You know, just because a woman leaves you after you've given her everything does not reflect that the relationship was bad, it was the person that left that had a problem. I keep reading these posts that suggest, "oh well, I spoil her and treated her well and she still left/cheated/divorce me, maybe I should have called her (fill in the blank), slap the skank and she would have stayed".
Do you honestly believe that as much as many women on here tell you that they've left partners/husbands for the same thing? I hope not.
I hear the bitterness, the hurt, the pain and the sadness. But the person that left, left because she/he had issues and when they say its not about you, believe them, its not about you, it really is about them. They were cowards who could not be any good for you in a relationship, but did not have the dignity to break up with you with respect. The other reason is that they just weren't into you anymore...again nothing to do with you.
But just because its happen, don't let that be the focal point for the next relationship. People are different and everyone when in love do love to spoil their partners. Spoiling doesn't always mean anyone expects it, its just nice when done every so often... I wouldn't want to be spoiled all the time, though, like every thing esle it loses its meaning when its overdone.
And as for aboomer, the one who claims a date should reciporate with a walk in the bedroom...talk about tacky and classless... but tell me, how's that working for ya....I thought so

I dont want to be spoiled. I want to be treated like the wonderful lady (perfect..HELL NO...but Im a good person) I am...and I want to find a wonderful man I can love and respect too. The occasional..oh honey you had a hard day..let me rub your feet ect.. if thats spoiling..well than yeah, I think thats needed..on a give and take basis! We take turns supporting each other! I want a man who has my back..and when Im down, will pick me up..give me love and kisses, and I am strong enough to do the same for him!
There is nothing wrong with doing something special for your loved one. It only becomes bad if there is no reciprocation...then, yeah, fella's, its time to consider that you are NOT in a give and take relationship...just the kind where you are giving and shes taking. So walk away, and find a lady who respects and wants a REAL relationship!
Its bad to spoil anything. But mutual respect, love and affection? I hardly call that spoiling. Its up to you to figure out when its not that..and go find a real lady!
Still looking for my real man...so go figure, huh?
There are ladies out there who appreciate the real men.
And are not looking for the "bad boy" syndrome..believe me. I fell for the 'nice guy' syndrome, and got screwed over that way...so..it works both ways gentlemen.
Give me a man who treats me like a queen, and he will be king of our castle. Thats all Im saying.

Well, I've been a perfect gentleman and got screwed over. I never got screwed over when I didn't care. That's the problem...it's how we perceive our fit in the relationship. As for my case...it's much like the big problem that pervades many relationships and break ups...people think they deserve to feel like it's all daisies all the time... truth is, it ain't! There's going to be times when it does really get tough and you have to tough it out to keep from losing the whole investment. To me, any relationship in which you were happy for years is well worth saving if at all possible. The destructiveness of many break ups is a killer. Finding those little live embers and getting the fire back is really tough and not always something that can be done.

"born with nothing, die with everything"
When you feel crapped on it's the wrong relationship to be spoiling in anyway. Give out of love, expecting nothing in return; because if the one you love is genuine, they will be trying to spoil you more than you ever ever ever imagined.

I was married twice and can honestly say that between my 2 husbands and any man I have dated before or since, I HAVE NEVER BEEN SPOILED. Everything that was given to me had strings attached or was used as amo to throw in my face at a later time OF HIS CHOOSING. I would not know how to deal with a man who spoiled me as I have only known how to be abused and treated badly.
