My sons are grown and on their own now. I didn't have a prob dating but didn't have alot of time for it neither. If they didn't want to date because of my sons, I had no prob with it. But.. were many who didn't mind it

Yea!!!, It was awful at first because you have a circle of friends that knows you as "part of a couple". You get hit on by her friends that you never knew had an interest and even some ex-inlaws. Kind of uncomfortable and wierd . The hardest but best thing to do is to go out into the world and find new social circles, new people and environments. That really opens things up in a fresh way.

I have a ten year old daughter and it is a problem to find the time to date sometimes. You have to try and balance your responsibilities with your needs in life. It can be a problem.

It best thing I did was to understand I can not do it myself like I have always done every thing else in my life. I asked for and received help from friends and family. Build the support group that will be there when you need them and life will get a lot better. Both for you and your child.

I've got a 13 year old son, I've got sole custody, too.

makes it very hard to find dates. balancing work days, home work, house work plus taking care of your mother (leukemia and lymphocitic cancer) - makes it nearly impossible to have a date.

I do get a night to myself every once in a while, which helps a lot!!!!

I've been a single parent 24/7 since I was pregnant. I didn't date again until a year ago, and man is it hard.

I've only introduced my son to 2 men, and other then that he doesn't notice a difference. I am very lucky to have a brother I'm very close to who has joing custody of his 4 kids and we kinda take turns watching each others kids, since we are both trying to date.

But no it isn't easy to be honest with you.

My daughter is 12 and let's see I've probably went out on 4 dates in 12 years, and I'm not the type to go pick up men and bring them home either - but she's getting older so I'm ready!!

Yes, I find it very difficult to "date". Actually, I don't expect to date because of the difficulties. Not only is it difficult for me to find a sitter for my kids, but when I do, it is a teen from church, so I sorta have a curfew. I mean really, I can't come home even as late as 11 and expect to be able to get her home. My kids are in bed around 930 or 10 on the weekends as long as they have "earned" the right to stay up. So what am I going to do? Wake the kids to bring the sitter home? Or leave the kids home alone while I bring the sitter home? Catch 22. I would rather go on a date without my kids knowing I am going on a date, but at the same time, I feel like I am back at home with my parents' with a curfew!
