I don't have enough dirt to fill raised beds. I was considering growing a few items this year, but my lazy is already sprouting.

Your lazy shouldn't have kicked in yet. It is still the 'planning stage' time.

I haven't planted anything yet. I wait until the soil tempature reaches 80 degrees. Reason being okra will not germinate in soil less than 80 degrees. I'm planning on okra, turnips, tomatoes, cucumbers, japelnos, bell peppers, potatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe and I'm going to try strawberries for the bazillionth time. Strawberries are the only thing I can't figure out how to grow.

I just got back from Yuma AZ... I built or convertd a small planter into a veggie garden for a lady... it has it's own semi self watering system... she has only to turn on a water handvalve ...fill a 2 gallon container and let gravity water sprinkle her veggies... ask me for pics... I'll send to ya..

My son got around 5 pounds of Strawberries out of our garden yesterday. He may have made the Strawberry patch too big, 6x24? There must be another 50 pounds of them that are not ripe yet, LOL.

Tomatoes, Green Pepper, Lettuce, Asparagus, Turnips, Acorn Squash, Jerusalem artichoke, Radishes, Cucumbers, Blue Berries, Black Berries - wild. A big yard, 200x950 or so, lots of room to grow things. A couple of apple, pear, and Peach trees.

I tried a new lemon squash this year that is coming along nicely . Can't wait to taste it . Started it from seed .

This is my first year to grow veggies at this place . Spent the first few seasons getting my flower beds going .

I will have raspberries this year for the first time and a few blackberries .

Several kinds of peppers and tomatoes . And to my surprise my celery is doing great .

Cabbage is beginning to head . I have babied it since February . My broccoli went to seed the first hot day we had . I will grow it in fall from now on.

It's been a good year so far .

Pd , your garden sounds amazing .

It's my son's project now since I became disabled, him and a couple of his friends are into organic gardening, and they all have their own. It keeps him busy and happy? No problem! They get around the neighborhood and help each other out with them.

25 years ago my yard was just part of a barren farmers field, I started planting trees and my son started helping when he was older. It's now our little park and we like it here. room to play!
