My go to guns are a .357 revolver for self protection and deer hunting
And a 1917 rifle for long distance shots

Never have to worry about them jamming
And they are very simple to clean and for General upkeep

Went to the local Pheasant forever dinner last saturday night & won a Savage 17A .17HMR simi-automatic rifle. Now I need a scope for it as it has no fixed sights on it.
Basicly got my money back for attending And it did make me happy as well
Should be an excelent choice to carry on & with my new Kawaski mule around the farm.
Anyone know what scope I should buy for it?

Got a SIGHTRON SIH Series 3-9x40 on sale for $135.99 from 169.99
was the only brand this gun store was carrying
does have flip up dust covers.

When I was shoping for my pickup a year ago I was realy limited as I wanted one With an Allison Trasmision only And that is what I bought, more than happy now with my Chevy DuroMax Allison Pulls my 36' gooseneck flatbed with ease. I have in my old age gotten a bit crippled for standard shift and most atomatics would not stand up well to my trailer.
The Allison should.

I do but to far away I am sure that there are plenty of them in your are I have had mine for almost 20 years. And I have cut many kinds of wood but never any black walnut. I did cut a small white walnut slab into boards for a guy years ago.

If you bring them down I will sure cut them up for you

you can buy an older mill like mine for around $5,000 to 8,000 if you look around
I like the older mills .I would not trade my mill for a new deluxe mill.
I can fix or rebuild anything on my mill and it has no electronics. It has points a external coil and a condincer . the new ones have all kinds of crap and I mean crap. On them.
I have cut over a million board feet most has been 6x8 for log homes

The simpler
The better

I'm making lumber with a chainsaw
Can't cut straight to save my ass
So I've got an electric hand planer
But my way sure wastes a lot of wood

This reminds me of something that happened at work. We have three Honda 4wheelers the newest one had the fuel pump go out, my boss asked why didn't the older one go out. I said because they don't have fuel pumps, they are gravity fed and carbureted.

On one of the traping shows the guy that flys out to trap built one of his log cabins with a fold up jig to guide a chain saw for cutting boards or squareing off logs.
It did not look like easy work but it did work

They sell a jig for cutting straight with the chin saw. I have one that works great. You have to have a very good saw and keep a good sharp chain and a new bar that has a good oiler and clean the chain and the track that it rides in after every few cuts.(10 to 15) if you want it to cut true it is great for cutting out in the woods or swamp to square up a log before hauling it out .no need in hauling all that extra weight .

This is true. I sold my ruger mini14 for 100 dollars more than you could buy a brand new one for, the only problem was they were sold out of brand new ones. That thing was not very accurate and I don't miss it.

??? I have over 10 mini14 in 223/5.56 and 1 in 300acc blackout and all are very accurate. I had one years ago that had about half the rifling shot out from rapid fire and hot military cursive ammo it was all over the place. But that was not the guns fault.lol.
I sold some at the gun shows back in 2014 for $2,000 with 1 after market. 20 round mag and a 100 rounds of ammo. And had people begging for them. Had people begging for ammo for a $1.per round. Not they can get it for $ 0.20 a round and they are to dam stupid to buy it
