My first experience back into the dating world after an almost 6 year hiatus from dating, I met someone from DH. We had an instant conection..... things went very fast. I introduced him to my kids & family which I hadn't done in years. We were practically inseparable for 3 months then I found out he was married & everything was a lie. That was the end of DH dating for me.
Things off of DH just haven't worked out for various reasons. My health is problematic & dating tends to be exhausting. I've gotten extremely picky about who I spend my time with now.

I will be honest in saying that I like my free reeling ways.Not wanting to give up my time in dating,nor a relationship right now.
Everytime I have went out on a date more times than not...I have walked away in thinking I could of made better use of my time in doing something that I "really" wanted to do.
Selfish maybe?...wasting my time off when not working is something I don't want to do anymore.

I actually applaud you for having enough meaningful stuff going on in your life that you don't HAVE to make time for something that 9 times out of 10 will only disappoint on some level.It's funny, but I used to approach spring all hopeful that "love is in the air!" and this would finally be MY time! Now it really is my time, and I have so much other stuff to do!

It's really just semi-random "meeting"...often with folks with whom you share only the most surface-level of similarities. The vast majority of which will not share attraction even if all else is kosher. What originally seems like an effortless candy store for many turns out to be just a bunch of empty time calories.
Personally, I think it much more efficient to organize some adult fun time (meaning activity-centered, sans children) with other like-minded folks and let attraction happen the more natural way.
