The Ark of the Covenant contained the stone tablets on which God wrote the ten commandments, the word of God. Mary, while Jesus was gestating, contained Jesus, the Word of God.
This is one of the many reasons we Catholics venerate Mary like we do. And devotion to Mary, far from taking away devotion to Jesus, enhances devotion to Jesus greatly.

Ludlow, you are either simply not able or you are unwilling to distinguish between the physical world and the spiritual. Mary was not and is not Deity, Ludlow, and you teaching that "devotion to Mary, far from taking away devotion to Jesus, enhances devotion to Jesus greatly" is false. Mary was blessed but she was not divine and her primary function was to give birth to Jesus. Mary is not your intermediary (negotiator) to enhance your devotion to Jesus, Ludlow. You don't need one. And you as well as the self-serving Catholic church are going to remain spiritually lost (dead) so long as you think/believe/teach you do.

Actually, you are partially right, KB. Mary is not divine and Mary is not the One Mediator between God and man---Jesus is. But at least some fevotion to Mary is required for salvation because, on the cross, Jesus appointed Mary to be the New Eve, the new mother of the human race, and the Fourth Commandment (Fifth Commandment, as counted by Protestants) commands us to honor our father and our mother.

Jesus taught the Fatherhood of God, Ludlow, that we are all brothers and sisters, mothers and Fathers in the family of God and that verse doesn't indicate/mean/make "Mary to be the New Eve, the new mother of the human race." Mary is not your mother and the pope is not your father, Ludlow. You are a sick and perverted man, Ludlow.

Of course your counterfeit church teaches that, but it is NOT what God's word says.
Also, just because they bound the Book, doesn't mean they have ANYTHING to do with God's context within.

God inspires the Catholic Church, yes, and God, speaking through the Catholic bishops present at Hippo in 393 a.d., decided which books would go into the Bible and which ones not.
God speaks through the Catholic Church. That is why outside the Church there is no salvation.

NO, He didn't speak through your church. He used their pride to bind His words, so that your church could get an up close look at TRUTH....HIS TRUTH that they do NOT know.

How is historical truth, or any truth, blasphemy?
I was going to answer, but realized I could not express it as good as this writer does.
Question: "What is the living Word? What does it mean that the Bible is the living Word of God?"
Answer: According to Hebrews 4:12, “the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” The “word of God” here is the written or spoken Word, not the Logos of John 1. The ESV says that the Bible is “living” and active.
The description of the Bible as “living” means that it has a vital power inherent to itself. The written Word of God accomplishes God’s purposes (Isaiah 55:11); the preaching of the Holy Scriptures brings about God’s desired effects. The Bible is unlike other books, whatever emotional or social effects they may produce, in that it brings about lasting, supernatural change within a person. “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17).
Jesus likened the Word of God to seed in His parable of the sower (Matthew 13:1–23). Seed, like the Bible, is not dead, but living, and it has the ability to bring forth more life abundantly. Seeds produce a crop (verse 23).
The Bible, as the living Word of God, is not inert or powerless, as seen in the actions attributed to the Word in the rest of Hebrews 4:12: the Bible “penetrates” deep within us and “judges” our hearts and motivations. It is “active,” not passive. The Bible is resisted or ignored to our own peril (Hebrews 2:1–3).
We see the living Word of God in action in the pages of the Bible. On the Day of Pentecost, Peter preached the Word of God, and his audience “were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, ‘Brothers, what shall we do?’” (Acts 2:37). Three thousand people were saved that day (verse 41). Later, as the apostles continued to preach, the number in the church grew to five thousand, because “many of those who had heard the word believed” (Acts 4:4, ESV). God’s Word, living and active, does not return to Him void.
The Bible is the living Word of God because it is the message given to us from the “living God” (Hebrews 3:12). The God who is alive works in this world through His living Word in conjunction with the Holy Spirit (see Ephesians 6:17). Jesus spoke of the life-giving property of His words: “The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life” (John 6:63). The word of our Lord is efficacious for our salvation and sanctification (Acts 13:48; John 17:17).
Other indications that the Word of God is alive include the facts that it sustains man (Luke 4:4), it brings faith (Romans 10:17), it has freedom to accomplish God’s will (2 Timothy 2:9), it can be maligned (Titus 2:5), it gives spiritual birth (1 Peter 1:23), and it abides within believers (1 John 2:14).
We see the living Word of God in action every time a sinner repents and turns to Christ for eternal life. The believer’s changed life bears testimony to the living, active power of the Bible. Commentator Matthew Henry wrote of the Bible that it “convinces powerfully, converts powerfully, and comforts powerfully. It makes a soul that has long been proud, to be humble; and a perverse spirit, to be meek and obedient. Sinful habits, that are become as it were natural to the soul, and rooted deeply in it, are separated and cut off by this sword. It will discover to men their thoughts and purposes, the vileness of many, the bad principles they are moved by, the sinful ends they act to” (Concise Commentary on the Whole Bible, Hebrews 4:11–16).
The living Word is active in the lives of those who receive it. According to the psalmist, the person who meditates on and delights in the Word will be “like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither” (Psalm 1:2–3). The Scriptures today are often downplayed in favor of manmade philosophies, personal experiences, or a “new” word from God. But the Bible cannot be ignored as if it were dead or obsolete. The Word of God is still powerful and very much alive. “We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).

1. How do we know that the 73-book Bible we use is the word og God?
A. Only because the Catholic Church says so.
Q. Had the Catholic Church never existed, what would the New Testament be like?
A. It would consist of several gospels. Some would include the gospels of Barnabus, Peter, Thomas, and other gospels floating around in the first century. No one wpuld know which were inspired by God and which ones not. Acts, and the rest of the New Testament? None of that would ever have been written, because all of that is about the early days of the Church.

Since when do you have to torture and burn people to death at the stake for over 500 years calling them witches and heretics in "self-defense" Ludlow? You are a sick man, Ludlow.
In any case, I didn't have those horrible inhumane acts of the Catholic church in mind when I said..
"You are a deceived fool, Ludlow. God/Jesus doesn't inspire murderous beliefs and actions."
What I was referring to was "inspired" scripture supposedly having God/Jesus ordering the killing of people for all these absurd reasons having nothing to do with either self-defense or violence against another.
Kill People Who Don't Listen to Priests (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)
Kill Witches (Exodus 22:17 NAB)
Kill Homosexuals (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)
Kill Fortunetellers (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)
Death for Hitting Dad (Exodus 21:15 NAB)
Death for Cursing Parents (Proverbs 20:20 NAB, Leviticus 20:9 NLT)
Death for Adultery (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)
Death for Fornication (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)
Death to Followers of Other Religions (Exodus 22:19 NAB)
Kill Nonbelievers (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)
Kill False Prophets (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)
Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God (Deuteronomy 13:13-18 NLT)
Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)
Kill Followers of Other Religions. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB, Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)
Death for Blasphemy (Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT)
Kill False Prophets (Deuteronomy 13:1-5 NLT, Deuteronomy 18:20-22 NLT)
Infidels and Gays Should Die (Romans 1:24-32 NLT)
Kill Anyone who Approaches the Tabernacle (Numbers 1:48-51 NLT)
Kill People for Working on the Sabbath (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)
Kill Sons of Sinners (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)
And you are indeed a deceived fool, Ludlow, to not only believe this about God but to teach it as truth to your brethren for the sake of church book doctrine in utter disloyalty to the teachings of Jesus and even the laws of civilized society.
As I see it you are either a deceived fool or you are satanic, Ludlow.

Executing heretics and witches, during the Middle Ages, were acts of self-defense because the medieval heretics and witches were the equivalent of today's terrorists---they burned Catholics' crops, burned down Catholic churches, often while people were there for Mass, poisoned Catholics' wells, ambushed priests, etc.

The RCC is the Church you see there in the New Testament. The New Testament Church has a pope (Peter), bishops (the apostles), priests (elders), deacons, nuns (consecrated widows and virgins), and the Mass (the Breaking of the Bread).

The Ark of the Covenant contained the stone tablets on which God wrote the ten commandments, the word of God. Mary, while Jesus was gestating, contained Jesus, the Word of God.
This is one of the many reasons we Catholics venerate Mary like we do. And devotion to Mary, far from taking away devotion to Jesus, enhances devotion to Jesus greatly.
just sad if this is what catholics are swallowing now.
the person whom Christ himself disrespected by calling her "woman" and you believe she is sacred???
insanity.

What do you mean by "sacred"? If you mean holy, yes, Mary was holy---by the grace of God. Do you mean divine? No she was not divine.

The following are excerpts from the web site listed below. Most of these statements violate some of the most basic teachings written within the New Testament and the teaching of the first two centuries of Church leaders. When reading the entire article God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) are almost excluded. One comes away with the concept that Mary is deified and worshiped. FWIW I copied and pasted each point so as to not change the wording:

3. ... Moreover, since almost a century has passed since Our predecessor of immortal memory, Pius IX, proclaimed and defined the dogma that the great Mother of God had been conceived without any stain of original sin, We instituted the current Marian Year[2] And now it is a great consolation to Us to see great multitudes here in Rome - and especially in the Liberian Basilica - giving testimony in a striking way to their faith and ardent love for their heavenly Mother. In all parts of the world We learn that devotion to the Virgin Mother of God is flourishing more and more, and that the principal shrines of Mary have been visited and are still being visited by many throngs of Catholic pilgrims gathered in prayer.
4. ... On this point it is particularly fitting to call to mind the radio message which We addressed to the people of Portugal, when the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary which is venerated at Fatima was being crowned with a golden diadem.[3] We Ourselves called this the heralding of the "sovereignty" of Mary.[4]
10. So it is that St. Ephrem, burning with poetic inspiration, represents her as speaking in this way: "Let Heaven sustain me in its embrace, because I am honored above it. For heaven was not Thy mother, but Thou hast made it Thy throne. How much more honorable and venerable than the throne of a king is her mother."[10] And in another place he thus prays to her: ". . . Majestic and Heavenly Maid, Lady, Queen, protect and keep me under your wing lest Satan the sower of destruction glory over me, lest my wicked foe be victorious against me."[11]
15. Moreover Epiphanius, the bishop of Constantinople, writing to the Sovereign Pontiff Hormisdas, says that we should pray that the unity of the Church may be preserved "by the grace of the holy and consubstantial Trinity and by the prayers of Mary, Our Lady, the holy and glorious Virgin and Mother of God."[17]
16. The Blessed Virgin, sitting at the right hand of God to pray for us is hailed by another writer of that same era in these words, "the Queen[17a] of mortal man, the most holy Mother of God."[18]
17. St. Andrew of Crete frequently attributes the dignity of a Queen to the Virgin Mary. For example, he writes, "Today He transports from her earthly dwelling, as Queen of the human race, His ever-Virgin Mother, from whose womb He, the living God, took on human form."[19]
22. The theologians of the Church, deriving their teaching from these and almost innumerable other testimonies handed down long ago, have called the most Blessed Virgin the Queen of all creatures, the Queen of the world, and the Ruler of all.
24. We wish also to recall that Our predecessor of immortal memory, Sixtus IV, touched favorably upon the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin, beginning the Apostolic Letter Cum praeexcelsa[30] with words in which Mary is called "Queen," "Who is always vigilant to intercede with the king whom she bore." Benedict XIV declared the same thing in his Apostolic Letter Gloriosae Dominae, in which Mary is called "Queen of heaven and earth," and it is stated that the sovereign King has in some way communicated to her his ruling power.[31]
34. ... So with complete justice St. John Damascene could write: "When she became "Mother of the Creator", she truly became Queen of every creature."[42] Likewise, it can be said that the heavenly voice of the Archangel Gabriel was the first to proclaim Mary's royal office.
35. ... But the Blessed Virgin Mary should be called Queen, not only because of her Divine Motherhood, but also because God has willed her to have an exceptional role in "the work of our eternal salvation"....
38. ... "it was she who, free of the stain of actual and original sin, and ever most closely bound to her Son, on Golgotha offered that Son to the Eternal Father together with the complete sacrifice of her maternal rights and maternal love, like a new Eve, for all the sons of Adam, stained as they were by his lamentable fall,"[51] then it may be legitimately concluded that as Christ, the new Adam, must be called a King not merely because He is Son of God, but also because He is our Redeemer, so, analogously, the Most Blessed Virgin is queen not only because she is Mother of God, but also because, as the new Eve, she was associated with the new Adam.
41. In order to understand better this sublime dignity of the Mother of God over all creatures let us recall that the holy Mother of God was, at the very moment of her Immaculate Conception, so filled with grace as to surpass the grace of all the Saints.

None of that says that Mary should be worshipped as God, only thatcshe should be venerated as the mother of God.
Not God's equal. Not God's predecessor. God's mother, the vessel chosen by God from which Jesus, the God-man would come.

It doesn't disturb me. The closer we get to Mary the closer we get to Jesus. "My only power is the power of my Son", Mary said in one of her apparitions.

The closer we get to Mary the closer we get to Jesus.
Why do you pray to Mary when Jesus instructed his followers to pray to God the Father? Are you striving to become more like God/Jesus or more like Mary? Mary was a mortal the same as you and the pope so why aren't you Catholics striving to be more like the pope? Oh, that's right you call pope Francis a "bad" pope and a "utter idiot."
Judaizers, Mary was a Jew. Why can't you accept her and venerate her.
Venerate is a synonym for worship so you and the RCC are just deviously playing on words, right, Ludlow?

"Venerate" certainly is not a synonym for "worship". In America we venerate Washington and Lincoln but we do not worship them.
Jesus did direct that we pray to the Father in secret but He did not say that no prayers could be directed to the Son, the Holy Spirit, or any of the saints or angels.

It does not matter what it is called. The Bible nowhere instructs followers of Jesus Christ to offer worship, veneration, adoration, or anything similar to anyone but God. Nowhere does the New Testament describe any followers of Jesus Christ worshipping, venerating, or adoring anyone other than God.

It doesn't have to be in the Bible. All it has to do is be taught by the Church. See 2 Thessalonians 2:15, :14 in some translations.

No one goes to the Father except by Jesus, but that doesn't mean we can't ask our friends---both our friends here on earth and our friends the saints and angels in Heaven---to pray to Jesus for us.
"Pray, one for another."

"Pray, one for another." --James 5:16 refers to the living not the dead. The dead have passed from this world. To pray to the dead to pray for you to God only shows your self imposed separation from God, Ludlow.
