I'm in Minnesota. This cop is still kind of a rookie yet he's already had 3 citizen complaints about him.
He's another trigger happy cop.
Too many. cops these days are just not. cut out for the job. Period.
Ya can't be stressed out & jumpy if you're a. cop.
These people are. being given a badge & a gun without looking at their mental state of mind & their personality type.
These "police" are not suited for the job.
The cops are the tools of the ruling-class. If the ruling-class wants a more brutal and murderous police force (and they do), then they merely step back and allow the cops to get away with crimes that should put them in prison. The political body demands that the police chief tell officers to become "more aggressive" when dealing with the public. The police increasingly get the message.
I was just watching the news on this story and the reporter asked the mayor why the cops didn't have their body cameras turned on. The mayor didn't know. What wasn't even asked is if the cops will be terminated for not following proper procedure when they turned off their body cameras. The reason that question isn't even asked is because the ruling-class wants their police force to have the power to kill without any video evidence.
When the police step in to crush protest movements that are raging against the massive crimes being committed by ruling-class, the cops don't decide on their own to show up at those protests and crush the movement on behalf of the criminal ruling-class. No, no! They are instructed by higher-ups, who are themselves instructed by higher-ups. The demand for police to crush protest movements comes from the highest levels of the criminal ruling-class. The police do as they are told, not because they agree with what they're doing, but because they want to keep their jobs and pensions.
Capitalism is becoming increasingly ruthless. It's a return to a time when today's billionaires thought America was great. That's what is really meant by Trump when he talks about "making America great, again." He's talking about a time when capitalists raped us all into abject poverty and there wasn't a damned thing anybody could do about it. There will be no reduction in killer-cops and there will be no reduction in police violence short of a socialist revolution.

Yes what happened was wrong and senseless and if they did shoot an unarmed woman then they need to go to jail.
But not all cops are bad, for every 1 bad cop there 100 good ones out there putting their life on the line to help others. Its a tough, stressful, thankless job. And every time a stupid bad cops does something like this it makes things 10x harder for all the good cops out there.
I respect any person who serves whether its over seas or here at home.
Are there bad ones, yes, they're human, so every barrel us going to have its bad apple and they should be thrown away. But I truly believe that the majority of cops are good men and women trying to do an almost impossible job.

One of my best friend's nephew is a local cop!
We all hang out! We've discussed police shootings several times.
And let me assure you, my friend and his nephew are died-in-the-wool Republicans.
But, let me tell you what the policeman had to say about it.
He said, that he thinks the problem is the people hired to do police training in the Police Academies come straight out of the military. He said, people going through Police academies today are being trained to shoot first and ask questions later- because their own lives will be on the line- and that is the way the military trains soldiers in boot camps! 
He also said that, rookie cops are told in their training that Grand Juries are especially selected to have the backs of policemen, and that if mistakes happen, grand juries will always have their backs.
I was shocked to hear this. Most especially from a Republican that always seems to take the side of Police in these matters.
I think we may have just defined the problem we are seeing with police shootings today.
And that is policemen are being trained to be trigger happy cops!
The lady killed was the 547th victim killed by a police officer this year so far in America- and the 49th woman shot and killed by police this year!

I grew up in the heart of Minneapolis - so yes, I have friends of all races & religions.
Here, on this farm, in this. back assward town, there are no black people. Zero.
One morning I was headed off to work & there's a gas station where I get on the highway. That day there was a line all the way down the block waiting to turn onto the highway. I thought, must be an accident.
As I finally got. closer to the front of the line, I realize the "problem ". There was a "black man" pumping gas. Seriously!
I swear to GOD some of these right wingers have never been outside of this tiny racist town. They have the IQ of a turnip & zero common sense.
Yes Jinx, I have about 2 years worth of "fix ups" I'm planning for this farm, then I'm selling!!!
Most of Minnesota is liberal. I landed in one of the few places where I'm surrounded by idiots.
(That explains why the land was so. cheap! lol. I only moved here because I got the biggest house for the most reasonable price.)
Lesson learned!!!
When I move I will do it after an election cycle & scout out the area. before I. buy.
I'll be looking for an area that is dominated by democratic yard signs!

I still have my city friends. They know what a "goody 2 shoes" I am. I never do anything that would come. close to breaking the law. I'm always checking to make sure every single light on my car is in working order.
If I were ever gunned down by a. cop, trust me, you WILL hear about it. My friends will make sure of it.
I recently picked up copies of all the times the sheriffs have either harassed me or ignored me. I don't have those reports here. A. close friend of mine who lives in Minneapolis & is married to a judge is holding those records.
I can't stop a bullet but I've already made sure my untimely death would not go unnoticed. It's all I can do.....

It depends on the state or city and country. Here in Ohio we don't have a lot of these problems. The police are well trained and most are very well disciplined.
Our state police are some of the best in the country.
As far as military in law enforcement Ohio has become very selective about who they hire. There was a time when most of the country police officers were X military. That has tapered off a lot.

But, the flip of it is jerks, racists, egotists and cowboys are the ones applying. The training tries to teach,but if a jerk..cant win. There are too many bad apples ending up on the forces. And desperate cities are forgiving way too many incidents on a cop that is rogue. Oh here..we will punish you by putting you on a paid vacation. And then when the smoke dies down..back to your beat, punk.
I object to paid leaves like that. If ANYONE screws up..you are off work withOUT pay until we sort this out. Makes them think more. And if found innocent..THEN you get back pay.

Noor, who was herald as a hero just a couple of years ago for being the first one of his kind to become a police officer, has managed to get his peace loving self into a heap of trouble for previously abusing one woman, and now killing one. Muslims always seem to have an issue with women and when questioned about his homicide, he doesn’t see what all the fuss is about. In fact, he went as far as to ask for something else while the Damond’s blood is still fresh on his hands.
Noor is no stranger to controversy. He has already been sued before in his short career with the police department because of a May 25, 2017, incident where he and two other officers came to a woman’s home and took her to the hospital. The woman later alleged this act constituted false imprisonment, assault, and battery. According to the recently filed lawsuit, the officers claimed they had reason to believe the woman was suffering a mental breakdown which the woman and her doctors have adamantly denied.

Police are not releasing information fast enough on this one.
All we know is the policeman that fired the shot, dangerously shot it across and in front of the face of the other officer sitting in the patrol car, leaving him totally stunned and in shock as he was having a conversation with the woman with his window down and her standing outside of the vehicle.
So, most likely it was a shot that went off non-intentionally.
The policeman was a reckless idiot, that should have never had the gun off of safety in the first place. Should have never had his weapon drawn, should have not had a weapon pointed at anyone. Probably should have never been on the Police Force.
A result of poor police training!
A senseless and unfortunate death!
I sure as hell would like to know what happened, however we will only have the word of the two cops to go by. I can tell you that my gut tells me that the cop in the passenger seat has no business being a cop, if he is that frightened and panicky to be out at night that he pulls a gun in that situation then he in no way should have ever been a cop.
I know that over the decades the standards to be a cop have been lowered and lowered and lowered so that anyone that wants to can pretty much be a cop. Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings now in regards to gender, race, sexual orientation, size, intelligence, and on and on.
When I applied to the police academy 37 years ago there were 1200 applicants, only 30 positions, the testing was vigorous, mentally, physically. If you couldn't cut it, too bad, period, no bending the curve if you were too weak, too small, too stupid.

Yep! Pulling a pistol out inside a squad car can have bad repercussions!
The gun should have been on safety anyhow!

The 2 cops involved in this shooting haven't even had to give a statement yet?!?
From what I've heard in the past witnesses are supposed to give statements ASAP while all the info is fresh in their head.
Isn't that special! Another rule/law that gets to be overlooked.
Last week there was a security video (a home owner 's video) of a cop (in Minneapolis) coming into her fenced back yard & shooting both of her. children's service dogs.
Looks like we're headed back to Murder-appolis - at the hands of those who are supposed to "protect & serve".
Some people aren't meant to play with guns.
