 Well, if God is so powerful, and if we are so incapable of understanding him, then why does the Christian religion teach that if we don't believe in God, we will burn in Hell for all eternity. Let me explain what I'm getting at-- Suppose you are looking down at a tiny little blind earthworm that can't see you or hear you, much less understand what you and your life are all about. Now, suppose you look down at this earthworm, and you say, "Earthworm, you must believe in me, even though you can't see me or hear me, and even though your little earthworm mind is completely incapable of understanding me. And by the way earthworm, if you don't believe in me, then I will condemn you to burn in earthworm hell for all eternity." It would be grossly unfair for a man to pick on an earthworm like that. And yet, you expect me to believe that God is so much greater than man, that the difference far exceeds the difference between a man and an earthworm. And this great all powerful God is going to punish inferior little man for all eternity, for not knowing something that man can't possibly know for sure. It makes absolutely no sense to me that such a great and powerful being would be so petty.

actually, the church created the word and used hell over and over and over. so, blame some of those early translations of the Bible and direct them to those responsible. When man becomes smarter than God, or adds to and takes away from what Christians believe as his word, well... our morals and actions today define what happens when God is not in the picture.

thank goodness, we have so many scholars from so many religious denominations to interpret what was written so that we have a more correct as it was written.

 Hey phucq I am sofa king we todd did. Seriously, that's kind of my piont. I don't believe religion was built on the back of logic. So it does'nt make much sense to try to apply logical problem solving skills to the question of gods origin. Witch doctors, medicine men, shaman, priests, were all just trying to provide an explanation of the unknown and keep order to thier society (and empower themselves). I went to church till I was 7. I also loved dinasours. I did'nt get any good answers then but religion fans still try to rationalize that one away. I was shocked to learn that the toothfairy, the easter bunny and santa were not real. Am I to believe, after seeing how human minds operate that god is the exception to this rule? "You better not pout, you better not cry, you better not shout I'm telling you why, Jesus Christ is coming to town. I don't want to dizzy myself or anyone else like that lasturd dude but I hope you can see the pattern here. If I left my children unattended for so long I don't think I could consider myself a very good father, (unless I had confidence they were ok or I wanted them to weed each other out). Do I have to wait until I'm dead before I can find out how my creator wanted me to behave? I won't trust a conglomeration of slapped together notes that has been edited to suit a certain belief.
