Thanksgiving weekend has come to an end but I do hope the spirit of the holiday continues to shine a light of thanks and gratitude for not only the big things in life but also the simple pleasures and joy life brings with each new day. (I'll take both of them)!!! - 39 degrees in da Motown breeze, heading to 48 (not too bad) I'll take that too! - A trip to Menard this morning (after coffee) to get a couple strings of Christmas lights The LED hanging icicle lights (and I'm sure they "won't" be on sale! Oh well, What can ya do - If I don't buy them I'll have a twenty foot gap! And they "do" look nice. - Hope everyone has a wonderful day and finds a bargain - Christmas isn't that far away. Do you wait until the last minute like "I" do? But I can enjoy snow and cold .... just in small doses. I have been in upper MI snowmobiling ....... man, it's a whole other life to live in that stuff. I felt like I was in another country!!! BTW: that trip was absolutely amazing, out in the middle of nowhere the silence and beauty of everything covered (deep) in white. Breath taking ... and physically too!!! Breathing in that cold was shock to my southern lungs. ~ coffee's on, have a great day and be careful out.

Usually do @ 1,000 miles!! Generally cover the whole western end from @ marquette over to (& into) wisconsin, & up through the keewenaw peninsula, sometimes loading up the saddlebags & going for a few days. Have probably only missed a few years out of the last 20. & yes, its AWESOME for 'recharging the batteries' of life.

I can easily understand the putting on 1,000 miles. Some folks just like to ride and dine and other totally enjoy the ride. I'm one that enjoys the ride, so I get it. What time of the year do you do your annual trip? ~ It was up in the U.P. but sad to say I can't tell you where it was, I don't remember. I was along with the group of friends and along for the ride. Being a motorcycle rider I rode my own snowmobile though. No idea how many miles we put on. We started in the early morning (dusk) and rode I'm thinking over an hour to a place to have breakfast and later we stopped at a lodge where we watched the super bowl game and drying out and warming up and then riding back of course it was dark. Somewhere in there were a few other stops. I was told these trails are old railroad track paths. I also remember one morning there was a 100* difference from inside the cabin to the outside, 75* inside and outside temps -25. I don't recall if that was flat out or with wind chill etc.. I just know I was flabbergasted! The guys place we were at had the main cabin area and then a type of bunk house with three sections. The owner a friend that had recently retired and was establishing a business of having this camp set-up for this type of activity and more. He also was into harvesting maple syrup. It was an adventure that I thoroughly enjoyed! ~ ....oh, and today 49 with a high of 56* ... just da facts Jack! Good mornin' to all and enjoy your day ... coffee's on ...

motorcity4570 Marysville, MI 67, joined Jun. 2009	Morning from MI. - That was one thing I never got into (snowmobiling) But I know a lot of people that "love" it and travel MI looking for snow! - The UP is a wonderful place to get back to nature. I think the first 2 things you notice when your out in the woods is the raw Beauty and the silence that surrounds you. - It's been years since I have journeyed to the UP, I would like to go to Iron Mountain this summer and get lost! It's Beautiful up there. - Got everything done yesterday,even cleaned the gutters (They really needed it). Then it rained like crazy! GOOD, My gutters should be clean as a whistle - Coffee is on - Come and get it --- ---

Did ya get your prime rib last night? Sounds like you have worked your appetite up for it. Speaking of food, it’s about time for me to make up a batch of Taco Soup. Qualified ~ I’m curious, how’s that working out for you …. Skittles with your coffee??? Sound like something a hung-over person would do. I’m not knocking it but I think I’ll stick with my Oreo’s with my coffee. 41* and sunny, high of 61* - according to the web-weather it is going to continue to be the same for the week. The service was kinda slow, but it was packed, I'll have to get there earlier next time. - YES, December 6th and no snow, Yippy! It was in the upper 40s today! - I like a first snow - A Christmas snow - A New Year snow - One heavy snow - and that's it!!! Good to see you, how is life treating ya? Down here I like ANY snow we can get because it doesn’t last long. I am not a fan if it paralyzing the south because we don’t have the means to clear roads etc. but to have it for just a little while is ok by me. Well since I don’t have to try and get children to school etc.. and I can just enjoy it. ~ MC …. Med-Rare … is there any other way??? I also prefer charcoal grill to gas … I know it is not considered ‘healthy” but what can I say it’s just be best. Good mornin' ....... ..........

It lasted around 4 or 5 days then melted (around The Thanksgiving holiday) It's been in the 40s alot! (I'll take it)! By the looks of it we are heading to the 50s this weekend!!! BUT, It's dropping again right after. - It's Taco Tuesday so I know what I'm doing later! - Coffee is on - Come and get it --- ---

shezakeeper_2 San Antonio, TX 62, joined Jul. 2013	Eerie weather in Columbia, SC today ... 73* high humidity and dark dark clouds that seem to hang with the humidity and somewhat stillness in the air. It did finally rain and that helped but for us it isn't normal for Dec. And yes bikes were all over the place this weekend, people taking advantage of the nice weather. I don't blame them. I've not ridden in the snow but it was 33* in FLORIDA!!! Went down from Daytona at the March rally to see a shuttle launch. We had NOT packed for that kind of cold, I mean it was Florida, come on!!! ~ ~ ~ Some of the best stories in life are when things don't go as planned.
