I'm in a pretty remote part of Minnesota. In my area they have been trying to fill about 5 openings for police/sheriff jobs for months.
Around here being a. cop is a cake job - not much crime. The pay for these jobs are all well over 100K/year. Still no one is willing to become "one of them".
If they had the chance to hire a minority they would. They can't find anyone to hire because most of us know how corrupt they are & don't want to be a part of "that group ".
Absolutely!  Nobody in their right mind would want to be a blue blood...

July 26 (UPI) -- Close to midnight on Sunday, Southaven, Miss., police arrived at the wrong house to serve an arrest warrant and shot a man dead in his own home, according to reports.
Ismael Lopez, 41, was shot dead late Sunday night after he checked to see who was at his front door. But the police were supposed to be across the street to serve an arrest warrant for Samuel Pearman, who was wanted on an assault charge, reported WREG.
"Someone didn't take the time to analyze the address," said Murray Wells, the attorney representing Lopez's family. "This is incredibly tragic and embarrassing to this police department that they can't read house numbers."
DeSoto County Prosecutor John Champion said it was "possible" that police went to the wrong house and confirmed that Lopez's name was not on the warrant.
"He was not wanted for anything at all," Champion said of Lopez. "I want to make that abundantly clear."
But police officers said they were forced to shoot Lopez when he opened his front door and his pet pit bull charged at them. Police said they opened fire at the dog and saw Lopez holding a gun from behind his door.
"One of the officers did fire a shot at the pit bull dog. While this was going on, they also noticed at the time that a gun was pointed outside the residence," Champion said. "At this point, the officers began hollering 'put the gun down, put the gun down,' at which point that did not occur and there were more than one shot was fired toward the door and there was a male subject inside the residence that was killed."
Speaking on behalf of the Lopez family, Jordan Castillo, 23, told the Commercial Appeal that Lopez's wife disputed the police version of events. He said police began firing through a closed door and that Lopez never picked up his firearm, which she said was found by police in the usual spot he always keeps it in the living room.
"She said when he got up, she heard the footsteps all the way up to the door, she heard the doorknob turn, and then after the doorknob turned it was just gunshots from there," Castillo said.
"Bullet holes suggest they shot through the door," Wells said.
According to Wells, Lopez had lived in the neighborhood for 13 years and worked as an auto mechanic for the city of Bartlett, about 23 miles away.
"The only time the police had ever been there was when they had been robbed," he said.
The officer who killed Lopez has been placed on leave during the investigation.

Report: Woman slapped police car before officer shot her
In an interview with investigators last week, one of the two Minneapolis police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Justine Ruszczyk said he was startled by a "loud sound" near the squad car.
Immediately after that loud sound, Ruszczyk approached the driver's side window of the car and was fatally shot by Officer Mohamed Noor, according to investigators.
A recently revealed search warrant may explain the source of that startling sound: a slap.
A woman presumed to be Ruszczyk was killed after she slapped the back of the police car, according to a search warrant obtained from Hennepin County District Court by Minneapolis Public Radio and the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension used the warrant to search the area where the shooting happened, Minneapolis Public Radio said.
"Upon police arrival, a female 'slaps' the back of the patrol squad," the search warrant states, according to Minneapolis Public Radio. "After that, it is unknown to BCA agents what exactly happened, but the female became deceased in the alley."
The new detail may help explain what led to the July 15 fatal shooting of Ruszczyk, a 40-year-old Australian bride-to-be. Ruszczyk had called 911 about 11:30 p.m. on that Saturday night and asked police to investigate a possible sexual assault in the alley near her residence.
A police squad car with officers Michael Harrity and Mohamed Noor arrived on the scene. Less than 30 minutes later, Ruszczyk died of a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
A number of questions remain about what happened in those moments. The officers' body cameras were not turned on and the shooting was not captured on the squad car camera, investigators with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said.
The shooting has roiled the Minneapolis Police Department, caused outrage in the United States and in Australia and led to the resignation of the department's police chief.
"This should not have happened," former police Chief Janeé Harteau said. "On our squad cars, you will find the words: 'To protect with courage and serve with compassion.' This did not happen."
Harrity and Noor are on standard administrative leave during the investigation.
Harrity, who was driving the vehicle, spoke with investigators on July 18. Noor has declined to be interviewed by investigators and his attorney did not provide clarification on when or if an interview would be possible.

V1300, the white Australian woman in her PJs under discussion here was not committing crimes like Brown and Treyvon were. Things like robbery and attacking cops and attacking night watchmen is a dangerous profession, it has its hazards, and Brown and Treyvon ran smack into one of its hazards. This White Australian woman did nothing to deserve the death penalty. V1300, are you the Black hoodlum up in Kentucky who was temporarily banned from DH for threatening to murder Trump supporters? I thought so. Most military men, by the way, feel they fought for our freedoms (you know, things like free speech), but apparently you didn’t. Don't you know that defending criminals make you a party to their crimes in the eyes of God?
If the person the cops kill is innocent, we are, I think, all on the same page, the cop should be punished, but don't punish a cop just for doing his job. In the case we are discussing, the killing was unjustified, it was murder.
