We need to form our own car club. Any ideas for names? I would really rather paint route 66 on something other than my arse! Or leg. got the stencil cut out to do the skulls on my umbrella for the Iola carshow. Now..will this year be the usual bake your head. Or will I actually be using it for RAIN!! Swap meets suck in rain..if I wanted to shop tarps, would just go to Harbor Freight! Just once..please...72, parly cloudy and a nice breeze????? Good Morning Gearheads,Screw the old hens & make our own coffee We can make better coffee anyway
I survived the big bang boom of the 4th, We shot several exploding targets then we all did Archery for a cupple hours with the new archery setup I now have for my range. And we moveed down to my mothers and took grilled hambugers & all the fixing for supper with my mom, then at dark we took her chair out side so she could watch the fireworks with us.
I think we had a pretty good show. But we also knew tragidy was just over the hill east of mom's house, I don't know yet who or what happend but my guess is it was a bad accident as Firemen were on top the hill and would not let traffic through and they would not say why either but as I was talking to them I could see one veihicle on top the next hill and about 5 people scattered on the hill? The flashing lights stayed on our hill for a long time & was still their when I went to bed.

Why do I look at those cows and only think...HERNIA!!! Man some people are gluttons for punishment! I saw on the news a 3 year old drown in Lake Delton. No details. That is one mean lake..it is from the glaciers and drops off at the beach super quick. And some idiot in the Dells went on the advertised super fast go carts, hit a post and killed himeself. So not a good holiday for up there. Some fireworks guy blew one in the start in the canister and it took his arm and side up badly. I was in a war zone...down river sounded like M80s and up was two at the Dells and one at Baraboo. Dog went bark, bark. NO NO ONE is here. It is fireworks...ok..thunder like when it rains? Fine...you know when I shoot squirrels..oh lets go outside! See...oh..ok. I stayed safe..just went to the cliff with bincos..no driving anywhere. Just skeeter bites and gave up. I am wondering now how one can go so fast on a go cart TRACK and kill yourself.

The very first car that I truly "loved" was the neighbor's '54 BelAir 2 door hardtop. It was that dark yellow and white. It was lowered, skirts. split manifold with duals. Blue dots and had a car club plaque hanging from the bumper. On the rear deck lid (shaved, of course) was the car's name... "Butterscotch" I was 8 or 9 years old and when I heard him start it up, I always ran for the front door to see it. If he saw me, he would push in the clutch and give the gas a couple of blips for me..... Yes, if I could, I would have a clone of that car..... It was part of what started it all for me.

Bub... you remember not to long ago I posted a Friend of mine had a 6 cylinder he use to race... I just got a email the other saying he bought a 98 Corvette engine and tranny he was going to stick in a 37 Chev (he purchase in MN some where??) but decided to use the 6 cylinder he had stored in the back of his shop... He Said he went completely thru the engine removing the dual 4's , the race cam and going with dual two barrels... He always was a 6cyl guy as long as I can remember and listening to those spilt manifolds is a unforgotten sound.. back then the Scavenger Straight Pipes were popular...

Saw a '47 Chebbie coupe today and thought of Bull's.....
This was was still in primer, but had the fenders molded to the body, shaved, nosed and decked, chopped and hardtopped..... The bodywork was awesome! Didn't have a chance for a picture, but it was enough to make my heart skip a beat.....

I bet that is sweet... I almost went with a Hard Top on my 47 but then I wanted the Pro Street LQQK to compete with those Willy's (in car shows that is.. LOL)
The only other hardtop 47 I have seen was in Southern Calif.. and the guy had to slide the rear side window in and out Horizontally... Did you by any chance see how they did the rear side windows...????
Geeze I wish I would get finished with this House thing... then back in to Auto's and NO I will not send my cars out again .. maybe hire somebody to help me right here in my own shop..

Hot will be the word of the day hear in Nebraska as well.
Going to check out a gun auction in a little while in Osmand the guns are from a creighton Banker who passed away a year or so ago. Not real interested in buying one but I maybe interested in shells & other related things & maybe a Black powder revover?

I like the tires
Got by pretty cheap at the sale as all I bought was a quarter sized button that was given to Nebraska Troups in 1898 I belive. It says [2nd Nebraska] on top then has crossed rifles in center then [VOL. INF.] on the bottom.
Co. name & pat. dates are on the back side.
I thought for $20 it was a great button for to add to my old Muzzle Loading top hat. It has several buttons & badges & pins ect. from 40 years of shooting muzzle loaders & this looked good enough to add to the hat. From the Spanish American war so not to shabby

Take that whole lot, including the old barn boards. That other truck is a mess. What the hell was the concept. At least the spittons are handy..saves the "paint" when people spit on it or need to puke! I wonder how much power and speed that harley truck can get going. My truck is starting to sound like its name..bullfrog. The glasspaks are burning out and he is getting that nice roar when I nail it. My first car was dads 59 Ford wagon to learn to drive on. Eventually owned it. My fiance gave me a 51 Desoto. Cool car. then married and drove a 53 chevy stovebolt, auto four door. Had to check the traffic 50 miles away before pulling out...I'm going! I'm going!! Went from that to a 61 ford convert, stick with auto rear end. Then to a 53 chey stick 4 door. I drove that car forever til I bought my 63 ford convert. And then the 49 chev truck..and 68 Eldi. My ex took the 53 and drove it into the ground. He also had a 52 hardtop and 53 2 door. My life has been filled with 53ish stovebolts. I loved them. But one day..ex called and said..got a 53. Want it? I said let me think. Talked about it with husband and called him back. No. I realize they were a pain to drive really. Everytime the wind whipped, the cars are top heavy and haul. I wanted MINE back the way it was. I checked into the one the guy up the road was selling and too far gone for the price he asked. Guess the love I had for them is part of my past. Lots of good memories. I will be happy with Diablo. Finally bought a hunk of veg tanned leather off ebay to carve the demon for the seat. Painting flames and skulls on a new umbrella for the car show Thurdays..Iola. Hope it cools down!!!! Just ONE year not 90?! Get to visit someone who has been pack ratting for decades also. Wisconsin picking!!
