Sorry, but Christ never came to establish a Christian nation.
Lets look at the definition of what a "nation" is:

the nations of Central America.
3.

So, is the Kingdom of God like that?
Many in the time of Jesus looked for that. A Messiah come to restore the Nation of Israel and bring it to freedom from Roman oppression and rule. In fact, the Pharisees asked Jesus about that.
And this is what he told them :
Luke 17 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
20 And having been questioned by the Pharisees, when the reign of God doth come, he answered them, and said, `The reign of God doth not come with observation;
21 nor shall they say, Lo, here; or lo, there; for lo, the reign of God is within you.'
Notice:
-`The reign of God doth not come with observation". so it is not something that can be seen.
-"nor shall they say, Lo, here; or lo, there; for lo, the reign of God is within you.'", so it is something that is "in you", a spiritual meaning and not a kingdom ruled as kingdom like mans are.
This was so important, Jesus even called Peter Satan, when he, like many of his day, misunderstood what Jesus was teaching about when he was talking about "Gods kingdom".
And thought it was about a nation like mans kingdoms are.
Matthew 16:20-24Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
20 Then did he charge his disciples that they may say to no one that he is Jesus the Christ.
21 From that time began Jesus to shew to his disciples that it is necessary for him to go away to Jerusalem, and to suffer many things from the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and to be put to death, and the third day to rise.
22 And having taken him aside, Peter began to rebuke him, saying, `Be kind to thyself, sir; this shall not be to thee;'
23 and he having turned, said to Peter, `Get thee behind me, adversary! thou art a stumbling-block to me, for thou dost not mind the things of God, but the things of men.'
-"thou art a stumbling-block to me, for thou dost not mind the things of God, but the things of men".
See, he did not understand the meanings of Christs teachings.
And again when Jesus was being tempted by the Adversary, Jesus was pretty clear on where he stood when it came to Nationalism and "nations" such as what men seek.
Here we see the "adversary" offering , "all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them"
Matthew 4:1-11 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
7 Jesus said to him again, `It hath been written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.'
8 Again doth the Devil take him to a very high mount, and doth shew to him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them,
9 and saith to him, `All these to thee I will give, if falling down thou mayest bow to me.'
10 Then saith Jesus to him, `Go -- Adversary, for it hath been written, The Lord thy God thou shalt bow to, and Him only thou shalt serve.'
- "all the kingdoms"
But Jesus answered : "`Go -- Adversary, for it hath been written, The Lord thy God thou shalt bow to, and Him only thou shalt serve".
He is saying the same thing to the adversary that he said to Peter. That he was not here to start a kingdom like man kinds are, rather only Gods, 'which is with in us".
As we already read in :
Luke 17 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
20 And having been questioned by the Pharisees, when the reign of God doth come, he answered them, and said, `The reign of God doth not come with observation;
21 nor shall they say, Lo, here; or lo, there; for lo, the reign of God is within you.'
Now Jesus understood quite well what it meant to be "under authority". He made that clear when talking to his nations enemy the Roman Centurion. He well understood that we have a obligation to mans kingdoms, and that he as a Soldier was under Rome, "Caesar".
Mark 12:17 Young's Literal Translation
and Jesus answering said to them, 'Give back the things of Caesar to Caesar, and the things of God to God;' and they did wonder at him.
So, was Jesus contradicting him self ? Not at all, because we know form the passages mentioned earlier, that Jesus was about a "spiritual" kingdom and not a "physical" or kingdom offered to him by the adversary". And the story about the Roman Centurion brings this home. That man served Caesar, and Roman Caesars, were even considered to be Gods !
But rather than admonish the Soldier, he did quite the opposite:

Matthew 8:5-13 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
5 And Jesus having entered into Capernaum, there came to him a centurion calling upon him,
6 and saying, `Sir, my young man hath been laid in the house a paralytic, fearfully afflicted,'
7 and Jesus saith to him, `I, having come, will heal him.'
8 And the centurion answering said, `Sir, I am not worthy that thou mayest enter under my roof, but only say a word, and my servant shall be healed;
9 for I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth, and to another, Be coming, and he cometh, and to my servant, Do this, and he doth [it].'
10 And Jesus having heard, did wonder, and said to those following, `Verily I say to you, not even in Israel so great faith have I found;
11 and I say to you, that many from east and west shall come and recline (at meat) with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the reign of the heavens,
12 but the sons of the reign shall be cast forth to the outer darkness -- there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.'
13 And Jesus said to the centurion, `Go, and as thou didst believe let it be to thee;' and his young man was healed in that hour.
Look at how he answered the Roman Soldier, the one who served the enemy of his people, the enemy of his nation Israel, the one who served Caesar who was considered to be a "God".
"10 And Jesus having heard, did wonder, and said to those following, `Verily I say to you, not even in Israel so great faith have I found;"
Why, did Jesus call Peter the 'adversary" for mixing up Gods kingdom with mans, but then heap the highest praise on a soldier who served, a ruler that called him self,"God"?
Because the Centurion "got it", he realized he served mans kingdoms and that Christ was here for something else all together.
Matthew 8:8-9Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
8 And the centurion answering said, `Sir, I am not worthy that thou mayest enter under my roof, but only say a word, and my servant shall be healed;
9 for I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth, and to another, Be coming, and he cometh, and to my servant, Do this, and he doth [it].'
No wonder Jesus "did wonder" and was like some translations say, "marveled", and recognized the great "faith", more than 'in all Israel". Because his own people, his followers did not understand the difference between Gods kingdoms and theirs, but a Roman Soldier did.
And that is, the kingdom of God is a spiritual one, and not a Physical one like mans with flags etc.

Can you elaborate as to why you say that?
Within its context, not outside?
Thank you.
I can . We're animals , its survival of the fittest . The only thing that makes us human .
Is knowing that we don't want to be animals anymore .
Buisiness is all about getting the upper hand , same as survival .

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
In most every so-called "sovereign" nation around the world they play the Patriot Game, like you are playing above, pledging allegiance to their flags and their countries and getting all pumped up emotionally and waving their flags and marching off to war.
Flags are the bane of mankind. Flags get people killed. All flags should be banned and burned, every one of them, ours, theirs, all of them. Get rid of them. During the start of the First Gulf War a lady told me her flag was "flying proudly." I told her that flags don't have pride, the pride was in her, and the bible has NOTHING good to say about pride. And no, our nation is not "indivisible." Time will prove that our nation is very divisible. Nations don't last forever, they come and go like actors on a stage. Nations are transient human constructs. Pledging one's allegiance to a transient human construct is surely not wise. If one is 5 years old, sure, say the Pledge, but if one is a full grown adult, think about it.

Funny the pledge was written by a minister's son, Francis Bellamy who saw no reason to include god in it.

It wasn't actually even written for the U.S., it was generic for any nation.
In it's original form "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
The only very remote reference to religion is possibly the last stanza "with liberty and justice for all"
That we as a nation have the liberty to practice any religion peacefully we see fit so long as we do not infringe on other's rights and liberties.
A concept Trump and his trumpites should familiarize themselves with.

The United States will not last forever. Nations come and go. A lot of people realize that this can happen. Did you know that 6 nukes spaced out and exploded in an EMP attack over the US, 200 miles up, will knock the electricity out for 10 years? Every electric and electronic thing would be fried. We'd be back to 1880 in a literal flash. If it happens in the daytime you might not even notice the moment it happens. No one would die from the nukes and no property would be destroyed directly, but there would be no lights, no heat, no air conditioning, no cell phones, no ATM machines, no gasoline, no cars no jet planes, no computers, no food, no nothing. Everything we have in our high tech society would collapse. We'd have a modern Dark Ages. Can you survive without electricity and with marauding bands raping and pillaging? The first to go would be the cops, they'd be sitting ducks for all the nut jobs with guns and a grudge to settle. In the first year, 90% of all Americans would be dead from starvation, disease, and civil unrest. And what a time for a breakup of the country. You should get up to speed on this, and no, I am not "projecting" and it wouldn't matter if I was. Google it: EMP attack. This is real and it's a cheap and easy way for the Russians or the Chinese or the North Koreans to put us out of business without destroying a single city. We could go from 300 million to 30 million living in the dark around campfires in one year.

I can certainly see that. We even see that trend with in Christianity let alone in Politics. Polarization is just as bad in it, and with many Religious groups pushing a Political agenda? It will occur.
I see it my nation as well.
You know, after the Islamist threat, the next biggest threat to Christians religious freedom actually is Christianity. Atheists , agnostics , Bhuddists do not try and interfere with religious freedom. But other Christians do.
There will be a back lash for sure. Just a matter of time. You are right on here.

First was the threat of Judaism.
Second was the threat of Islam.
Christianity, as a whole, is not a threat, but a redemption.
Face it--Islam is set to take over the religious stage once again. Islam is the 2nd most populous religion in the world, after Christianity.
Islam has an open opportunity to gain a number 1 foothold in the world. Muslims, on average, are younger and multiplying childbirth rates are quickly accelerating their position in religious followers.
Unless Christians want to be "quashed" by the Islamic State they need to become unified in their faith and 'get the true Word of God' out to the world.

First was the threat of Judaism.
Second was the threat of Islam.
Christianity, as a whole, is not a threat, but a redemption.

Every single Theocracy in the world ends the same way.
First they crush the non members, and then they start on their fellow ones who they disagree with.
Happened with the Catholic Theocracies in the past and it is the same in the Islamic ones today.
The hot heads always get control.
Unified Christianity? Does not exist.
Heck, Atheists are not a threat to religious freedom. But other Christians are. Who wants the power to tell one denomination who they are allowed to marry or not? Only two groups. Radical Islam with their Sharia law and right wing Evangelicals who want a Christian version of Sharia law.

Harumph!
Totally unbiased, from an atheists viewpoint?
Answer this, please.
If an atheist believes in nothing why are they so vocal about those who do?

I said "from an atheists viewpoint".

So what if they do?
Don`t we Christians not rag on them?
The fact is, they are not out to stop us going to the church that we choose. I have never seen an Atheist mob, protest funerals or try and get laws telling a Church who they are allowed to marry or not.
But the Evangelical right wing movement does support :
- telling other Christians who they are allowed to marry
- Trump, who wants to disallow Muslims, card the ones that are here just like Hitler did
- encourage discrimination against Gays
So, who are the biggest threats to freedom of Religion? Why, the Religious .
Actually going to qualify that. Not all Religions, only Islam and Christianity really have those that want to force their beliefs on others.

Your statement is incorrect from the beginning, atheist believe in many things.Just because we don't believe in supernatural beings doesn't mean we have no beliefs whatsoever.
And the reason we "are so vocal" is because we have seen what religion has done in the past ( crusades, inquisitions, witch hunts & the holocaust just to name a few).

Hitlers 25 point plan, #24
"24. We demand freedom for all religious faiths in the state, insofar as they do not endanger its existence or offend the moral and ethical sense of the Germanic race.
The party as such represents the point of view of a positive Christianity without binding itself to any one particular confession. It fights against the Jewish materialist spirit within and without, and is convinced that a lasting recovery of our folk can only come about from within on the pinciple:
The History Place Main Page
The Nazis did call them selves Christian, and if you replace "Jewish" with "Muslim" and "German race with Christian American? You have what Trump supporters are advocating for right now.
Many other polices they share as well.
#11 "11. That all unearned income, and all income that does not arise from work, be abolished." Approved by Christians then, and advocated by the right wing ones.
Then we have Trumps economic policy, almost word for word of Hitlers preferred system, Autarky. Which was also approved by the Christians then, and advocated for by the Religious right now.
How about the Gays?
Hitlers policy on them :
Shortly after the purge in 1934, a special division of the Gestapo was instituted to compile lists of gay individuals. In 1936, Himmler created the Reichszentrale zur Bekämpfung der Homosexualität und Abtreibung (Reich Central Office for the Combating of Homosexuality and Abortion).
Nazi Germany thought of German gay men as against the plan of creating a "master race" and sought to force them into sexual and social conformity. Gay men who would not change or feign a change in their sexual orientation were sent to concentration camps under the "Extermination Through Work" campaign.[6]

===============================================================================
Maybe the Jewish religion caused the Holocaust. Their book is full of genocide against other people, so maybe what went around came around.

Which religion caused the holocaust? Believers in eugenics (Nazis) caused it, not believers in religion.
Let us examine this. Who was it who decided Jews should be segregated in ghettos?
Two Church teachings became the foundation stones for centuries of oppression of Jews by the Church:
bullet Supercessionism: (a.k.a. Replacement Theology): The belief that God had rejected the Jews, unilaterally cancelled his covenants with them, and now favored Christians as the new chosen people.
Translated responsibility: Holding all Jews, from the first century onwards, responsible for Jesus' execution circa 30 CE. This includes Jews who lived throughout the Roman Empire in the first century CE who never heard of Jesus, and Jews who were born as much as 19 centuries after Jesus' death.
http://www.religioustolerance.org/vat_hol11.htm
During the 4th century CE:
From 315 CE, (when the Roman Empire extended freedom of religion to Christians) to 395 (when Christianity had become the state religion) Christians were able to initiate programs of discrimination and oppression against Jews. Some early examples were:
bullet 306 CE: The church Synod of Elvira banned marriages, sexual intercourse and community contacts between Christians and Jews.
bullet 315: Constantine's Edict of Milan terminated many Jewish rights.
bullet 325: The Council of Nicea decided to separate the celebration of Easter from the Jewish Passover. They stated: "let us have nothing in common with this odious people..."
bullet 337: The marriage of a Jewish man to a Christian woman became punishable by death.
bullet 339: Conversion to Judaism became a criminal offense.
bullet 367 - 376: St. Hilary of Poitiers referred to Jews as a perverse people who God has cursed forever. St. Ephroem referred to synagogues as brothels.
bullet 379-395: Emperor Theodosius the Great permitted the destruction of synagogues if it served a religious purpose.
bullet 380: The Bishop of Milan initiated the destruction of a synagogue, which he referred to as "an act pleasing to God."

Just like the Muslim Theocracies promote?
Or, how about a return to Christian theocracies?
Those were the days! Until they started designating who was a "true" Christian or not, and burned the un designated ones at the stakes.
Think it can not happen here?
Best guarantee of religious freedom is, a secular non religious democracy. Where all have the rights to believe as they wish.

Perhaps "one nation under God" could mean that, whe government does not favor one religion over another, or subsidize any churches, that laws against things like anortion, contraception, pornography, divorce, co-habitation of unmarried couples, homosexual and other perverted sex, public blasphemy, and public cursing are passed and enforced.

The greatness of every mighty organization embodying an idea in this world lies in the religious fanaticism and intolerance with which, fanatically convinced of its own right, it intolerantly imposes its will against all others– Adolf Hitler

A Jew is for me an object of disgust. I feel like vomiting when I see one. Christ could not possibly have been a Jew. It is not necessary to prove that scientifically - it is a fact. I do not need to prove this with science or scholarship. It is so!

What went over my head, Older?
You weren't trying to imply that just because Hitler and Goebbels were raised in Christian families that Nazism was somehow connected to Christianity, were you? Not everybody takes their childhood beliefs into adulthood.
