No, no one can ever take his place, and no one will ever be like him, but you don't want someone to replace him. You want someone who is in his own right a man for you.
Let your late husband be who he was and who he was with you. Let a new man be who is is and who he is with you. Don't make them compete or make him feel he'll never measure up, because he won't. They're two different people with their own strengths and their own weaknesses, and their own love for you.
You, too, will love them differently. Not more or not less, just differently. Just as strongly, and just as wholeheartedly, too.
And even with a new love, you will miss him. Missing him doesn't take anything away from a new man you love. It's just that we are capable of a lot of love. We have room for it in our hearts, if you let yourself have the room.
I've always seen it as my husband sitting there in my heart, moving over to make room, and patting the space next to him for the new man to sit.

This is why many men won't even look at a Widow Lady!! They are afraid that they can't live up to their image of their dead husband. No matter how you feel there is always something good that can come out of something bad. There is always better than what you had if you give someone the oppurnity to get close to you. I was never truly happy om both of my relationships. One with my husband father of my children for 27 years. because he was always sick. Then I had a 10 year relationship and wasn't happy in it. He was an alcoholic. I'm not looking for another one like the two that I had. I want something better!

I can't imagine how hard it must be with a tiny baby. It was hard enough with a 7 yr old.
The pain does go away...to an extent. It's not the bottomless pit, anyway.

Thank you it's still fairly recent not many can understand something like this. Most give me crap because I won't meet them when I say why on here and I have only really been on here for two days. Guess it is a foreign concept that someone is actually here just to pass some of the quiet time..

The French diplomat asked Jefferson if he replaced Franklin............ No, no one can replace Franklin. He said I succeed him. No one replaces a beloved spouse, but another can suceed him.

Tonights a sad night for me.. It is the first night for me without my son since he has been born almost six weeks ago. His father passed before he was born and I am leaving for home in Florida tommorow leaving behind a home I shared with my husband for several years here in Virgina. My mom took my son back with her today to make the trip easier on me but at this time I dislike thethe quiet so much I almost wish he was here to keep me busy too much time to reflect on how many changes are going on here in my life and I dont like them but I am trying to hold onto the fact God has a plan I may not understand it right now but one day it will all make sense..

The first year is hard, getting through the first of everything. Things that mean something, that are an event you did together, like the State Fair, can be hard. I avoided all that the first two years or so, I think. Longer for other things.
My daughter was 7 when her dad died and she cried every night, too. She'd get so mad sometimes, and scream that she wanted her daddy and not me. And all you can do is hold them and agree and murmur all those little "it's ok" things while you're agreeing inside and wishing he was here and crying right along with them. We talk about him all the time, and miss him. She cries more now about how she's forgetting him and losing memories. She cries the most about how he won't be here to see her in school events, see her graduate, walk her down the aisle...that part never gets easier.

my heart will always belong to my husband, and yes now I don't have a husband but in my heart I do, I don't want anyone to replace him, that could never happen, and not sure if I know how to really love again not completely as i did him, but I need to love again, and so do you I think.
Just embrace the love you had for your husband, but open up your heart for another, we all deserve to be loved.
