No it's because your secondary letter wasn't the condescending, scripted, whiny garbage that most women get barraged with on a daily basis. Although it was a little over the top, it was more believable than the drivel of the 1st letter.
It's ok to be a romantic also though, just not from the start as that signifies needy. I have a romantic side. I simply choose to save it for the correct time and place, as opposed to wearing my heart on my sleeve and spewing what I think a person wants to hear crap.
There is truly no good or bad boys it's being true to yourself and your nature and speaking your mind agreed or not.
I say a lot of things that aren't necessarily popular opinion. Does that make me a jerk no, honest to myself, and my opinions definitely. Besides who really wants someone that agrees 100% of the time anyhow..

some suggestions to get a response
do not mass mail , we can spot them a mile away
read the woman's profile ,,,and write something that would indicate that you did
(don't write , hey you are cute , let's chat)
ask an intellengent question and most likely you will get a response
ultimately be a gentleman, polite and respectful and if you can be funny without being vulgar, you will get responses

I have to agree that the "Face of an angel" thing sounds like a scam mail. There's some legitimate psychological underpinnings to the experiment though, more about the unattractiveness of the first one than the attractiveness of the second. The second example was pretty tame imo.
EvilEddy does the "intriguing a**hole facade" thing pretty well, if you're interested in some good examples.
I'm personally a little turned off by women who focus on their baggage and bad experiences with men, but maybe it's something they identify with when they hear it from a guy?

I like confident personalities, the second, as soon as you called a women a b*tch, that would have turned me off, because I would imagine what you would call me in the heat of an arguement. Hmmm, yeah but your 48. The ladies (and yes i prefer to refer to women as ladies)I emailed are between 20-30 and most of them go to clubs to show off and are drowned by music (hip hop) that refers to them as hoes and b*tches constantly so because of the generation gap SHAMEFULLY referring to a woman as a b*tch is not as degrading or insulting as it should be. Therefor as I said they responded most of which positively.
