Hm. I recall him saying that all the black women 'that he's dated' were the same, which could be possible. But you're correct, if there was a general blanket statement like that, then it would be out of line. I might have missed it.
In any event, my criticism was certainly not directed at you, per se. I mainly wished to respond to other posters that sound as if they might not be at all out of place at certain 'nationalist' rallies.

I am speaking from someone who has dated 1 black man in my life. I left and didn't turn back, in 1985 and to this day wish I would have stayed. He was the best thing that ever happened to me and I threw it away because at that time, racial issues were high and both of us had not even told our families we were dating, they wouldn't have approved. I wanted children and had talked to several college mates that were from biracial back grounds and all said they never felt accepted by either side of their families. In any case, that is what I did, proud or not. I'm seriously thinking of dating more men that are of a different race at this time in my life, I know that what matters is the heart.

Sweetpea, I understand exactly what you are saying. Family can make things uncomfortable. I have dated both white and black men. There are good guys and dogs in every race, do I have a preference, no. However I think society does, I get so much flack dating white men. Oh well the shit will hit the fan if I marry this one.

I didnt say that all black women were the same! I said from my experiences with the few that I have dated. For myself I am just more attracted to white women both mentally and physically.

Katie Scarlett a lot of people won't understand your comments but I do. There are just certain things that are unspoken is some cultures and this is one of them. There are some girls in the South that do date black men but it can lead to a high price also. I think many people assume that "oh your a racist and you hate black people" that is completely untrue Being from Mississippi is a completely different experience than someone that is a non Southerner. Mississippi has the highest black population demographically than any other state because most stayed in the South after the civil war. which my point is that in other areas of the country excluding major cities have not had the experience of being around that many black people so they view things in a different light. Many blacks as well do not cross that color line because of what family member might say so its on both sides. it just seems that white people get more attention for what some might think is a racist attitude. We in the South have lived, worked and have been educated right beside black people for many years, I was not rasied to hate anyone, we are very humble but proud people I suspose that it might change one day but problably not at the rate of the rest of the nation but in answer to the original question yes many white women would get much grief from family over an interacially union of black and white ......

if you have something between your ears then you will look beyond race and view human race as equals.

Let me ask you something....why are you attracted to white women? Are you outruling black women? I believe there is still plenty of the uneducated mind set of what people might say, especially where they are from and if they were under the unspoken rule, right or wrong, that this isn't done or acceptable. I came from this background and never thought I would cross the line and at a late age(55)attractive, well respected, successful etc. I met a black male and as I grew to know him as a person I did not see color any longer and I don't have to tell you the rest. Much to my surprise we as a couple were accepted by the social and business group for the most part. So with my own experience with this, it was a wonderful educational experience that I am glad I got to experience first hand, and with it I have changed my whole views on the subject.This seperation is slowly becoming a thing of the past and I am surprised you are running into this in a large city and in your age group. I have noticed the educated or the lower class do not have much of a barier here. More of the middle class, but not so much in your age group. If you are really insisting on targeting this race, have patience, they are out there and they will be availabe. Your social,educational, and or business settings could play a big role in your opportunities.

In my observation of black men dating white women they tend to choose a certain body type as well. The women in this area that date black men are usually pretty obese, you don't often see a really slender woman with a black man. I have often thought he could find a much more attractive black woman than the one he has that is white. TO me it is not a status symbol for a black man to have an obese white girl on his arm I have also noticed that quite a few white women that date blacks only will emulate being black they pick up the dialect and dress more ethnic in nature. I find this quite interesting

I'm thirty-five years old. I'm fairly far past worrying about whether daddy will still give me my allowance if I make him mad.
If it was an issue that meant a lot to me, then I wouldn't worry about my family. But I'm not going to upset them, piss them off and/or alienate myself from them for someone I haven't even met yet. That's just ridiculous.
