most of you people out here are not so nice, and i hope you children and family members didnt teach you to be rude, sic, unpolite to others that are only trying to save your lives by doing Gods will, what do you have to loose? you already know u will get old and die, and maybe die before your time, but if you put a little bit in being nice to others, and God is real, then they might say a good word for you all, but you say things and do things to us that normal people woulnd even do to there own familes, so sad your group is, so sad. Im not saying u must change, thats up to you all, just saying be kind to other humans.
I guess that's why the world is getting worse with people that act like most of you. i know one thing, if evolution was real, i can see the ape in you people, so just at least be kind, and if you dont want JW's coming to your door, just act nice and tell them put u on the dont bother me list, and for about 6 months or a year they come back just to see if you changed your mind about God or if you moved and some one else lives there. you now, it could be worse. people like u could come to your doors, or like the ones who blow up the towers in NY, or,.. well, look around lot of sic people out there could come to your doors,..God forbid. SO look in the mirror and ask your self? what happen to mysel? cant i play nice with others? this a rhetorical question by the way.

I don't know about the JW's but the Mormons are not supposed to turn down a gift. One hot summer day they came buy as I had just finished pulling out all of my strawberry plants. Not wanting to throw away the plants, the timing couldn't have been better. I offered the plants (5 five gallon buckets full) to the two young men. Not only did they take the plants but they swept my walkway free of soil as I enjoyed a cold beer. They have yet to return, and I was very pleased my berries found a new home.

I did that years ago! I lived out in the country and was sitting at the computer and happened to look out and see a cpl coming up my drive with babbles in hand. I quickly stripped naked and waited for them to knock on the door. When I came to the door and opened it,,,,,,,the look on their faces was worth a million! As they turned and started walking away, I asked won't you come in and talk with me! At that, they started running away fast.

I kept a black robe and a candle I painted black close at hand. When I saw them coming, I would put on the robe and light the candle. When they knocked I would answer the door and tell them how fortunate is was they arrived just then that I needed one more person for the ritual!!

I just answer the door in the nude holding a gallon of milk in one hand and a blender pitcher in the other. While blocking my doorway, I politely ask them if they would like a milkshake. I make sure to lean toward them and whisper, "they're chocolate" in a lewd and enticing manor. If they choose to accept the invitation, I begin to yell, "Oh, Dear but I'm all out of CREAM!" while leaning back and pouring the gallon of milk over my chest.
~I've never actually done this, of course... but I think I may.

I actually dated a JW for a brief period of time. She was at the same time very serious about it, and not serious about (she loved sex and she was married but seperated). She talked to me about things but soon grew frustrated with the whole debate as she could not counter any of my arguments.
Weirdly, she is still loyal to that church even though they dis-followshipped her for having a life. Which they would not have known about unless she told them.
Anyway, the only time any JW's came to my door in recent history I just smiled and told them it was not for me and they have not been back to bug me.
But, I have to tell you that one time back just after I graduated HS, they came to my door early one morning. I had been out the night before so I was quite hungover and had the bed head and the whole look of someone who has been rode hard, drug through the mud and put away wet. They looked shocked at me when I answered the door as I imagine I was quite a sight. I told them in my gravely hungover voice "Sorry I was up late sacrificing chickens and cats to Satan" They actaully ran off my property.

We always see them driving around the neighborhood, I will take my shirt off so my tattoos show, put my AK over my shoulder, and answer the door and tell them my god is ready to start the war, hope you came armed, they leave very quickly, last time they came, I walked out to the driveway loading the shotgun, they almost pulled a u-turn in my driveway!

I haven't gotten many but the two I remember well, we invited in. We made it clear that we weren't interested in 'joining the flock', but we did enjoy talking and debating about religion. They came by for coffee and conversation once a month for a while.

I am sure without reading all of the other posts that this has already been said in some fashion BUT:
I always thank them for their time and effort on my behalf and I inform them that my belif system is a very private matter. I then ask them to have my home and family removed from their list.
This has worked at every address I have lived in. I see them moving about the neighborhood and passing me by.
I respect them and their belief system. It is the non religeouse who have historically been the greatest champions for freedom of religeon and thereby helped avoid holy wars so to speak...

Just out of curiosity...because they came through my neighborhood on Friday...and came back to my house on Saturday....
Friday I was at work...and my daughter (18) answered the door ...with her Wiccan Bible in hand. They started talking about the Bilble...and she said no thanks...I already have one and held up her book...title facing out.
She says they looked like deer in the headlights....and then they turned and hustled themselves off the property.
Yesterday they came back...three of them this time.
I met them at the door.
I politely asked if there was a reason they came back...they got all nervous and left...I think they were back to confront my daughter.
If they come back again I am considering calling the police
you have to take action on a case by case basis .Some are more intrusive than others.
If they are not listening to you when you say no thanks you have legal rights at your disposal.

Odd thing happened to me at the county fair though. There is a vendor that sells crystals and natural stone jewelry that comes every year to this fair. I love his jewelry so I always look for him. This year my daughter was with me...and she was wearing a pentagram necklace (I mentioned earlier that she is Wiccan). Well - there were people in the next booth over (from the jewelry guy) handing out bibles (Gideons I think). They saw my daughters necklace and I thought the one guy was going to have apoplexy! He literally caming running out of the booth with his Bible raised up in the air like he was going to strike my daughter. Instead- he ran smack into pissed off Momma.
(At almost 6 ft tall ....I am not a tiny person and I am very strong)....and needless to say the bible guy wound up on his backside on the ground. The shop owner I was visiting came out from behind his counter and stood next to me...and called security over. They made that guy leave the fair and told him to never return. We were actually given free passes to the fair for the next night by way of apology from the Park Rangers. Unfortunately - I didn't get to go back the next night thanks to the storm that hit (but that is a different story...involving me, some downed trees...and a chainsaw!)
Has anyone actually been assaulted or threatened like that in public for not being Christian. I don't know which group hands out Gideons or what the difference is between that and other versions- so I can't say what group this people belonged to....

Unfortunately - I didn't get to go back the next night thanks to the storm that hit (but that is a different story...involving me, some downed trees...and a chainsaw!)
Has anyone actually been assaulted or threatened like that in public for not being Christian. I don't know which group hands out Gideons or what the difference is between that and other versions- so I can't say what group this people belonged to....
They are the gideons thats the name of the church the address for the head of the church is listed in the bibls they leave in motel rooms. Im glad you put this clown on his kester.these idiots don't realize that the freedom of rel. is for everyone not just their particular church.i think Duchessa is right .I would have made a citizens arrest for attempted assault.but thats just me,anyways I'm glad you were there to protect your daughter from this nut!

Why didn't you press charges? Not only people need to be shown what freedom means but, also, dangerous people need to be removed from the streets.
At the time I didn't think about calling the police. The park rangers hustled his butt out of the fair so fast it was almost funny. He didn't hit me so much as he ran into me. Which was like running into a telephone pole. I am solid, strong, and I don't budge.
Quite frankly - if I had called the police I myself could have been arrested on assault charges if he chose to press them. I am the one who stepped in front of him. I made contact. I don't know how much it would count that he was running at my daughter with bible raised in the air. New Jersey laws don't take self-defense into account much...never mind defense of others ...and my daughter is not a minor anymore.
I think I better step up my game with my p90x exercise routine...just in case he is back there next year. I would prefer to be intimidating enough to a pencil necked bible pushing geek like that so he would think twice about a second attempt (that would be a bonus to getting back in shape)

I don't think these people think of the consequences they could face on account of their actions...for them nothing is more important than their (brainwashed) approach to life..
