Ah you don't mean that, pole. You can't be wishing that upon some people only because they'd rejected you. It might be more complicated than it seems on the surface. You perceive it as directed at your disability, but it could easily be something else.

My 2 cents worth

Thank you- I cannot tell you how much all of you have helped me already. Even if I don't post a lot- I read you all, and you make me smile plenty of times. Not much of that going around with me lately. YUCK- I hate it when I am in a hole of self-pity, but I just don't seem to be able to shake it. I am trying to think about all the positive stuff that is still in my life, which is plentyful, but I am kind of stuck in my sad place right now... ugh So- thank you all for posting things that get my mind off of it, at least for a little while. It helps to know you all genuinely care

My x boyfriend had disabilities he had polio when a child and couldn't walk or do alot of things but that never stopped me from loving him...Never even thought about it much.Didn't stop him from hooking up with someone younger either
If a person has a problem with it, then they are the ones that really have the disability... they don't know how many great people they are missing...

I'm new to this site also. I was told before by my ex-bf that he didn't see me as disabled for i was human like the rest. Its just certain things on each body with disability that may not work but we do have feelings and a heart that works and can do things when we set our minds to doing it. I have been in a wheelchair since i was 14 and the 24 will be 28 yrs for me. I have been through alot and have had faith and prayers to help me keep on going. If they can't deal with our disability then its their loss and not ours. I can drive and have a 16 yr old girl. We all can do more than what others know about and they just don't want to take that chance for us to prove to them what all we can do. God bless everyone. Always think possitive and NEVER GIVE UP!!!!

One of my x boyfriends had a disability, Kleinfelter syndrome. Have you heard of it? It's when a man's body does not produce testosterone, and he had to administer injections about every month. His disability wasn't an issue, as I didn't know much about this condition, had no computer then, so I believed to whatever he said. Turned out he had terrible temper tantrums, and I think some personality disorders, 'cause he was spying on his neighbors and I never knew why. And then, his sex drive along with his mood was at its highest within a few days following testosterone injection. He was absolutely impossible to handle, as he could do it about every hour, so had to do plenty of self service. At the end of the month he was down in the dumps, couldn't do anything, and on the top of it, was drinking and using drugs. Had I known all that, I would've steered clear. You live and learn. Now I am being Xtra careful.

That being said, I am blessed with RA that is hibernating right now. I am pretty much open about it.

I am on disability cause I have a bad back which is due from falling off a horse at a camp that I volunteered at.My lower back is crumbling plus I have a pinched nerve in my right leg.I have also lost a kidney due till the fall.I regret falling off horses but not working at the christian camp cause I did it for my Lord and I love being kids and horses. This happened in 1992-1997.I am not in a wheelchair.I move around freely.I do sometimes walk with a cane.I know that there is people who doesn't have a problem with people having disability just the matter of getting the right one!Seems like when u mention that ur disabiled they all want to run and have nothing to do with u!I do have a hard time trying to find someone cause of my disability, they r afaird that I or us people with disabilities aren't capable of doing things. There is nothing wrong with us having disabilies, all we want is someone to love and like us for who we are,we can do just as much as any other person who is not have disabilities can.

Absolutely! Nothing wrong with us, except maybe move slower, or harder to sit, stand.
We are still people with hearts and souls.

I'm sorry that that had to happen, and especially at a Christian Camp helping kids.
But God had a reason that may never be known unto we make it to His kingdom.
Someone's life may have been touched then, or even may still be being touched by your wonderful attitude about it.
I think about riding my horse, I know I never will be able to, but would love to. She's young (just turned 2) so it'll be a year before anyone will be riding her. But she is very therapeutic to me. Just going outside and her whinnying for me. Brushing her, combing her mane and tail. Just watching her peacefully crop the grass in the yard (she is a great lawnmower!) is a calming influence on me.

I have come to expect that as I am dating older ...that I may become involved with a man who has health issues. I have met a few men who had such issues and that has made me anxious but I have come to learn if that man is taking care of himself with medication and the proper diet...it doesnt have to be an issue in a relationship and that covers other disabilities as well. Everyone needs to feel loved and needed and I feel if there is a disability love is needed even more because having someone who cares about you makes it not so hard to manage. In fact, you have more of a reason to take care of yourself because your welfare involves another person.
