I am still trying to get my camping trailer out into the woods. I am looking for a Generator that will run my A/C, microwave, coffee pot, computer and if I decide to install one, TV/DVD/CD plaer without having to turn any one of the other items off if I happen to be using them.
The trailer is only about 22 ft long and the AC is the standard 13.5 BTU...I have heard that it needs a surge to get it going, then the generator can back off and run normal...
Yamaha makes a Inverter generatjor, the EF3000iSE that will run the A/C, based on what i have read, but will I have to shut something else off to run it? I dont know and the specs and reviews dont say....Its pricey...like everything else.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks...

No takers, eh?...I am having difficulty finding anyone with any knowledge of generators, except for sales people... some are honest, some are not....I'm paranoid.

I have a 3500 watt and it will not run the a/c at the same time your running coffe pot or microwave. You would be better off with a 5000 to 5500 watt. I know thats what I should have bought.

I wound up buying a Honda 3000Is. It was on sale and I saved $380.00 and got free shipping.

Hows the little Honda going so far? I never could afford one but we used them at work and they'd last 8 months to over a year, and that was pretty much running 24 hours a day nonstop, in normal useaage I'd say they'd last a good while.

Have not had the time to use it yet. I intend to use it during the summer to run the AC on my camping trailer...Lord Willing.

You might want o check out the RV Forums @ RV.net
One of the forums is specific to "Boondocking".
The "Tech issues" forum has a very long thread on 3000 Watt generators.
BTW: you might want to consider a "swamp cooler" instead of the A/C.
