Usually they can get out for good behavior while in prison.
I think it would depend on why they did it... of there was a good enough reason and they don't keep lime bags and shovels In their vehicle... maybe but I'm not desperate

There's people who do short-term 2nd degree murder sentences.
I worked at a mental health center years ago with a psychologist that had gone to prison for killing his wife. He got charged with manslaughter so he had a short jail time.  He flirted with all of us women. And dang was he hot!!! But nooooo way I was going out with that psycho.

You know,I'd be kinda curious if it is the same for men and women when it comes to dating or pursuing murderers.
We all know that tons of women go for men who kill, serial killers get lots of mail from desperate women.
But do female killers get men to write them and get married ?
I would think not, but I've never seen anything about it.

It would depend on the circumstances ..Not everything is black and white..I almost killed a man when I was 14 for breaking in our house..I still would have been taken in,probably arrested ,and most likely sued by the family !!But I would have been within my rights to protect. myself!! Crazy things happen ...You shouldn't be punnished your whole life for a Mistake.

Guess it would depend on the circumstances. Did I know this person and have a relationship before something happen? Someone that killed someone for abusing a child, their siblings, the other parent, or even them I would have to know if they even had representation or just got railroaded. Some times acting in concert is a common murder beef. A child old enough to be charged as an adult helps dispose of a murdered/deceased abuser or is in a car when a drive by or other crime occurs resulting in the death of another like drag racing for a few examples can and often does result in a murder charge for indigent people.
Not that I particularly excuse murder there are "cases" I read that made me want to dig up the "victim" and kill them again.
Would I see someone who did time for a murder charge a really good risk as far as my personal life probably not. I don't need that kind of pain in my life.

If someone is actually charged with murder they will be in jail awaiting trial. No one would be able to date them. They may have visitation rights (with an armed guard) but they wouldn't be available to go out for Surf and Turf.

I agree. I was married to one of those and he didn't have to hit me. His voice and the words coming out of his mouth were enough to scar me for life (and our oldest child).

It depends on several factors. Bottom line is if they did it in cold blood for no reason at all then absolutely not. If however there were honest circumstances that forced their hand to do it I don't see a reason to hold it against them.

Let's say you meet a guy with a murder conviction because he was simply trying to protect his family but the law didn't believe him and they charged him with murder. He couldn't afford a good lawyer so he gets convicted. Are you telling me you would hold that against him?

There is a difference between murder and kill.Many people to get falsely charged,because a death occurred. And many people have gotten away with many murders,just not caught and or escaped from prison with KKK help-just to murder again...To murder is the taking of an innocent life-to kill is in self defense and protection of a Nation,family,thy neighbor.
