Thank you so much Danno for your prayers....I am typing fast as we keep losing power and right now we are very close to being in the eye.....we have had a tornado which has destroyed a couple of homes and the wind and rain are more than I have ever seen!!!
I know a few have already been thru the worse and hope and pray you are ok and safe I know Brenda does not have power and wont until hopefully Monday....
We are getting reports of 5 people dead so far unfortunately 2 are children.....but not from the tornado.....
Ok we are under another tornado warning right now so I need to run .....please continue your prayers everyone for all in this storms path!!! It is not something we are used to here and struggling to understand what to do.....
I love you guys like family and hope all are back here as soon as possible!!!!

I am praying with you all....
I feel so bad for the families who simply couldn't afford to evacuate.
All the animals...
It's one thing to have these darn things on top of you but some people might not have had the money to go stock up on food and water etc that they will need...even candles and flashlights. I hope and pray they can get the electric back on for them quickly...

sometimes to take for granted our blessings that we have when we're

Thank You Sooooooooooo Very Much From All Of Us On The East Coast---DH Is Always Here For Friends/No Matter What Part Of The Country
Tuesday -----I witnessed our 1st Earthquake
Friday---- Witnessed with my girls leaving Cape May /Mandatory Evacuation---90s & my A/C decided to not work---a less than 2 hr drive turned into 4hrs---By the time we got home/almost felt like heatstroke
Saturday----the heavy rain started hours ago/the winds picking up now & the water pooling in streets/sidewalks----the worst is yet to come---there were tornadoes in parts of NJ & DE & I think VA----GOD just get us through til this time tomorrow night & then we will deal with whatever we may have to/Amen

You know it's so funny how many people will complain if this isn't what it was predicted to be! They'll either claim to have known that it wasn't going to be anything different than we've had in the past or that they've spent money on precautions for nothing.
Wouldn't it be great if they all realized how bad it could have been and thanked God for getting us all through this in whatever way he does? I think so.
Of course the winds are really smashing against my place right now and I'm betting I should go bring that darn filthy wet garbage can inside. ughhhhh Or maybe not. How much are new cans? lol Should probably shut down here too before the electric goes out. But but but...I can't go to sleep.

I'm double posting because now I need prayers. I just checked the basement and the pump is running like crazy which is good but then I noticed that the waters leaking through cracks in the foundation (as in pouring in) and it's not going directly into the pump. OMG the town next to me just lost electric. If I lose electric, I lose the pump.
I just moved here in a big hurry from my other house and have tons of things stored in the basement including sentimental items and collections. I can't lift everything and I don't even know where to put it. I just brought up several things because once the electric goes out, I won't be able to see what I'm moving as I walk through water. Ohhhhhh I hate this. And..yes, I was stupid and didn't get insurance yet!

I was just in my basement---same thing---water is coming up through the cement floor---still have power---so only God knows what tomorrow will bring---will be thinking good thoughts all will not get too bad for you

Good Morning all and just know Prayers are still coming your way as to those who have gone thru it those going thru it and those who are going to go thru it!!!!
She is nothing to take lightly and packs a mean punch!!!! Downgraded or not she has no mercy!!!!!! Take heed and do not take the warning lightly!!!!
I so agree with the other poster.....I heard so many say they spent money on things they did not need,,,, hey I spent money that was not in the budget on a few things too and I am sooooo thankful I did not need them!!!! But I had them to survive if I had too!!! We lost power and that was the scariest thing to me.....I was cut off and powerless and alone but I made it and I pray all of you will too!!!! My biggest advice is listen to your warnings and take action. I did not and I was extremely lucky!!!! I so hope none of us ever have to go thru this again but if we do take all lessons you learn from this one!!!!
All of you are in my prayers and thoughts!!!!! and again Thank you so much Danno for starting this and all who have kept us here on the East Coast in your prayers!!!!
Stay safe all.....and oh yes....I have not even attempted to look in my basement but I can only imagine.....uggg can you start a round of row row row your boat!!!!

Bethany,,we already have trees down and a lot of branches,,the power just came back on again,,
I live in a building for the elderly and disabled,,we have put a table and chairs in the middle hall where there are no windows and planned a buffet for when the power goes out,,,well every time it goes out for a half hour or so everyone starts bringing food to the table,,it's really kind of funny there's already three trays of swedish meatball,,that's alot of meatballs
even though we don't talk I'm glad that you Bethany and you whidbey are OK

Seems for some this Irene seemed to get you out and about... Maybe its God's way of telling some that the tough know how to survive and band together for the good of all.....Guess we all know what Surf's having this fine Sunday..MEATBALLS ..and very glad to hear about the others that weathered Irene...Whid, I can almost see the smile as you found your house NOT touched by this...Beth, you worried me but also glad you stood your ground...Sorp and Sunshine/Johnny....good to hear you're safe too...Anyone I missed; know we were all keeping vigilance to your safety whether we know you personally or not

This morning as I watched the news I prayed for Sorpy and Lexingtonbob and his wife. I know there are many others out there and God knows each of you by name!
God, our Creator I praise you for another day to walk with you. I thank you that you know each heart and thought in our minds. I trust that you will protect those I call friends and those I have yet to meet. In times of a storm Jesus said, "Peace be still." We seek that same peace today for our country for the storms we can see and for those hidden deep in our hearts. Guide our path to safety and bless each one we hold dear to our hearts. I spent all last night working through the storm here in NYC. It was very powerful but people heeded the warnings and got the hell out. Was very erie to see my town look like a ghost town but everything seems to be coming back to life today. Lots of damage and flooding but we will survive because we all come together in time os crisis. That is what makes this country great. Thanks for everybodies prayers

Just posting to let everyone know that I'm fine. I sincerely believe that all the prayers stopped what could have been a disaster for me. My electric never went out but most people in my town including those right around me lost theirs. Basements are flooded and they're told no electric until possibly Sept. 2nd to the 5th. I'm packing all my supplies in my car and heading over to where people are without, and giving them mine. I'm also going to offer to charge cell phones for those who don't have car chargers.
The only thing that I lost was my cable because the internet went out right after my last post to everyone here and just came back on. (Oh yeah, I also lost in the game of Trouble and Sorry that I played with my two daughters that were here and my grandson who somehow..someway...ahem, beat all of us. : )
My next task aside from rearranging my basement and getting insurance is to find a way for my daughter to get back to the city. NJ Transit is still down and the buses are located beyond our flooded roadways and I can't get to them. I figure if that's the least of my problems from this storm though...I'm lucky. I pray everyone else that went through it is too.
Thanks again to all those who care so much and for those who sent me emails to check up on me.

**Cowgirl - that's a good idea with the large plastic bags. I never thought of that and I'm going to absolutely go buy some and put them around the boxes of things in my basement. I think I may also take them to my storage unit where I haven't had the chance to go check on things yet. At least that's insured.
**Sunshine - I've always had homeowners insurance but my move was so quick and this isn't where I'm staying for good. However, when I canceled the homeowners, I asked them for a quote on renters insurance twice already, and they never got back to me. Nevertheless, I dropped the ball but I'm bouncing it again now and won't stop until I make the basket! Thank God everything worked out! : )

You know it's a great feeling to know that all you East-coast DH
folks are reporting how you've made it through your Irene ordeal.
Not only that it's gone from our shores ,but the important part
that everyone's alive & well. I think it a 'blessed ' thing that
this storm indeed WAS less- than it was predicted for you all !
