in the public latrine.

As a capitalist, I would die fighting to protect the capitalist system. I firmly believe that lazy people who do no productive labor of their own (i.e., capitalists) should live in luxury by raping the people who do all of the productive labor, the working-class.
And no I wouldn't personally fight and die protecting capitalism. We capitalists don't do that kind of thing. Instead I would send out select members of the working-class as our paid police and military men to fight and die for the capitalist system for me.

I would like to think all parent would.

Protecting children and our seniors is pretty high on my priority list and I would like to think that I would always put any child's safety and well being above my own.
Protecting their children is exactly what the capitalist rich are doing when they wage class war here at home and imperialist wars abroad.
Unlike working-class children, the children of the super-rich are born with an entitlement to a fabulous 7-figure income of their own. But with a subsequently ever-expanding wealthy-elite, where is all of that wealth going to come from to prop up their children with their own fabulous 7-figure incomes? They capitalist rich constantly have to acquire more and more sources of wealth and that means privatizing the public school system, driving down workers' wages, slashing programs beneficial to the working-class in exchange for tax cuts for the rich, and stealing lucrative global markets away from those who currently control them.

when I was growing up we were all roughnecks from the parents down. I remember hunting with my uncles and they would be joking and the moment we get to the hunting spot they would say, "run son, cause we are only giving you 50 yards." and then say, "we ain't joking."
but that is the game that seems will be played, if it ever gets to the point you mention between those with guns vs those without
