Do you think its Ok for a guy to like going to the spa with his lady and get a pedi/mani with her? No clear coat or polish or anything, just a normal soak, cut, file, and rub. Is that attractive or not to you ladies? I know most of the guys probably think its Nancy but I want to know what the ladies think.

I don't think it is a bad thing to show a little pride in your appearance. I think that this is unnecessary though. If you are the pretty boy type it seems fitting if you work at a desk or something. Nothing wrong with it. Just not something I would do. I am not a pretty boy and can barely dress myself. LOL

Im not a pretty boy. Im on my feet a lot and mostly enjoy the foot and calf rub. I also play piano and like finger nails to be nice too. Its very relaxing you should try it. I probably would have said the same kind of stuff until I actually had them done.

Personally, I let my fingernails grow longer than most men, not because I like how it looks, but because fingernails are useful tools. I break or split them a lot, so for me paying someone to make them look nice would be a huge waste of money. But I couldn't care less if other men do that.

I got a pedicure once...I was going to Mexico and I wanted nice toenails to walk around the beach with...can't say it improved my batting average though.

OP, In all my 48 years, I only saw one straight guy do pedicure and manicure. He is a Filipino, one of the employees I supervised at the shrimp hatchery we built. You would not believe it, but he was hired at the construction site - digging holes and breaking rocks using chisel and a hammer. When I saw him at work, sporting long, well-manicured nails, always checking his nails for chips, really lazy guy! I had him fired, not because of the nails, but because he was stealing construction materials, and he was a bad influence to all the other guys working!

I like it. He doesn't have to get them professionally done, but nails get nasty so it's nice when men pay attention to them and take care of them.

You dont have to have long nails to have a manicure. I have them clip mine short and they just file, push back the cuticles, and clip off dead skin, soak them in stuff that makes them soft, and massage them. Women commonly get them shaped, painted, or have long acrylic nails put on.

I think one day of rock climbing, would cancel out the benefit of the manicure. So it would kind of be a waste of money for me.
As I said for women, it doesn't matter to me. It would be her choice, and wouldn't be of value, if she is going to go rock climbing with me.

I'm amazed at how many people think manicure= long nails. That is not the case.
I get manicures and my nails are not long. It's just nice to have my hands massaged and my cuticles taken care of by a professional, not to mention just being pampered.

Hey go to a Truck stop and ask the Truckers this. Maybe you can try and do a Pedicure or Manicure for them. I would love to be a Fly on the wall that day.
Well truckers may have an opinion on it but they are not on their feet all day. I bet if you asked them if they would visit a massage parlor, or chiropractors office for the sore backs from siting all day and drew a comparison between the two as being therapeutic they would all agree it was ok.

My daughter and I got mani's the other day and she just about fell out of her chair looking because a guy was getting a pedi. (She's ten). I had to keep nudging her and tell her to stop staring.
The gel nails are hard as a rock and will not chip. I keep mine short. You can rockhound, hike, and beat the crap out of them and they stay nice. You do have to take a dremmel file to them to get the damn things off though - something I didn't know the first time I got them.
Rock climbing would be just fine on them.

In my two lines of work(fireman and mechanic)rough hands are just a fact of life. Nails, however, must be kept clean and trimmed. No way I'm gonna subject a lady to nasty sharp edged nails. If a man wants a to manicure and primp himself I see no issue. I'm sure a lot of ladies like "pretty boys." No, I don't mean that in a bad way either.

i dont think its wrong,but still most of the straight men i know,wouldnt do it-NEVER.
they will spend an hour in the bathroom,trying to take some basic care of their toenails and fingernails,but seen to do it in public-only over their dead bodies.

Its against "guy code" but it needs to be done. There should be a Man spa, looks just like a sports bar and the spa techs look like strippers. Im sure it would be ok then.
