Who's coming to dinner? I need to know how many plates to set. The main dish is a turkey wrapped in bacon and basted with maple syrup. NOT Aunt Jemima maple syrup, but real maple syrup!
I think Sunday dinners are the best and I look forward to it every week. I like to make a bigger meal and something a little special if possible. I like to stick around the house cooking and watching the race or watching football, baseball etc...

I'll bring the chocolate covered bacon and my beautiful fruit salad in a truffle bowl for desert! Just don't let me near the basting process of that bird, I might just lick it clean before it goes in the oven Can't help it I'm a freak for anything maple
My lifestyle has changed to the extreme the past 3 years from what it was for most of my adult life. Once upon beyond the 3.5 years ago most weekends spent at the kids sports tournaments, pool parties in the back yard, house full of kids and tons of food to prepare for our always comical dinner conversations adventures to the mountains and beach BBQing ...
At this point I only imagine what or how I would like to spend my weekends (or days off) as how I am living my life currently is not a reflection of what I like or how I plan on spending that time in the near future ...
I imagine sundays to be spent with friends BBQing, good music and laughter, Pot Lucks, strolling yard sales, spending time with my daughter and her husband at their home while they prepare amazing culinary delights (both are amazing cooks and entertainers) packing up the camping gear after an enjoyable group camping trip with like minds ... I'm not much for routine

Hoooooooly smokes! Look at the sodium and fat content of that bad boy! With all that who cares about the top bun, you might as well eat it as well. That whole sandwich is a heart attack on a bun.
The only way you can possibly save this meal is by washing it down with a diet soda.

No soda, no fries and this is the meal of the day and it's 1:15pm. It's a treat that's not oft enjoyed.
I've had one little clementine and a 5.4 oz tub of Grape Nuts/granola mix/bite sized Shredded Wheat and coconut milk.
I should weigh-in less in the morn than today.

Well yeah, I guess you could fit in the sandwich with the little amount you've eaten so far. Just watch that sodium or you'll be bloated! lol Your diet reminds me of mine though, I always make room for "treats". I think you need to or you won't be successful. As long as you're eating well on a regular basis those treats don't make you gain weight anyways.

I don't eat a lot, but I do not starve either. On occasions I'll have a small bowl, standard 5.3 oz plastic yogurt tub, of ice creme.
I do not enjoy that on a day w/hamburger. If I had been gaining weight I would not eat a burger. You're correct about the sodium retaining weight. But, that's water weight that will pass w/time. I never salt anything because everything already has too much sodium.
Same goes for sugar. Tea is always unsweetened & the only extra sugar cereal receives is in the granola mix, that's used sparingly, as well as dried cranberries/raisins.
Me brother brings me damaged boxes of cereal at discount, along w/granola mix, but I prefer the no salt no sugar Bite size Shredded Wheat or Cheerios.
I still enjoy a Sprite/7-up/Ginger ale out of the new 7.5oz cans. Ninety calories of bubbly sugar maybe once a week. Twice is rare as I generally drink tea. Because I enjoy the taste and it is a mild diuretic.
I still use 1/4 cup of half-n-half in me coffee. No amount of weight savings is worth giving that up. It's important to maintain a positive attitude. I'm fairly content where I'm at weight wise, I am in the second semester of the third year, though another six lbs lost would allow me to grin from ear to ear as a mule eatin' briars.

Ok well, you're a bit more disciplined than I am when it comes to sugar. I still drink a 20 oz bottle of Diet Pepsi every day and have about 3 cups of tea with 2 milks and three sugars. I like to say that that's why I'm so sweet.
But I'm very good otherwise and so far it really hasn't presented itself to be a problem. There's just something about those two things, I'm just not willing to give up or change in any way. But good job to you, sounds like you're doing great!

I feel as if some things are required for a healthy mind whilst on a diet. That has since turned into a lifestyle.
I do not look forward to 50-60 minutes on the treadmill.
I do look forward and enjoy a large thermal mug of coffee/Half n Half/vanilla/coca.
There's still a couple of 1.5 quart "half gallons" of ice creme in the freezer. I must finish those before redeeming me three free coupons on Blue Bell.

the Institute of Medicine, which helps set government nutrition recommendations, decided that people should try to take in about 1,500 milligrams (mg) of sodium daily, with an upper limit of 2,300 mg. Before, they recommended no more than 2,400 mg.
The recommendation for sodium intake is less than 2,300 mg/day for adults. This equals about one teaspoon of table salt. Most people consume far too much sodium through processed foods and table salt, therefore, this recommendation is set at an upper limit.

I used to work 60 hours a week, then spend the weekend tending to the ranch and trying to plan time for my other interests, usually with a house and yard full of kids most weekends.
I still get them hanging out, my son and his buddies, my daughters and grandkids when they can. It's nice to have the kids grown so they can do the cooking!
A quiet Sunday here so far, my son and his buddy that lives with us camped out at another friend's place in town so they could see some action, I have really seen enough!
We aren't afraid to cook and usually any food we might buy to go is pizzas or fried chicken, everything else is home made.

Well I just took that low salt bird out of the oven. Pay no attention to the butter and bacon, it's all gooooood.
Dasnixter (I think that's your name) I wanted to ask you what you do while you're on the treadmill because I have a blast when I'm on mine. I just make sure that I have all my favorite music ready and I'm good to go for an hour or more with PLEASURE. I listen to hard rock or heavy metal because I find that the more aggressive tone of the music makes me work harder. If I was watching t.v. like a lot of people I'd be bored I think.

So did you weigh in less today like you thought you would?
Yes I did, 161.5 I figured 162, but this being grocery day I've enjoyed a bit more.
5.4 oz cereal, clementine, apple, steak & potato, salad w/cheese and two slices of roast beef, BLT, couple of handfuls of red grapes, banana, butter cookie, 4-5 nacho chips, apricot raspberry cookie. six almonds, four chocolate covered espresso beans and this beer.
That's OK, in the morn I'll be back on the treadmill for 2.3 miles.
