You have my heart

I sit and I wonder for hours
Of the return of April showers
And if Fall really needs to Fall
I wish it didn't fall at all

And if there is a good reason
Why Winter has to be a season
But mostly I think of Summer
That's when I drive my Hummer

Can you hear heartbeats within my breast
Or feel the rhythm of my breath
Did you catch a falling tear
Or embrace my anger, feel my fear
Could you hear my silent cries
Remember joy in smiling eyes
Smell my hair and want to weep
Slumber with me in silent sleep
Kiss me gently to not alarm
Hold me close beneath your arm
Look at me with warmth by choice
Listen contently to hear my voice
Long to be near when brief apart
Did you mean to steal my heart?

Quote from heatherhoney1:
I loved the child in him
so innocent and sweet
The mischief in his eyes
the blush upon his cheek
The tender way he spoke
that showed me that he cared
The touch of his warm hand
that gently touched my hair
The smiles that we shared
that filled my life with glee
For when I was with him
I found the child in me

sweet and innocent
could we find
age old aggression
we will unwind

words of wisdom
from an elder I see
listen carefully
I say with glee

ponder this so poetically
as I speak from tongues with glee
whisper now and truth be told
How I wonder when minds unfold

words aren't often said to mean
what was typed and what it means
look at them with an open mind
gentle caresses for mankind.......

A drop of dew in the morning sun
Shines as a precious stone
Clouds on a bed of blue
Guiding our steps to home...
And as the evening shadows come
Soft and blue and grey
I wish to to all a peaceful night
Waking to a another precious day.

Good Night.

Sleep comes stalking me
My eyes try to see but my mind has grown numb
I wrap my body in the softness of velvet
I take a soft breath and say good night
I then enter the arms of warmth and sleep
I see you standing in the distance waiting for me in the fog
I have entered my dream once more....

I dreamed of you the other night
your body was healthy
And your smile so bright!
Your energy high and your step so light.

your gypsy spirit, your redman's ways, loving life,
All your days.

I awoke and remembered,
The reality you're living..
You're so far away,
So much strength you must be
giving.

I'm praying you're healed,
And can return to your home soon,
So I can greet you with hugs,
And we can go walk the dunes.

Every time I turn around
You say you should've been gone by now,
You think that everything's wrong,
Ask me how to carry on,
You'll make it through another day,
Just hold on......

Cause life starts now,
You've done all the things
That could kill you somehow
And you're so far down
But you will survive this somehow because,
Life starts now.......

I hate to see you fall down,
I'll pick you up off the ground,
I've watched the weight of your world come down
And now it's your chance to move on,
change the way you've lived for so long,
Find the strength you've had inside all along.......

An all thru the house
We'd all gone ta bed
'Cept a freeloadin' louse

My wife's brother was up
Eatin' everything in site
He liked her home cookin'
But he ain't too brite

Her spinach souffle
Was gone in a flash
An he drank my lass beer
I knew soon he wood crash

We'd fine him tomorrow
Outside on the lawn
All tho it were rainin'
Sometime afore dawn

To be continued...

Coffee in my special cup
Watching the morning sun come up
Thinking of days gone and those to come
What will be the final sum.

Will the good days outweigh the bad
Happiness replace most of the sad
Stirring faith and the will to try
No need to worry frown or cry.

Hope gets tattered and a bit torn
Life rebuilds each waking morn
Drink each day with an easy smile
A step toward the final mile.

In my thoughts, your voice I hear
Memories tell me, you are near
I reach out, to touch your hand
You say, 'no, please understand'

In my thoughts, there is no time
Tied together, like ball of twine
Who we were and what we had
Sometimes happy, sometimes sad

In life's shadows, you are here...

The end of a time,
And not even a rhyme
Will set it back upright.

It's all upside down,
Broken trust, I now frown.
Now the dark has replaced the light.

the careless way
In that clouded time of day,
unleashed and of such poor judgment;

There's nothing to say
After being done that way,
Now silence is all that is golden.

You can end this? anytime you want to
Just jump out of your window
And feel your body break the ground
Or you can come a little closer
And follow the stars to Bethlehem

We'll find faith in the most magical of places
And find home in the smallest of rooms
We'll find life in the most barrenness of faces
And touch Christ in his impending doom

We can go anywhere you want to
I don't really mind
But follow the life on the moon
A life of pain to do
A curse from me to you

Heroes from your harsh dreams
Allow me closer
Signs from your palms I read
We're so much colder
Ships sail out past the Persian coast
To the edge of the world and I doubt

Oh what a life we lead
What gives you the right to say
following your every need
What more can I say
You're such a better person than me

''Ah, Sun-flower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the Sun,
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller's journey is done:
Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale Virgin shrouded in snow
Arise from their graves, and aspire
Where my Sun-flower wishes to go.''

We move just like the moon and sun
The sun comes up the moon rolls down
A world apart but with no sound
Love can always spin us a round

I've been to heaven I've been to hell
I've been to Vegas and god knows where
But there's nothing that feels like home
I love you more than you will ever know

A couple pills a couple scars
I made a wish on a lonesome star
Star oh star you shine so bright
Won't you grant me one wish tonight

Dear I love you more than you'll know
A beaten path that I won't show
A fresh bottle of open wine
That destructive path of mine

Absence

My cup is empty to-night,
Cold and dry are its sides,
Chilled by the wind from the open window.
Empty and void, it sparkles white in the moonlight.
The room is filled with the strange scent
Of wistaria blossoms.
They sway in the moon's radiance
And tap against the wall.
But the cup of my heart is still,
And cold, and empty.
When you come, it brims
Red and trembling with blood,
Heart's blood for your drinking;
To fill your mouth with love
And the bitter-sweet taste of a soul.

Met this guy once,
You'd think we had known each other for many years,
He wasn't afraid to express emotion,
Nor afraid to show his tears.

A rather open book,
But had shelved himself...
Hoping a new reader would brush the dust off his pages,
And read about his inner, now calming rages.

His past read like his present,
As he told his whole life story
And the chapters weren't separated by number, but by only the lack
of his longing glory.

A boring fellow in need of someone,
To be interested in who he had managed well... to never become.

All the hopes and dreams he had were contingent upon some offerings, of wanting and looking up
To another more fulfilled.

In despair of never finding that,
He stayed all alone upon that hill.

Oh Leo, you snob.
So full of yourself
All about you, you, you..

So celebrated,
Shiny medals; (aren't you great.)

No thoughts of whether to be received graciously...but only whether the prize can be displayed.

Your daily talks speak like a never-ending resume',
As though praise starved, you now
gloat, not humbly.

You'll be very happy by yourself.

I hurt the ones I love the most
I get lost in this world of mine
How long am I willing to wait
How much more can I truly take
How many more times will I get back up
I think I've finally given up
Is this just the beginning or is it surely the end
Is my soul really lost or was it never there at all
Am I meant to feel so broken and confused
I'm filled with sorrow and full of pain
I can't be happy because then I feel shame
Guilt eats me up and spits me back out
I'm always filled with doubt
I should be hated rather than loved
So many things wrong with me
I can't dig myself out I keep crying out
I get left with no answers
I can't seem to figure shit out
Someone please help me out.

Lass nite fer my supper, I had me some ribs
An whilst I was eatin', I put on two bibs
Them ribs were all slathered, in sauces galore
I had one rib, then two ribs, an still wanted more
My fingers were covered, with thick drippy drips
Ta git them all clean, took quite a few licks
The best part about it... I saved some fer taday
I'll have them fer breakfast, without any delay

The cigar band ring
From aside his daddy's ashtray,
Served as his gesture
To that lil gal with the sway.

Gave it to her one day,
As they sat under a tree,
He was all tongue tied,
Not sure how she'd answer his plea.

"Wanna go steady?
Will you be my girl?"
He placed it on her finger,
As she answered "sure..
Let's give it a whirl."

Roads taken, time slain
Roses gathered days of love
Fragrant heady whiffs dreamed of
Lilies fallen by the way
Too many wilted short of stay
Lavender and lilac newborn spring
Daisies enamored giddy to sing
Honeysuckle climbing the garden gate
Seeking eager reluctant to wait
Mountain laurels Forget me Nots
Grace the days God begot.

Tyvm Shaggy.

Flowers bloom for a season
Friendship blossoms within the heart
Pressed and dried or in full bloom
Love defies all rhyme and reason.

The ocean's polluted
The seagulls deluded
The mermaids denuded - or, nudified...
The dolphins delightful
The lobsters insightful
But, the sky is quite frightful - we're horrified
So, we search for that isle
That's as wide as a smile
With sweet breezes that blow - like a sigh
Where a coconut falls
When a pelican calls
And the news of the world - says "goodbye".

Quote from nat_now:
The cigar band ring
From aside his daddy's ashtray,
Served as his gesture
To that lil gal with the sway.

Gave it to her one day,
As they sat under a tree,
He was all tongue tied,
Not sure how she'd answer his plea.

"Wanna go steady?
Will you be my girl?"
He placed it on her finger,
As she answered "sure..
Let's give it a whirl."

A hunnert an fifty years ago, the drugstore in my neighborhood would sell me, without a note from home, a small wooden box of Roi Tan cigars to give to my Dad for his birthday... I had plenty of those rings...

I watch you,You watch me
Then we write some poetry
I have a dog,You have a cat
Hey,there's nothing wrong with that
We have no plan for come what may
It's just simply another day
To lurk or post consistently
Only love can set us free...

Final paragraphs of the speech that President Kennedy was enroute to delivering at the Dallas Trade-Mart 50 years ago, this morning... never delivered.

Our adversaries have not abandoned their ambitions,
our dangers have not diminished, our vigilance cannot be relaxed. But now we have the
military, the scientific, and the economic strength to do whatever must be done for the
preservation and promotion of freedom.
The strength will never be used in pursuit of aggressive ambitions -- it will always be
used in pursuit of peace. It will never be used to promote provocations -- it will always be
used to promote the peaceful settlement of disputes.
We, in this country, in this generation, are -- by destiny rather than by choice -- the
watchmen on the walls of world freedom. We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of
our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and
restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of
"peace on earth, good will toward men." That must always be our goal, and the
righteousness of our cause must always underlie our strength. For as was written long
ago: "except the Lord keep the city, the watchmen waketh but in vain."

I sup beneath this poet tree
With baggette, red wine and brie
A puzzling thought, I have drawn
Rind off??? Or does it stay on

Do ya leave the peel on a banana?

No

My dear friend,
I will be very lost and sad without you,
You were right there if I ever needed.
You helped me without me asking,
It meant all, that you wanted
your leisure time spent with me.

These six or so years,
We talked and shared tears,
And who can even count...
All the laughs over several cold beers.

The loud laughs we had
during
Our cribbage games, and
Our sightseeing, you knew every road.

Pictures we took by the hundreds,
And stories we each told.

You'll never know what it gave me that we thought so much alike,
An ease and effortless being with,
A freedom to speak our minds.

An understanding irreplaceable,
And honor in our code.

Coming to terms that again we'll not meet, but I'll remember you everyday,
I knew you best, now you go to rest,
in your "happy hunting grounds".

I'm weary - my vision's gone bleary
Or, the day has gone dark and darn dreary
I could use a quick boost
Someone goose my caboose
I have heard it's quite helpful, in theory...

It was a cold dark dreary day
thoughts of sadness came my way
The fireplace was there but nill
everything was standing still

Suddenly with no despair
happiness filled the air
A little chat which was needed
now my sadness was defeated

Some special friends I have indeed
always there when I'm in need
Some may think that I was whining
But right now the sun is shining......

No quiet sharing
No mutual moments of silence
I'm on my own
In quiet reflection

Would you pause to join in
As a message you care?
Or just carry on not worried,
Is nothing Fair?

You go ahead
Catch up with you later;
Oh, I see that you did
Don't mind me.

My pain is my own
Why drag your heart in.
Forget you know...
Oh, you did.

But then someone
Else came along and cared
Taking your place
Turning my back.
Go your way.
