We all have pet peeves. What are some of yours as it relates to being in a relationship? For me...my "pet peeves that'll make me leave a relationship" are:

1. He loses his charm (you know...that suave demeanor that tickled my senses and my heart?)

2. Nagging or fighting (either way...it grates on my nerves and reduces romantic and sensual closeness. Playful banter is one thing, occassional disagreements are to be expected. But CONSTANT??? Ugh...I might as well stay away and grab a beer or shot of whiskey with my friends to unwind. Peace...baby...peace and love is what I want to receive after a long day at work. NOT nagging! Lol)

3. He stops "putting out" daily and on the regular (Look....I don't care if we're not seeing "eye to eye" that day. I'm horny, I'm in a committed relationship with you...so compartmentalize like I can, so that we can at least "share a moment physically" even if we are at odds emotionally or mentally. I can compartmentalize love and sex. Lol Love in sex is great! Yet there will be days you don't feel very "loving" to your significant other. This is normal. All I'm saying is it shouldn't effect the bedroom. When it does...real problems set in)

So there's my main pet peeve list. Yours?

I've learned that if you live together, separate bathrooms are a MUST. I haven't found a self retracting toilet seat yet and I don't need feminine hygiene products in my medicine cabinet. lol

@ Bill...I agree. Not sure about living with a man though lol It would take some getting used to. Had my own place for about ten years now. I do enjoy love and relationships...but also relish my alone timwle and sending them home after the loving sex is over. lol (Yes! I do allow the man I'm involved with to sleep over. Occassionally

@ Gingerbread...so very true!

My biggest pet peeve is lack of good communication or shutting me out. The other big one is when the woman I'm with, avoids arguments, debates or topics of potential conflict. I rather just get it out of the way instead of avoid and hope it might go away. I understand needing to cool down but not running away from it. The other one is not having enough sex on a regular basis.

I can't stand it when a man comes over and acts like he owns my place, and forgets that he is a guest. I think if I ever have to live with a man again, I need my own bathroom. The crap they leave behind in the sink and loose toenails on the floor are awful, as is sitting on a cold bowl and feeling water on your cheeks because some douche bag forgot to put the seat down.

I guess some of mine would be:
1. Being ignored so he can watch TV, play video games, or be on the computer all the time
2. Constant insults/attacks/antagonism designed to pick an argument so the insults/attacks/antagonism can continue.
3. Not respecting my house/car/furniture. I've worked hard for what I have, so don't leave crumbs, stains and messes all over my stuff.
4. Being insulting about how I am raising my kids. They are both good kids; one an excellent student that's planning to go to a gifted high school for her last two years and the other an excellent athlete and decent young man.
5. Apathy about me and the relationship.

I guess all of the above boils down to not respecting me enough.

I hate the silent treatment. I think it is cowardly. I need a man who can be confronted and still respond to me with respect. Ignoring someone is just plain controlling.

Same here.

*Being rude, whether it be to me or others in general.
*Constant arguing/nagging..every relationships have issues that arise, but discuss them, find a common ground, and move on.
*Being selfish and unwilling to compromise

So you don't like PDA"s? I can understand the people who are practically f**king in public but I see nothing wrong with a sweet gentle kiss or holding hands or putting your arm around each others waist in public. If a female I was with didn't even like that it would make me feel as if she was ashamed for the world to know I was her boyfriend.

1. A man who is constantly on his monthly cycle. Moodiness for me, is a huge turnoff!
2. Folding my bed pillows in half. This drives me nuts.
3. A passive-aggressive personality is a huge turn-off. A man who has the 'balls' to tell you when you're wrong when it's merited is a huge turn on!
4. Laying on my bed without showering after a game of b-ball.
5. Stink feet.

I tend to stay in a relationship until the other person indicates he wants me gone. However, spending time with another woman when I was on complete bed rest and not being willing to help me get to a Dr. when I was having a miscarriage with his baby was a breaking point for me. He knew I needed a ride to the hospital, and told me I would have to find someone else. Not sure why he thought I was wrong for moving out after getting out of the hospital.

Thank you all for posting your thoughts. I read through all of them and found many common themes. Here are just a few:

1. communication (lack)
2. clingyness, physical or emotional neediness (above and beyond what one might deem 'acceptable)
3. Critical (from the way one drives to what they wear or places they go)

Again...enjoyed reading all responses. Thank you!
