Does anyone really think being able to field dress a moose and manipulate government agencies, in order to help out her sister's hurt feelings over a divorce, qualifies her for vice president. lol I'm a woman, a lesbian woman for that matter, and I would not change my vote just to get a woman in as vice president. I want a woman I can be proud of, not a woman who has to get by on her looks.

The fact is, I can dress a deer as well as any man and I have lived where I could see another country {Mexico}.
I also have executive experience,, I ran a business..
Dang! I think I should at least be able to become Governor of Texas!

They went shopping for an set of breasts who is also a Christian zealot and they found their dear Sarah.
As an informed and educated woman, I am embarrassed and insulted. She is a "cute girl" who men can fantasize about and who can whip up the Christian right.
Sad and pathetic attempt at manipulation of their party.
I can name 20 more qualified women who he could have selected. He wasn't looking for quality. He wanted razzle dazzle.
A fine example of McCain's impulsive, shallow decision making style, don't ya think?

Hey gang, get ready. It's gonna be a hoot Thursday night - when Sarah (my red swimsuit's too tight)Palin takes on Joe (kick a** & take names later) Biden.
I hope Palin is practicing the "deer in the headlights" look she showed Katie Couric when she was asked to name some(any?)John McCain financial regulation proposals.
When Couric pointed out to Palin that her zero experience in foreign travel makes her appear to be non-interested in the world at-large, Palin spluttered out some babble about her parents not giving her a backpack or sending her abroad after she graduated college - and that she "usually" worked two jobs before she started having kids. Say What? Hey, I didn't even graduate college, and I've been to six foreign countries. And, I was holding down a job and raising two kids while traveling. Give me a break!
Here's a news flash for you Sarah - if you'd have joined the military, Uncle Sam would have given you a backpack - and would have sent you out to see the world free-of-charge.
But, seriously folks, Palin can point to experience in taking the "3:00 a.m. phone call". Just the other day, her phone rings at 3AM, and she says: "Hello...what? Yes, that needs to be taken care of immediately, and I'm on it. Hey, Todd, get your butt in gear - there's a moose stuck in the trash barrel again!"
No how, no way, no McCain/Palin.
Vote for the two candidates who are using more than two of their brain cells: Obama/Biden.

It's funny to think the Republicans, if they can smear Obama and get out the racist vote to get their candidates elected,
are going to wind up with a woman President, as McCain is too old and sickly to stay the course. And we are not
talking Margaret Thatcher, or are we????? Palin is a cardboard figure, a true puppet of the rich and right wing.

I am really touched by the last sentence of this post, and that is true,I have been looking at what made such a human being to be a governor in US,am from Nigeria west Africa, but I don't think this type of mistake will be made there, but after reading this post,I can see the reason. She is really a puppet of the rich.
By the way I should congratulate her anyway for rising so high but she is so dumb that she cannot represent American women well I know that American women are smater than that(Atleast those I have met can Answer simple questions when interviewed).Who will want to be a Political Leader in the world most coherent democracy without granting many interviews,I dont know.
This morning they have started rumour that the moderator of thursday's debate will be bias cos she is Obama supporter.Mccain is disappointing everyone. It have gotten to a stage where I nearly suffer heart attack whenever Sarah Palin is interviewed.God Bless America

Really? Real?!?
The RNC made damned sure she wasn't real. They spent $150,000 to style her and make her look like a fashion plate.
A hockey mom! A Walmart mom! Give me a break!
Her suits are custom-fitted. Her nails are perfectly polished. Her hair is very well colored and her make-up is perfect. Her PFM pumps are shiny and new. (Please tell me you know what PFM pumps are: "Please F**k Me pumps")
She is a fiction. But she has captured the "hard on" vote. They think she's hot and they want her on their TV screens.
Unbelievable!

Sarah Palin is real alright - real nuts. I wouldn't object to the RNC laying out great gobs of moola for her wardrobe, if she wasn't trying to pass herself off as "one of the common folk", and railing against "elitist Obama" and "the elitist media". Yeah, right - meanwhile she's dressed up in Neiman Marcus originals. And, why was it necessary for the R's to buy the expensive baby togs for Trig to wear at the convention? Trig isn't running for office. It's been revealed that she went back and altered records of expenditures for her husband and kids who accompanied her on trips as Governor. Hubby and the kids weren't invited on these trips, but she charged the state taxpayers for their tab. What she went back recently to add to the records was notations to make it appear as if the "First Family" had been invited to these events. Others who were present at these events said they were surprised to see Palin's whole family show up, as they had not been invited. Hmmm, can you say "falsifying documents"? She looks for "pro-American" communities to visit, as if there are "anti-American" communities up to no good in our nation. Let's look out for the "commies" - they could be lurking anywhere - at least in Sarah Palin's mind. Thank God the tide has turned in this country, and the majority is not buying Palin's snake oil. I voted early yesterday, and I voted a straight Democratic ticket. When the election returns start coming in, I'll be singing: "Here Comes The Sun"

I am a long-time liberal, feminist Democrat - in fact, I am so old I actually marched for the Equal Rights Amendment in Wash., DC! lol What a sight! 1000's of women, dressed in white, marching by state!
But to Sarah Palin: nominating her was an insult to thinking women AND men! Was this a Karl Rove idea? One more insult to the intelligence of Americans? I am sure there are many experienced, intelligent Republican women they could have chosen instead of this bimbo. This woman cannot even string together an intelligent sentence in her supposedly native language! And wasn't she a journalism major? lol
I'm betting John McCain has been sick at heart at this mistake...especially when he sees so many prominent Repubs coming out for Obama. And I almost feel sorry for all of the Repub talking flaks that have to try and defend this woman...they must be very angry to have to say anything nice about her.

Wow, Eugenia, you go girl! I'll bet that equal rights march was awesome. I've done some marching (informational picketing)in support of unions, and it's a great experience. From all reports I've seen, it was John McCain's idea to pick Sarah Palin. He thought what he needed was someone who would "excite the Republican base" of neocons and religious extremists. She did excite that base, but didn't stay "on message". It's come to light from McCain campaign insiders that Palin has an agenda to promote herself, and hasn't been following the scripts being given to her by her handlers. Also, her stupidity about government hasn't helped the campaign, either. I believe McCain made two fatal errors in picking Palin: 1) He greatly over-estimated the impact the Republican base would have on the outcome of the election, and 2) He failed to carefully check out Palin's background and personal aspirations. There are reports that Palin has already "chucked off" the election, and is in negotiations with various entertainment reps to solidify a place for herself in the entertainment industry after the election. I don't know if it's true that she's already in negotiations, but I won't be surprised if, in the not too distant future, she lands her own radio or TV show. She's going to come out of this with some kind of sweetheart deal for herself, you can be sure of that. Some McCain campaign insiders are now referring to her as a "Diva", and I think that's an accurate description.

Thanks, Coolchick! I also marched in DC for a ProChoice rally - what I most remember about that is trying to find a restroom...when my g.f. & I found one, the line was about 50 women long....Jane was so desperate, she led an 'assault' on the men's room! lol I was right behind her & other women followed us! The guys already in there weren't too pleased! What can I say! WE were relieved! lol
I know John McCain was originally looking at Joe Lieberman, Mitt Romney & Tom Ridge...and no matter who's idea it was, McCain DID make the final decision...and I'm betting he is seriously regretting that decision!
Have you ever read Huffingtonpost.com? They had a short article on there today that mentioned that Palin was starting to rebel! With luck, she'll make more awful statements! lol You would think that even if they had simply talked to her they would have quickly headed in another direction. OR...they had a simply arrogant and ignorant view of the American public in general & American women in particular about what qualities we want in a Veep candidate.

Dear Taylorpetty....as for what I have taught my child, it is this...
1st Tolerance - and understanding and respect - for the differences we have in this country and the world
Live & let live - meaning allow people to choose their way based on their values, NOT my/our values
Worship whatever you believe as your higher power, IF you believe in a higher power - and do NOT expect everyone to believe as you do, or practice as you do
Respect education - and learn what this country is about across the spectrum and what our history says about us as a people
Understand the fundamentals of this country, i.e. the CONSTITUTION, and not how you think the country's blueprint oughta look like
Allow a woman the right, yes the RIGHT by law, to make decisions for her own body
My dear, I am a feminist to my core. And Sarah Palin is an embarrassment to me and most of the strong, intelligent, hard-working, critically-thinking women I know.
If you want a woman to respect and admire, I can name at least a dozen who you would enjoy admiring.
Sarah Palin does not deserve that admiration. She's a mental lightweight and should go back to the frontier where she can wink and bullshit her way through.
Peace, Pam

Taylorpetty, you only quoted one person's posts. I agree with Pam, that Sarah Palin isn't a good female role model for women interested in politics. I don't see that any of the posts on this thread qualify as hate speech. I think most have been accurate in what has been pointed out about the problems with Palin running for VP, and some have been humorous. If you admire Sarah Palin, I respect that. We're all entitled to our opinions and our vote.

Tayloparty....i refuse to agree that this is sexist......Most of us here voted for Hillary Clinton..........It is not that Sarah Palin used the general words but the problem was that She used words that are not part of her....You need to hear Sarah Palin Talk Spontaneouslly .......you will know that she is not Dumbass or a moron ...but the mccain campaign workers rubbished her....also she is not into American politics...she does not know much about American Politics...so she need to work on that.
Talking about attacking Sarah Personally....I may not buy the idea of attacking her personally but incidentally she started it.........She made case of Obama's association...which she defines as someone that he sat on the board with....that is definitelly nonsense to me....then it comes down to what she was told to say....i dont believe that was her view

Yes, Pamela, you're right. I caught a little bit of news about "Wailin Palin" and the documentary. The filmaker said he wanted to show how the media was unfair during the election - especially to poor Mrs. Palin. Oh, boo-hoo. Here's another joke - she says now that she gave screwy answers on purpose during the Katie Couric interview - because she knew she was being set up. What????? As Bugs Bunny used to say: What a maroon.
