I know how to cook really well. I would cook for my girlfriend if I had one, kids if they're hungry, but when it comes for cooking for siblings, ugh. I get like so lethargic and make up stories that get me off the hook to cook for them. Everyone loves my cooking but I hate cooking for people, in general.

Thoughts?

Some peeps just don't enjoy cooking, me thinks. I hated cooking when my kids were small. with five mouths, I didn't enjoy nor did I have any time to put into a nice recipe. But now, I LOVE doing it... and even grew a few veggies, myself, this year for better ingredients. Not saying, I'm any better a COOK, but now I ENJOY learning all about it.

Reading through site, and observing postings by the "Young and Unprepared" they had better learn to cook and begin practicing their culinary attempts or they are going to starve to death before they find a fast food store.

I've heard a few women said they would never cook or even learn to cook. If they got married the man would do the cooking. That's pathetic. I love cooking but I wouldn't cook for that kind of woman if she was dying of hunger.

Quote from Lil_Miss_Tia:
Too many guys use it as an excuse to get out of treating his girl. I agree with OP, it's pathetic.

Why can't she treat him to dinner outside the house too?

Or do we change everything in society, except what benefits women highly?

As far as me, I did have most women treat me to a Dinner on the town enough times, but not all men ever get that.

anyway...cooking is pressing buttons and has been for decades, so any moron can cook, in fact I've done my own cooking, laundry and everything else for years....housework is the easiest work, I've ever done and its in the comfort of your own home to boot.

There was a time when a woman had to get the wood fired up in the wood stove first, then let it simmer down some before the food could go in or on it...then constantly be there to make sure everything was right...then after dinner, they boiled water to wash the dishes with and might have to haul the water in from the well or creek...a two hour hard work process...this even in the 1930's rural places...plus it took all day to do the housework, because they didn't have modern devices and appliances.

Personally I think that made for better women and better in how they appreciated men and the hard work that they do, and etc, because they had to be raised in a way to do these things.

Starting with my generation, they were raised like spoiled only children, because they didn't have to go thru being raised to cook and do housework like that anymore and literally did nothing while growing up and that's when women started becoming so self centered and expecting men to be the ones to do everything for them, and use men like some sort of commodity and not treating them very well.

Women in other countries at that time were still antiquated in housework, because their countries were still recovering from being bombed out in WW11, and they didn't have all these modern ways of doing things....and why they treated men better longer than here.

Here's my lazy man's cheap extend-a-soup recipe.

1.) Break up noodles in package of Ramen Noodles using can of chicken noodle soup and put contents into large bowl. Remove and discard salt/seasoning packet.

2.) Open and empty can of chicken noodle soup into bowl.

3.) Add 1 1/2 cans of water.

4.) Microwave for 2-3 minutes.

Now...that's man cooking at its finest!

It's hard to get enthused about cooking for just me. So I take the lazy way out. Cook a meal I can eat for dinner and as leftovers two or three nights in a row. I do this about once a week. The other meals are simple three item meals with maybe one meal from a restaurant each week.

My grandkids love my cooking

Back when I was married, my ex did most (not all) of the cooking for a few reasons.

1) He was super picky
2) He enjoyed it
3) He got home first

as far as cleaning went, we either did it together or if he had to work on the weekend I did it

ETA: I hate cooking just for me, so I normally just don't eat diner or fix something simple

Its very easy to cook. For people who don't master the culinary arts of cooking, tells you that they're either, stubborn, lazy, controlling, and don't have a permanent survival skill set. You will not survive..eating outside food more than half the time isn't healthy for your well-being. Ignore the graded health inspections, even if it is graded A+. It's still not healthy. A home cooked meal is the most highly recommended preference for ALL pedestrians. I would use statistical facts to provide some clarity, but I don't want to start a debate at this time. But of course, I'd get quoted anyway, so take whiff at it, if you may.
