Jesus Defeated the Enemy—So Can You
by The Pathway
Jesus Defeated the Enemy—So Can You
“For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” - Hebrews 2:18
After Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, He was “led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil” (Matthew 4:1). He did not overcome Satan as God, but as man anointed by the power of God.
He could have said, “Satan, I want you to know that because I am God, I will obliterate you this moment.” Had He asserted His power as God, then when He asks us to overcome the devil, we could respond, “Sure, it’s easy for you to say it. You’re God. Don’t expect me to do what You did.”
Jesus didn’t pull rank on us. Instead, God anointed Jesus as a man to do what we, as humans, can also do by His anointing. You and I have what we need to face any temptation. For we are in Christ, and He is in us.
You have the same Father to call upon and the same Word of God to use against the enemy. You do not have to yield, give up, or give in. Instead, you can have the victory over him, just as Jesus did. Remember, “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.”

Praying Someone To Salvation
Steve Welch
Praying Someone To Salvation
Q. Jesus says that if we pray within God’s will and Jesus name, He will grant our prayers. The Bible also states that it’s God’s will that everyone comes to Christ. Is that an assurance that if we pray for someones salvation, they will be saved?
A. Even though God doesn’t want anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9), salvation is a personal choice so not even He can make us accept Him. But our prayers will cause the Holy Spirit to exert almost irresistible influence on a person, making it very difficult for them to say no. The harder we pray the more difficult it becomes to resist, although I’ve known some who have held out for years. I believe God eventually wins these battles for us.

Song: God Will Take Care Of You.
Artist: Plumb.
Lyrics:
Be not dismayed what e'er be tide
God will take care of you
Beneath His wings of love abide
God will take care of you
God will take care of you
Through every day, o'er all the way
He will care for you
God will take care of you
Through days of toil when heart doth fail
God will take care of you
When dangers fierce your path assail
God will take care of you
God will take care of you
Through every day, o'er all the way
He will care for you
God will take care of you
God will take care of you
Through every day, o'er all the way

The Overshadowing of God’s Personal Deliverance
by The Pathway
The Overshadowing of God’s Personal Deliverance
. . I am with you to deliver you,’ says the Lord —Jeremiah 1:8
God promised Jeremiah that He would deliver him personally— “. . . your life shall be as a prize to you . . .” (Jeremiah 39:18). That is all God promises His children. Wherever God sends us, He will guard our lives. Our personal property and possessions are to be a matter of indifference to us, and our hold on these things should be very loose. If this is not the case, we will have panic, heartache, and distress. Having the proper outlook is evidence of the deeply rooted belief in the overshadowing of God’s personal deliverance.
The Sermon on the Mount indicates that when we are on a mission for Jesus Christ, there is no time to stand up for ourselves. Jesus says, in effect, “Don’t worry about whether or not you are being treated justly.” Looking for justice is actually a sign that we have been diverted from our devotion to Him. Never look for justice in this world, but never cease to give it. If we look for justice, we will only begin to complain and to indulge ourselves in the discontent of self-pity, as if to say, “Why should I be treated like this?” If we are devoted to Jesus Christ, we have nothing to do with what we encounter, whether it is just or unjust. In essence, Jesus says, “Continue steadily on with what I have told you to do, and I will guard your life. If you try to guard it yourself, you remove yourself from My deliverance.” Even the most devout among us become atheistic in this regard— we do not believe Him. We put our common sense on the throne and then attach God’s name to it. We do lean to our own understanding, instead of trusting God with all our hearts (see Proverbs 3:5-6).

Now you've made some notable points about how certain passages of scripture are disturbing, such as the consumption of dung and slaughter of youngins, but I think the above movie clip shows forth that in reality, this type of "sermon" (which occurs on a daily basis) is what is destroying the credibility of faith and Christianity.
But I absolutely love "There will be Blood" and Paul Dano and Daniel Day Lewis were breathtaking in this scene.
And no I have not seen Babette's feast...

What If? Get Up And Go!
by Ken Souza
What if God were to command you in no uncertain terms to "Get up and go" to wherever He is sending you and that you would not be returning to your home ever again. Would you immediately get up, grab your bible and go, or would you suddenly be paniced, trying to figure out what important items you needed to take with you?
As I sit here typing this, I can look around the room and see things that I would like to take with me. This laptop, for instance. My collection of Christian music, books and DVD's. My cell phone. A flashlight. The keys to the house (just in case I need to come back to retrieve something). What about those other things, like a toothbrush, deoderant, soap, a change of clothing, a pillow and blanket? What about those sentimental items given to me by family and friends; some who may have gone to be with the Lord? What about all my important paperwork? And then there are the thoughts of who will be putting their hands on your belongings when you're gone... throwing them away, taking them for themselves, redistributing them or selling them. If these are the thoughts going through your head right now, can you truly say that you have given yourself completely to the Lord? There was a man who wanted to go bury his dead relative before following Jesus, but Jesus told him to let the dead bury the dead and to follow Him. The rich man who wanted to please God was told by Jesus to go sell everything he had and then to follow Him (of course, Jesus was trying to show the young man how he depended on his wealth and stature more than God).
Are we willing to give up everything in one brief moment when God tells us to get up and go? Are we willing to walk out the door, bible in hand, and live on the streets as we proclaim the word of God? After all, a life like that means you have no guarantee of eating that day or finding a comfortable place to sleep. Of course, Jesus would not command everyone to do this, but the question remains: "If Jesus told me to get up and go right now, would I hesitate and think upon all the things that were mentioned above, or would I just get up and go?" Meditate upon this question and go before the Lord and ask Him to reveal the truth in your heart. When the answer is revealed deep inside your heart (not in your head) then you will have a better understanding of exactly where your relationship with the Lord is at that very moment in your life. Some may feel the need to re-evaluate just how willing they are to obey the Lord in all things. It's an eye opener. It was for me.

Are you ‘all in’ for Jesus?
by The Pathway
Are You Jesus?
A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago . They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly-missed boarding.
ALL BUT ONE!!! He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned.
He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor.
He was glad he did.
The 16-year-old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her; no one stopping and no one to care for her plight.
The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.
When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, "Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?"
She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly."
As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him,
"Mister...." He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes.
She continued, "Are you Jesus?"
He stopped in mid-stride ... and he wondered.
He gently went back and said, "No, I am nothing like Jesus - He is good, kind, caring, loving, and would never have bumped into your display in the first place."
The girl gently nodded: "I only asked because I prayed for Jesus to help me gather the apples. He sent you to help me, so you are like Him - only He knows who will do His will. Thank you for hearing His call, Mister."
Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: "Are you Jesus?"
Do people mistake you for Jesus?
That's our destiny, is it not?
To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace.
If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day.
You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked up you and me on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit.
Please share this, {IF you feel led to do so}.
Sometimes we just take things for granted, when we really need to be sharing what we know....Thanks.

Jesus said that we must be born "from above", not born "again". We were first born as a spirit THEN (after satan's rebellion and overthrow) we were born from a spirit body into a flesh body to choose who we would love: God or satan.
I have provided the scripture that Jesus spoke and looke the words up in a Strongs Concordance. They are reflected below.
John 3:6
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. KJV
NT:509 Again anothen (an'-o-then); from NT:507; from above; by analogy, from the first; by implication, anew:
KJV - from above, again, from the beginning (very first), the top.
NT: 507 Again (prime root) ano (an'-o); adverb from NT:473; upward or on the top:
KJV - above, brim, high, up.
