Their pitching coach, trainers, etc... must be total crap.

It can't be a coincidence that Harvey is out for the season, degron sucking, other than last start syndergaard has sucked, mats is hurt, etc.... I mean seriously that many pitchers with great stuff can't magically be bad all at the same time and half of them hurt or tired if something isn't going on with their staff.

Mismanagement by Collins, to be quite honest. He underutilized pitchers when they are effective and over expose pitchers who are ineffective, leading to the utter disaster that you see this season. On top of that, the offense now is in a rut and malaise because they know they don't have the offense to match what the opposing team can offer so it's basically a precarious predicament they're in. But all of this stems from ownership. With bad ownership, you get craptacular results displayed before you....gamer

I have called out Collins handling of his staff especially Harvey!
Last season I think, MLB showed How Harveys stats went down after pitch 100.

A fastball is great to have but sooner then later you have to learn to pitch not just throw the ball,.for example Frank Tanaka....CC is throwing betta but he has a year left on his contract...more guys are having second TJ surgeries..the end

Pitching is all about location. Greg Maddux didn't even have a good fastball but he was a master when it came to location. On top of that most of the games that Mad Dog started were over in less than two hours.

At least Syndergaard has finally been good again.

As for the fastball debate... you need to be able to pitch, not only have the good fastball. However, I flat don't trust pitchers whose fastball is under like 93, because if they have an off night with their control they are going to get destroyed.

I have King Felix on a couple fantasy teams, and even though he has been awesome lately, he is making me nervous because his fastball keeps being around 91 and his changeup is freakin like 88. I sure wish he still had a top fastball.

If control is good, you can get away with it. Although, if you recall, Maddux suddenly started having a good fastball himself in his later years. I remember seeing it on up there at like 94 at times. So not all of his years were pitched with a mediocre fastball. (edit I think 94.... maybe it was like 92, but in earlier years it was even under 90).

HA! The Twins "staff" wishes it could get up to horse shit. 12 in a row now. I guess the club record is 14 and we've got our sites set on beating it. They say Molitor will bail at the end of the season.

At least Buxton is back to doing good. I dumbly dropped him a few days ago in my fantasy league and now he keeps homering. But, yeah, as far as pitching, the twins are in bad shape. Hitting-wise, dozier is on fire.

This girl I used to talk to was a big twins fan and I remember she was all happy meeting Cuddyer when he was on there.

I remember the days of seaver, koosman, seaver had the fastball, curve, and a good slider, koos, fastball slow curve ball, they were never hurt, compared to the present staff these kids need kid gloves to get thrugh an inning, back then gil let them pitch a complete game, Collins would take them out around the 7th inning. the only one whos pitching good bartolo even though he does have a curve ball, hes got a 2 seam fastball and a splitter fastball, right now hes the best on the staff, lgm, matt Williams springhill, fla

And apparently Mats is too and I was waiting to use him if he could get another start...

He could come back MAYBE for a few relief innings, at best, they say. The emts will probably make the playoffs, but wow how will they go far with all their staff hurt except syndergaard?

I have stressed for the longest, as a Mets fan, that they need to replace their trainers and strength coaches since their regimens are doing more harm than good. Every team sustains injuries, but nowhere near as many as the Mets are having. Considering that Harvey, Wheeler, deGrom, and Matz, Walker, and Wright are all out and Cabrera, Cespedes, Flores, Duda, Lagares, Blevins, and d'Arnaud have also been hurt, and the bullpen overused, the Mets are holding up well and in contention for a wild card spot. I've been impressed how Lugo and TJ Rivera have done since they were brought up as well. Let's Go Mets!

I benchd Verlander and Syndergaard today where I could use Kershaw later in the week (I only have 4 innings left before it cuts me off from future starts). Now both of them dominated and stupid dave Roberts is apparently using Kershaw Saturday instead of Friday, so he won't get many pitches. I am hoping they are wrong and he's still using him Friday. SF has bumgarner going Friday.

Didn't make the playoffs AGAIN did they? Or were they in the wild card game?

Yep, the Mets were in the wild card game which means they made the playoffs although the bus stopped there for them.
