Some are saying I provoked this attack. But to kowtow to violent intimidation will only encourage more of it. Sunday in Garland, Texas, a police officer was wounded in a battle that is part of a longstanding war: the war against the freedom of speech. Some people are blaming me for the Garland shooting — so I want to address that here. The shooting happened at my American Freedom Defense Initiative Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest, when two Islamic jihadists armed with rifles and explosives drove up to the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland and attempted to gain entry to our event, which was just ending. We were aware of the risk and spent thousands of dollars on security — and it paid off. The jihadis at our free speech event were not able to achieve their objective of replicating the massacre at the offices of the Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine last January — and to go it one better in carnage. They were not able to kill anyone. We provided enormous security, in concert with the superb Garland police department. The men who took the aspiring killers down may have saved hundreds of lives. And make no mistake: If it weren’t for the free-speech conference, these jihadis would have struck somewhere else — a place where there was less security, like the Lindt cafe in Australia or the Hyper Cacher Kosher supermarket in Paris. So, why are some people blaming me? They’re saying: “Well, she provoked them! She got what she deserved!” They don’t remember, or care to remember, that as the jihadis were killing the Muhammad cartoonists in Paris, their friend and accomplice was murdering Jews in a nearby kosher supermarket. Were the Jews asking for it? Did they “bait” the jihadis? Were they “provoking” them? Are the Jews responsible for the Nazis? Are the Christians in the Middle East responsible for being persecuted by Muslims? Drawing Muhammad offends Islamic jihadists? So does being Jewish. How much accommodation of any kind should we give to murderous savagery? To kowtow to violent intimidation will only encourage more of it. This is a war. Now, after the Charlie Hebdo attack, and after the Garland attack, what are we going to do? Are we going to surrender to these monsters? The attack in Garland showed that everything my colleagues and I have been warning about regarding the threat of jihad, and the ways in which it threatens our liberties, is true. Islamic law, Sharia, with its death penalty for blasphemy, today constitutes a unique threat to the freedom of speech and liberty in general. Freedom of speech is the foundation of a free society. Without it, a tyrant can wreak havoc unopposed, while his opponents are silenced. Putting up with being offended is essential in a pluralistic society in which people differ on basic truths. If a group will not stand for being offended without resorting to violence, that group will rule unopposed, while everyone else lives in fear. Islamic law as it’s interpreted by extremists forbids criticism of Islam, the Quran, and Muhammad. If they cannot be criticized in the United States, we are in effect accepting Islamic law as overriding the freedom of speech. This would establish Muslims as a protected class and prevent honest discussion of how Islamic jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence. Some say that “hate speech” should be censored. But what constitutes “hate speech” is a subjective judgment that is unavoidably influenced by the political perspective of the one doing the judging. Allowing this sort of censorship would mean nothing less civilizational suicide. Many in the media and academic elite assign no blame to an ideology that calls for death to blasphemers — i.e., those who criticize or offend Islam. Instead, they target and blame those who expose this fanaticism. If the cultural elites directed their barbs and attacks at the extremist doctrine of jihad, the world would be a vastly safer place. You can try to avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality. The shootings in Garland, Paris, and Copenhagen targeting defenders of free speech, and the raging jihad across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, are the disastrous consequences of avoiding reality. I encourage all Americans to watch the videos of the Garland event and see what Islamic supremacists wish to silence: basic, elemental free speech arguments. But we are unbowed. Even when the venue was in lockdown and hundreds of attendees were ushered down into the auditorium, the crowd was singing the Star Spangled Banner and G-d Bless America. In the face of fear, they were staunchly and uniquely American. To learn who rules over you, simply find out whom you cannot criticize. If the international media had run the Danish cartoons back in 2005, none of this could have happened. The jihadis wouldn’t have been able to kill everyone. But by self-censoring, the media gave the jihadis the power they have today. We must take back our freedom.

MILLIKEN - The Hispanic owners of a barbecue restaurant in Milliken say they plan to host a "White Appreciation Day" next month. What started as a joke is now on the calendar. Edgar Antillon and Miguel Jimenez recently purchased Rubbin Buttz BBQ on Broad Street. On June 11, they plan to offer a 10 percent discount to all white customers and no one else. "We have a whole month for Black History Month," Antillon said. "We have a whole month for Hispanic Heritage Month, so we thought the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate white Americans." The men expect they might receive backlash, and say they realize there's a history of racism in the America. "It's a perpetuation of racism," Weld County civil rights activist and community organizer Ricardo Romero said. "It's wrong. If you're going to give a discount, give it to the whole community." There could be legal repercussions as well, according to Jennifer McPherson of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. "If someone felt like they were being discriminated against, they could come to the civil rights division and file a complaint in our office, and we would investigate that," McPherson said. Antillon says the discount isn't meant to discriminate, but instead bring people together. He added that he has been the target of racism in the past. He hopes opening up the discussion will prompt others to think differently about race. "We're all American, whether you came from a different country or you were born here," Antillon said. "We're all American." Antillon said he would consider offering a discount to other racial groups, but said it's unlikely to actually happen.

Donny Ray Williams is a former Democrat congressional aide who, last year, pleaded guilty to raping two women. According to reports, in 2010, Williams subdued his first victim, an intern, by drugging her with Ambien before assaulting her. Later that year, he claimed his second victim, who was too drunk to give proper consent. However, due to an unrelated incident, Williams will not be serving any jail time. In 2013, as Williams was walking down Washington Street, a man attacked him by pouring acid on his face and body. Williams suffered disfiguring and debilitating injuries from the attack. Judge Robert Morin, who was reported to be somewhat reluctant to handing down this soft sentence, justified it by saying that Williams “was a victim of an independent crime and has serious medical issues.” (H/T UFP News) After the attack, Williams was left blind in one eye with terrible second- and third-degree burns that put him in the hospital for two months. He has undergone nearly 20 surgeries with more scheduled. Currently, he has a large protuberance on the top of his head where doctors have implanted a rod to stretch the skin and aid in the healing process. Williams believes that the attack may have been perpetrated by the jealous boyfriend of a woman he was seeing at the time. As far as the two rapes go, Williams, who had denied the allegations in the past, pleaded guilty claiming that he needed to focus on his health after the attack and not a trial. “How easy it is for men to use power to abuse,” Williams said in court. “Rape is cowardly, shameful and downright evil. I promise, I will protect a woman’s right to her own body.” Williams, who says he is now $1 million in debt and jobless, began his career at the Capitol in 1999. He spent years working with politicians such as Sen. Mary Landrieu and Sen. Herb Kohl. He also worked in the Obama administration as the general deputy assistant secretary for congressional and intergovernmental relations in the Department of Housing and Urban Development between April 2009 and October 2010, and served as a staff director for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee. While the attack on Williams is tragic and the injuries he suffered horrible, it in no way excuses the barbaric acts he performed on his innocent victims. In much the same way his attacker took Williams’ eyesight, Williams took something from those two woman that they can never get back. This is just another case of political correctness winning out over common sense. Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth. Yes, folks, Mt.Pinatubo was active for over one year - think about it. Of course, I shouldn't spoil this 'touchy-feely tree-hugging' moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change. And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the bush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year. Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the bogus 'human-caused' climate-change scenario. Hey, isn't it interesting how they don't mention 'Global Warming' anymore, but just "Climate Change" - you know why? It's because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming bull**** artists got caught with their pants down. And, just keep in mind that you might yet be stuck with an Emissions Trading Scheme - that whopping new tax - imposed on you that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer. Dexter Allen, a 17-year-old promising high school student, near the top of his class and hoping to be accepted at Harvard this fall, was arrested this week along with an accomplice for the execution-style murder of a father and son in Metairie, LA. They were apparently pushed over the edge by the openly racist behavior of the two white family members. Al Sharpton and Loretta Lynch will be on the scene in Metarie over the weekend leading the charge to free these two promising members of the black community and to make sure an investigation of the white neighborhood where the father and son lived is launched. At least 100 DoJ civil rights lawyers will be in Metarie next week. No, we didn’t cut and paste that from The Onion. We did it all by ourselves and we’re not even through with our first cup of coffee. The only part of the first paragraph that’s accurate is that two black thugs murdered a white father and son. The rest is simply cultural commentary that, in today’s ObamaCulture, isn’t that far fetched. David and Nicholas Pence were murdered by two black thugs they’d apparently never met, and for no apparent reason. The Sheriff noted that neither of the thugs had a police record that indicated that kind of violence could be expected, but obviously one of them – the female driver – had been arrested because her prints were on file. The alleged killers were on a crime spree. Stolen cars, armed robbery, murder. While we don’t expect much in the way of commentary by the Obama administration or Sharpton, we are very confident that any commentary that comes from the Race Industry will be in the form of “this was a horrible incident, BUT…” and that will be followed by excuses and enabling. The murder victims will be forgotten. Buried and ignored. The two black thugs who butchered them will likely get a plea deal and a 20-to-life sentence, and life in Metarie will simply go on. What will be forgotten – or more likely just ignored – is that their behavior was not unusual for their ilk. The only thing that could possibly be racked up as “unusual” is that they murdered two white people rather two members of their own thug community. And if they’d done the latter, we – along with everybody else – would be ignoring this story because it would be just another day in the black “community.” Hey Mr. President! How about a conversation about black crime that doesn’t involve ignoring the fact that your community is raising thugs and that the policies of your party enables and encourages this kind of criminal behavior.

But there was something very telling and disturbing about the funeral of Officer Brian Moore. Established in 2011, the non-profit organization is Hawaii’s state-based health exchange for the President’s Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. There are currently about 37,000 Hawaiians enrolled in health care plans through the exchange, far short of the roughly 70,000 needed to raise enough money to sustain it, the article reports. Officials with the exchange released a report to its board of directors on Friday declaring that the state-based marketplace simply does not have the money to continue operations, the article stated. "Now that it is clear that the state will not provide sufficient support for the Hawaii Health Connector's operations through fiscal year 2016 (ending June 30, 2016), the Connector can no longer operate in a manner that would cause it to incur additional debts or other obligations for which it is unable to pay," the report read, according to the article. The HHC will halt all new enrollments on Friday, May 15, the article reported. The organization will also discontinue outreach services on May 31 and officially transfer to a temporary state-run system by Sept. 30. The organization’s 32 current employees, 29 temporary staff, and 12 full-time contractors will all lose their jobs by Feb. 28 of next year. And as we all know, liberals are fragile flowers who can never be presented with things that could hurt their feelings, so it’s crucial for us to ignore truth and pander to their whims and emotions. But this Chick isn’t into pandering. As Downtrend notes, Business Insider recently published a report detailing the world’s most violent cities. Four of those cities were in the United States. Can you guess which ones? St. Louis, Detroit, New Orleans and Baltimore. Four cities that have been controlled by liberals and their policies. And four cities that have an interesting demographic. All four cities have a predominately black population. Surely some hypersensitive race baiters will call me a racist for calling attention to that. But I say it because it’s proof. Proof that liberalism has FAILED the African American community. Between championing unions, delivering a less than desirable education system and promoting a lifestyle of mediocrity, liberal policies have torn these families and cities apart. They’ve torn the black family apart and replaced it with government dependence, and they add fuel to the fire by sending folks on trigger word tangents. Now, being responsible and loving your country is “acting white.” This isn’t about racism. This is about the liberalism's destruction of the black nuclear family. They say “the man” is keeping them down. Many children in these urban cities are taught that they were wronged and that society owes them.? There’s an entitlement mentality, pushed by a culture of greed, hate and disrespect. It should also be noted that Chicago– another liberal cesspool– is the most segregated city in America. Poverty and crime rates in these cities, like Detroit, Chicago and Ferguson aren’t a result of “too many white officers” or the so-called “hate crimes.” These unfortunate statistics should be blamed on the failure of the community to take responsibility for the way they’re raising their children. It’s simple. Poverty and crime in city culture has been perpetuated by the breakup of the nuclear family. Interestingly enough, these inner cities–hubs of African American poverty and escalated violence– are led the very people who claim to help them and “understand” their cause: Black liberal Democrats. Chicago activists and recognized leaders in their community Paul McKinley, Mark Carter, Joseph Watkins and Harold “Noonie” Ward recently came out and spoke about the true problem in the African American community. “They (black leaders) forced us into a life of welfare, we don’t welfare,” Carter said. “We want opportunities to go to work, we want opportunities to own businesses.” "We’re always talking about what the Republican’s ain’t done for us, but my life has been hurt by democrats,” Watkins added, “this lot where I stand right now, Ida B. Wells, where public housing residents used to live at, most of the people are homeless living in the street, it’s because of you Mr. President." Liberals fail these cities. Then they blame conservatives. Liberals fail the African American community. And they blame it on institutional racism. Oh. And remember how Obama suggested that the chaos in Baltimore could have been partially avoided if we simply gave more money to urban communities? I guess that $1.8 billion didn’t count. The real reason minority groups can’t get ahead is because of liberals and their bogus, tried-and-failed policies. They squash all incentive and propagate the idea that everything is someone else’s fault. After all, individual responsibility is passé.

According to the NYPost, Al Sharpton’s oldest daughter, Dominique Sharpton, is suing the city for a tumble she took last year at the corner of Broome Street and Broadway downtown. She claims she was “severely injured, bruised and wounded” and apparently, $5 million will make everything all better. Let that sink in for a second. She’s suing the city $5 million for a sprained ankle. Currently on vacation in Bali, the membership director for her gadfly dad’s National Action Network claims she “still suffers and will continue to suffer for some time physical pain and bodily injuries,” according to the suit filed against the city departments of Transportation and Environmental Protection. “I sprained my ankle real bad lol,” she wrote in a post to Instagram after the Oct. 2 fall. She was pictured in a walking boot in the weeks following the tumble, but by December, Dominique was good to go for NAN’s Justice for All march in Washington, DC, and for a New Year’s Eve jaunt to Miami Beach. Despite her pain and suffering, there are social media photos floating around of her wearing high heels like it’s nothing. Oh, and hiking mountains. Because God knows EVERYONE does that with severely injured ankles. And let me just say. You CAN’T wear high heels with a jacked up ankle. It doesn’t work that way. On Saturday, Sharpton went all, “Hey she’s 29 years old. I have nothing to do with this!” “She’s 29 years old. She was left with “internal and external injuries to the whole body, lower and upper limbs, the full extent of which are unknown, permanent pain and mental anguish,” she alleges. The younger Sharpton is seeking the damages for “loss of quality of life, future pain and suffering, future medical bills, [and] future diminution of income,” according to court papers.
