WHY?

We spend more than we take in which makes DEBT. Simple as that. It goes back to Wilson in 1914. It all starts with him and the Populists and James Weaver, Wm J Bryan who wanted an income tax. Before you couldn't spend like crazy because the federal government was funded by the tariff. After the income tax the federal government could spend like crazy and if they ran low........ why they merely raised taxes! The problem here is spending more money than you take in.

If you have an income of 3000 a month and yet spend 5000 what will happen? You have to declare bankruptcy and people will mock you and say it is your own fault which it is.

If the federal government does the same thing they borrow money, increase the debt ceiling and raise your taxes and the people say it is good and blame conservatives and Republicans. This is why I am conservative. We need to bring back fiscal sanity to government at all levels! Federal, State, County, City and Special Districts. If YOUR money is going to be wasted shouldn't YOU be the one to waste it? I say YES.

Ultimately it's all worthless and relies simply on the concept of it representing goods or services.

Quote from easttowest72:
Im sure the feds will be going up on interest rates soon. How that control inflation I don't know

There are many different ways that rising interest rates affect inflation, most is directed at keeping wage inflation repressed. Capitalism actually loves inflation just as long as wages aren't rising. They will even tell us all that they are targeting 2% inflation even as they are outraged at even the suggestion that wages be indexed to inflation.

The current need to raise interest rates has nothing to do with inflation, rather it is an attempt to restore some kind of balance to capitalism from years of ZIRP. The banks want higher interest rates. The Fed wants to dump its huge QE holdings. And capitalism is desperate to reload for the next crisis. As things currently stand, of course, the next crisis can't be rescued by cutting interest rates.

In your own industry you have a perfect example of how raising and lowering interest rates affect inflation in different ways. Lower interest rates increase property values. For homeowners, this means that more money can be borrowed against their home for a host of projects and other items. My ex-wife, for example, took out a second mortgage and bought a boat.

The rising property values associated with low interest rates means that rents increase. That means that the slashing of interest rates to bail out the richest capitalists and the capitalist system also becomes a massive redistribution of wealth from the underclass to rich capitalists.

Another effect of interest rates on inflation in the housing industry is that when rates go up, people who have bought at or near the top of a rising-prices market with very low interest rates will have a very hard time selling as higher interest rates make mortgage payments out of reach for more and more people (many of whom have seen their wages stagnate of go down for years. This, in turn, means home values will begin to first stagnate and then decline.

If you think they are going to be able to raise interest rates, and hold those rates higher, then you should consider dumping your properties. Personally, as things stand now, I don't think they have a prayer of holding interest rates at any substantially higher level. But who knows what changes may occur in the world in the medium to longer term?

Rents are going up about 5% a year...so if you are thinking of increasing it by $300 that would mean you are renting the place for $6000 a month..that must be some nice property.

Well what was the growth in rent over those 5yrs in your area? find out that % and then charge her that, coming up with an arbitrary figure without knowing that is open to dispute.

Yada, yada, yada. You're just making excuses. Most people who collect welfare can come up with all kinds of good reasons why doing so is their right, too.

It doesn't matter if you worked and scrimped and saved and then one day became a disgusting, parasitic, worker-raping capitalist or if you inherited the properties (like most capitalist do) and just continued on in your parents footsteps as a disgusting, parasitic, worker-raping capitalist. The end result is exactly the same as if you were collecting welfare. You don't work, rather you sit on your lazy, fat a** and collect a paycheck by legally stealing from people who do work. That's just a fact, and everybody reading this knows it.

You could have your own home. Why Don't you? Because you're irresponsible and think the world owes you a living. Everything should be free to you. Instead of b*tching about your landlord get out and buy your own home.

Pew report: 84 percent of world population subsists on under $20 per day
By Andre Damon
11 July 2015
World Socialist Web Site

Excerpt:

Despite significant advances in communications, agriculture and bio-technology over the past 15 years, the overwhelming majority of the world population continues to live in economic privation, according to a report on global incomes published this week by the Pew Research Center.

The report, entitled “A Global Middle Class is More Promise than Reality,” classifies 71 percent of the world population as either poor or low-income, subsisting on less than $10 per day. The report concludes that 84 percent lives on less than $20 per day, or $7,300 per year, an income level associated with “deep poverty” in developed countries.

Only seven percent of the world population lives on what the report calls a “high” income level of more than $50 per day, or $18,000 per year.

Quote from easttowest72:
They had their own home for 26 years. But just like you they couldn't balance the budget. Im not a financial advisor and they are older than i am. Some people can't handle responsibility.

You could have your own home. Why Don't you? Because you're irresponsible and think the world owes you a living. Everything should be free to you. Instead of b*tching about your landlord get out and buy your own home.

"It's not my fault. Society is forcing me to be a welfare-queen."

You sound exactly like somebody on welfare trying to explain why it's their right.

The fact of the matter is that, exactly like people on welfare, you don't work, rather your income is derived by looting from people who do work.

"Almost all of the world is capitalist, and almost all of the world's people are poor." -- Michael Parenti

Um no it isn't...most of the world is water.

Micheal obviously didn't study Geography

..and no one is poor when they have loved ones

you should tell them 6 months ahead of time that the rent for the next lease period will be going up by 10% for a 12 month contract or 15% for a 6 month lease.
