I have in the past when I had a place to do it...
I sold the house about 10 years ago and hav been full-time RVing ever since.
I had a bunch of mulberry trees in the back yard and I made about 100 gallons of mulberry wine every year for about 15 years.
I had a couple of bee hives so I also made mead (honey wine).

In your fermentation tank:
Mix equal parts of honey and RO or distilled water.
Add yeast.
Allow to ferment.
You can vary the ratio of honey:water to suit your taste.

It tastes like diluted honey - with a kick.
The alcohol content varies with the yeast strain and can be as high as 16%.

"It tastes like diluted honey - with a kick."
I belive it is refered to as "Mead" wine.
Dad use to use anything that fermented. He had a bbl of grape that he had tested for alcohol content came out at 56 proof, still have a few jugs from 1964.
His Homebrew was 12%

I made wine out of the fruit that fell from my Golden Plumb Tree. I have never seen Golden Plumbs but that is what I had. It tasted like ambrosia from Heaven. Everyone wanted a bottle and I gave many away. Then after about 6 mos. I noticed a white skum building up in the bottles. I thought it might be Botchilism or poisenious so I dumped them all out. Sorry about my spelling. I later read about a pill that you can buy to put into the wine so it won't go ransid. I can't remember the name of it Caldon or Cal something. In your recipe you did not put anything in your wine to stop it from going bad or did you just leave it out of the recipe or how do you keep your wine from going bad, Or do you drink it so fast you don't have to worry about it going bad?
I noticed after about 3 months that it started tasting different and I got an upset stomach and a headache from it. But when it was fresh I just felt a tingling in the back of my neck/head. Did I do something wrong. I used fast acting yeast and tons of suger mixed with the fruit. I put on the Baloon. In 5 days I strained everything out and left the Baloon on for about 4 weeks, strained every week, then bottled on the 5th week as the Baloon was down. It tasted more like the Desert Wines you buy like Liquior. Plumb Liquior. What did I do wrong.

The pills you put in the wine are called CAMPDEN tablets they kill any unwanted germs that may be in te carboy(fermentation tank),also if you use brewers yeast it is not as pure as wine makers yeast and sometimes it will continue to ferment even after you bottle it and that causes it to turn to vinegar.
Also you need to make sure to keep the carbon dioxide out of the mix I use a tapered rubber plug with a hole in the center and a rubber hose in that hole sumbmerge the free end of the hose in a jar of water, this will let the excess carbon dioxide to bleed off but will not let air in the fermentation tank.
I currently have 12 liters of red plum wine aged 2 1/2 years and 14 liters of elderberry wine aged 3 years.

Here is another one. Hornet
Anyone have a pumpkin in storage that needs to be used? Here is a way to use it, AND get a little on the GOOFY SIDE
Take a good sized pumpkin, about a 25 or 30 pounder.
Cut around the top, like ya was makin a Jac-o-lantern, Lift off the lid, sit it aside.
Add: 5 lbs. of sugar
1 pkg. yeast
Fill to top with water
Take the top and put it in place, seal with tape(any kind)
Put the pumpkin in a black garbage bag and hang it in a warm spot for a week or so, till you can feel that it would be easy to poke your finger through the shell near the bottom.
Put a small whole in the garbage bag, sit a clean bucket or crock under the hanging pumpkin and poke your finger, a knife, etc. into the pumpkin and let it drain out into the bucket.
let your wine sit over night to settle(cover it)
siphon the wine into bottles, taking care not to disturb the dregs in the bottom of your bucket,
SOUNDS STRANGE, BUT ACTUALLY TASTES LIKE A EXPENSIVE DRY WINE, not like pumpkin

I made 8 gallons of Blue Concord Grape Juice and it turned into wine.
I cooked my grapes down and strained off the juice. I had added 1/3 water to 2/3 juice. The grapes were sweet so I used a cup of sugar per gallon.
I had never drank before, but I had always said, "If God turns my water into wine, then I will drink it!"
Sure enough, my juice turned into wine!
This is the only time I have turned water into wine!
It was delicious and YES I drank it!

I would love to do this, but the town I live in is dry. I don't ever drink , but some of my family does, and it would make a great Christmas gift, homemade wine from their little sis, lol.

Is there such thing as a mango dessert wine? I have tried sweet cherry dessert wine and I loved it. Very sweet and tasted of cherries. I was just wondering if you could do the same but with mango's one of my favorite fruits.

Mango should make a very good wine. I love mango anything, but would be costly to buy enough mangos to make a batch. Seed and skin should be removed. A champagne-varietal yeast will yield a higher alcohol content. Yeast dies and fermentation stops once a certain alcohol level is reached.

When I was a teenager I thought I could make my own wine. I tried to do this because standing outside the liquor store waiting for a ""cool""person of legal age to purchase our Boones Farm or Ripple got to be time consuming and expensive ,what with the bribe and all.
So me and my equally brilliant friends decided we could concoct our very own label using Kool Aid and Fleishmans yeast. We placed this mixture in a cool dark place(in the garage behind some boxes)and waited about a week. It didn't look at all appetizing but we strained it and somewhat solemnly drank it. Needless to say we were standing outside the liquor store that night.
I am interested in making my own spirits but I think I'm going with beer.
