If people would stop posting in deliberately offensive threads -- you know, the ones meant to hurt people -- they'd be pushed to the bottom and forgotten about in minutes. Now, if you're counting threads where someone asks a hypothetical and it's racially driven, tough shit. Just block the ignorant ones, problem solved. Just remember, people have opinions, you don't have to agree with them. Half the problem with these boards is that people take having an opinion way too far. Then, out come the slurs. Or they misconstrue what was meant as a legitimate debate and assumed the OP's were baiting. Either way... Your best bet is to just block the deliberately ignorant people and avoid the threads where there may be a firestorm if it bothers you.

Many have suggested it is on purpose, because the "cat fights" add a certain amount of entertainment value, and it is possible that eliminating all the posters who indulge in this, would be deleterious to the financial aspect of this site. (The more people signed up, the better for the site). As far as racist remarks... I think that operating from racism (or any sort of "ism", for the most part) is illogical, and counterproductive to society. However, I do uphold 1st amendment rights (freedom of speech) over "political correctness" (which I deem a form of censorship). While, on the one hand, it is not good for negative attitudes to be perpetuated, on the other hand, it is better that they be honestly and openly expressed, than being part of a hidden agenda.
