It is great in platminto cheese. I like real cheese best but it does have its uses.

I LVE Velveeta too but don't like all the artificial junk in it-- I found this on Pinterest and plan on trying this recipe soon-- if using Cheddar is successful-- I might try with other cheeses like Colby or Swiss or maybe 4 cheese Italian blend...

When I make homemade Macaroni and cheese-- I use half Velveeta and half SHARP cheddar cheese. I like the blend of the creaminess from the Velveeta along with that classic sharp cheddar tang.
My mom used to melt Velveeta into scrambled eggs and that's STILL a favorite of mine-- sometimes I'll brown up some chunks of kielbasa in the pan first and then add the eggs & cheese and scramble it all up together.
I make a Sausage/Potato soup with Kielbasa, Yukon gold potatoes (skin on), carrots/celery/onions-- I make a white sauce using milk and chicken stock and melt in half Velveeta and half SHARP cheddar-- then add it to the sausage/potatoes/carrots/celery/onions. It's a really delicious, thick and hearty soup for Autumn

Velveeta is good for nachos, mac and cheese, and other dishes you need melted cheese for. As an eating cheese it isn't a stand alone product.
Like wine, if you wouldn't drink it you shouldn't cook with it. Same with Velveets in most cases.

I agree its not good but it taste awesome when you make con queso dip!!
Roasted green chiles diced
Lots diced/sauteed onions
Lots diced/sauteed tomatos
Can of cream of mushroom
Bit of milk or water
I personally like to add some jalapeno too
Mmmm... i think i may make some tomorrow night
