News Media Furiously Reported Khizr Khan's 'Visa Crisis.' Then Suddenly, a Funny Thing Happened...

Khizr Khan, the Muslim Gold Star father who famously held up a “pocket Constitution” at the Democratic National Convention to criticize Donald Trump, again whipped up a media frenzy at the expense of the president this week.
Khan, who has remained an outspoken critic of Trump, was scheduled to travel to Toronto, Canada, on Tuesday to deliver a speech on “tolerance, understanding, unity and the rule of law.”

A day before the event, however, Khan told speech organizer Ramsay Talks that he would be unable to make the trip because his U.S. “travel privileges are being reviewed” — claims that, upon a little inspection, don't quite hold up.
In a Facebook message sharing the news of Khan's cancellation, Ramsay Talks included a comment directly from Khan, who said:
"This turn of events is not just of deep concern to me but to all my fellow Americans who cherish our freedom to travel abroad. I have not been given any reason as to why."
Khan was also scheduled to give an interview with a Canadian news program, but — again citing “travel privilege” issues — cancelled that appearance, as well.
The story was quickly shared by both Canadian and American news outlets, and was shared tens of thousands of times across social media, seemingly based off nothing more than Khan's claims:
Within hours, however, Khan's story began to unravel.
Khan, who was born in Pakistan, has been a U.S. citizen for 30 years. As The Washington Post notes, “U.S. citizens don't need visas to enter Canada, or even the electronic travel authorizations required of all other foreign visitors there.”
A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol spokesperson has since confirmed that any “travel privilege review” didn't originate with the agency, as it “does not contact travelers in advance of their travel out of the United States.”
A Canadian government official has also confirmed that their “office of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship is not aware of any restrictions involving Khan,” either.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, many journalists are now warning that Khan's story has thrown up quite a few red flags:
It should be noted that news of Khan's alleged “travel privilege review” that spread so quickly across social media broke the same day that President Trump announced his revised travel ban, though the ban has no effect on U.S. citizens like Khan.
For now, whatever prompted Khan to make these claims will remain a mystery, as — despite public urging — he has declined to offer any further comment on the matter.

White women are no longer allowed to wear hoop earrings, according to a group of Latina students at Pitzer College in Southern California.
The Daily Caller reports that the students covered an entire wall of a residence hall with graffiti that read “White Girl, Take OFF Your Hoops!!!”
According to The Clairmont Independent – Pitzer’s student newspaper – Alegria Martinez, a member of the Latinx Student Union, subsequently sent an email threat to the entire student body that read:
The art was created by myself and a few other WOC after being tired and annoyed with the reocurring [sic] theme of white women appropriating styles… that belong to the black and brown folks who created the culture.
The culture actually comes from a historical background oppression and exclusion. The black and brown bodies who typically wear hooped earrings (and other accessories like winged eyeliner, gold name plate necklaces, etc) are typically viewed as ghetto, and are not taken seriously by others in their daily lives.
Because of this, I see our winged eyeliner, lined lips, and big hoop earrings serving as symbols [and] as an everyday act of resistance especially here at the Claremont Colleges.
Meanwhile, we wonder, why should white girls be able to take part in this culture (wearing hoop earrings just being one cause of it) and be seen as cute/aesthetic/ethnic. White people have actually exploited the culture and made it into fashion.
Another student – Jacquelyn Aguilera – also claimed credit for the graffiti in a response to Alegria’s email.

If you didn’t create the culture as a coping mechanism for marginalization, take off those hoops, if your feminism isn’t intersectional take off those hoops, if you try to wear mi cultura when the creators can no longer afford it, take off those hoops, if you are incapable of using a search engine and expect other people to educate you, take off those hoops, if you can’t pronounce my name or spell it… take off those hoops/I use “those” instead of “your” because hoops were never “yours” to begin with.

Packed away in the thousands of documents released by WikiLeaks Tuesday was one that fascinated talk show host Rush Limbaugh because it links to the narrative of alleged connections between Russia and President Donald Trump’s campaign.
“Folks, we are in the midst of dangerous times like you cannot believe, and Donald J. Trump is the target,” he said.
Limbaugh noted that in the documents showing how the CIA hacks a vast array of electronic devices was evidence that the CIA often mimics Russian hackers.
“By the way, in the WikiLeaks dump today of thousands and thousands of documents from the CIA, do you know what is included? A little program called UMBRAGE. What this program is, apparently the CIA has the ability to mimic Russian hackers. In other words, the CIA has the ability to hack anybody they want and make it look like the Russians are doing it,” he said.
“Isn’t that interesting, given everything we’ve been told about the election? ‘The Russians hacked the election, that the Russians did this, the Russians did that.’ So far we don’t have any evidence the Russians did anything! But we have all kinds of supposition that the American deep state is deeply involved in whatever sabotage is being conducted on the Trump administration,” Limbaugh said.
“The evidence the Russians were involved? Nobody’s got it. Everybody runs around and talks about it as though it’s a fait accompli, but there isn’t any evidence,” Limbaugh noted.
Limbaugh said liberals and the media sought to manufacture a way to attack Trump.
” … (S)o I think because of everything that we’re learning here, the danger that Donald Trump has faced ever since he won the election is greater than we’ve ever known,” he said. “The establishment of this country — whatever you want to call it, the ruling class — is desperate. We’re living in times they never thought possible or didn’t consider likely, and that is somebody from outside their group being president, being vice president, being secretary of state, being secretary of commerce, being attorney general. This kind of thing, this is such an assault, and it’s got them in a state of panic.”
Limbaugh said that the claims of Russian connections to the Trump campaign were “a pretext to have a never-ending investigation of Trump.”
Limbaugh suggested that a Trump supporter is behind the dump of CIA secrets.
“Now, it’s gonna take weeks or longer to understand all the implications of the data in the WikiLeaks CIA dump. But one matter is abundantly clear to me. Someone who really supports Trump is trying to counter what’s happening to him,” he said, ” … somebody who supports Trump somewhere in the deep state is trying to impede and impugn the integrity of all of these investigations.”
Limbaugh noted that it is not just the CIA under attack from the leaks, but also the Obama administration.
” … (M)ost of what the WikiLeaks CIA release contains is what the CIA has been doing during the Obama years, specifically 2013 to 2016. And you throw Trump’s weekend tweet into this that Obama was hacking him,” Limbaugh said, “… you look at Trump’s weekend tweets, this CIA leak to WikiLeaks or the dump to WikiLeaks about the CIA is even more and more curious. The timing is exquisite.”
Limbaugh said that Trump’s claims about Obama now play into a new narrative of CIA spying.
“This is absolutely beautiful the way this is playing out. It’s a brilliant maneuver on Trump’s part, whether he intended it to be or not,” Limbaugh said.
“And the theory that I articulated … was, when everybody was saying, ‘What the hell is Trump doing? Oh, my God, Obama tapped?’ I said, ‘Look, what I think Trump’s actually doing is saying, “You guys want to lie about me in your Russia stuff, here’s a taste of your own medicine. I’m just gonna fire something right back at you.’” So he fires back that Obama is bugging him, that Obama bugged Trump Tower, and look what that has wrought. It’s fascinating,” Limbaugh added.

The Lefties are dead-set on pinning a bunch of illegal activities to the Trump administration, at almost any cost. If they destroy a few people’s reputations, lives, or families along the way, at least they can feel secure in the fact that at least they shielded the Clintons from such a fate.
The point is that the Party of the Jackass is not in the slightest bit interested in the truth.
They are more interested in delegitimizing this presidency and leading everyone down the path of agreement in the hopes of creating doubt, fear, or remorse for having supported Trump.
If the truth was of paramount importance, then simple facts like these would be investigated by the Democrats with equal zeal:

“Bill and Hillary Clinton received large sums of money directly and indirectly from Russian officials while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. Bill Clinton was paid a cool $500,000 (well above his normal fee) for a speech in Moscow in 2010.
Who footed the bill?
An investment firm in Moscow called Renaissance Capital, which boasts deep ties to Russian intelligence. The Clinton Foundation itself took money from Russian officials and Putin-connected oligarchs. They also took donations from:
Viktor Vekselberg, a Putin confidant who gave through his company, Renova Group
Andrey Vavilov, a former Russian government official who was Chairman of SuperOx, a research company that was part of the “nuclear Cluster” at the Russian government’s Skolkovo research facility
Elena Baturina, the wife of the former Mayor of Moscow, who apparently gave them money through JSC Inteco, an entity that she controls
Other items of interest may have hit the Liberals’ radar screens as well, like the fact that the Clinton Foundation scored $145M in donations from 9 shareholders in a Canadian uranium company that was sold to the Russian government in 2010.
Rosatom, the Russian State Nuclear Agency purchased 20% of the American uranium stockpile after clearing several federal government agencies, including Hillary Clinton’s State Department.
P.S. The only reason we know about this is because they were uncovered when government watchdogs happened to be combing through Canadian tax records.
Why didn’t we know about it prior to this?
Well, that’s because the Clinton Foundation failed to disclose that information, even though she was REQUIRED to disclose such information before becoming Secretary of State.
So, if we’re looking for precedent here in the Russian involvement in our own government, we need look no further than Bill and Hillary Clinton.
And if we want evidence of massive misappropriation of taxpayer funds, we only have to look to Hillary and Barack Obama. …way to go, Democrats.

an interesting dilemma in the popular quest for diversity... On the one hand, Americans of all ages are taught to embrace cultures of all types and varieties under the guise of multiculturalism. Yet, when Americans do embrace the “melting pot” culture, they are simultaneously warned not to beg, borrow, or steal any of the ideas, fashions, or trends ostensibly originating from a culture other than their own.
It was once thought that imitation was the sweetest form of flattery. Now, however, it seems to be considered a form of theft or abuse.
Have we arrived at this point simply because we now see victimhood as a virtue, and take every opportunity to assert our claim to it?

Public School Teachers Being Monitored & Fired If They Show Any Sign Of Supporting President Trump

A Georgia school superintendent is firing any teacher who states they support President Trump or any of his policies.
DeKalb County Schools Superintendent Stephen Green has warned teachers and already fired two educators for violating his personal political policy.
Green is now taking it a step further, warning teachers not to inject their personal beliefs into the classroom if they line up with those of the president of the United States.
Green told a local newspaper, the Champion, that his Jan. 30 statement sought to grant students assurance that DeKalb County Schools officials remain committed to being “culturally responsive, diverse and supportive” of DeKalb County’s immigrant population.
“Our schools will be safe places for learning and teaching,” he wrote in the statement. “We will not tolerate any form of bullying or discrimination on or off district property that interferes with learning or the rights of others.”
The fact this is allowed to happen in the United States is deeply alarming. Of course, the firings and political intimidation are under the guise of "tolerance." A word that has been hijacked by the dangerous progressive left.

14 Freeloaders ARRESTED for $16 MILLION in Welfare Fraud, Then Everyone Saw Their Names And Were SHOCKED!

Welfare fraud is a huge problem, despite what liberals say.
Food Stamps benefits costed $74.1 billion in 2014 and supplied around 46.5 million Americans with benefits, which averages around $125.35 for each person per month in food assistance. Even a fraud rate of less than 5% amounts to billions in wasted funds. The most popular form of food stand fraud isn’t falsely claiming benefits, but recipients trading in their cards for a fraction of their value for cash.
Luckily, the government has actually made some wise steps in counteracting that kind of fraud. Back in April, the USDA passed a rule that allows states the option to require SNAP recipients to make contact with the state when there have been an excessive number of requests for EBT card replacements in a year. Requesting excessive replacement cards can indicate that a client is exchanging SNAP cards for cash or other prohibited items.
On the other hand, it does not take many people to do millions worth of damage when the system is abused in a major manner. In a recent story out of Baltimore, fourteen people were arrested in raids that related to a total of $16 million in food stamp fraud.

More than a dozen retail store operators in and around Baltimore have been charged in connection to a huge food stamp and wire fraud scheme.
The indictments allege the retailers received more than $16 million in federal payments for transactions in which they did not provide any food, a fraud scheme commonly known as “food stamp trafficking.”
As a result these transactions, they allegedly obtained more than $16,482,270 in EBT deposits for transactions in which food sales never occurred or were substantially inflated and split the proceeds with food stamp recipients.

Wine Bar Sues Donald Trump for Unfair Competition Over D.C. Hotel

A Washington restaurant filed an unfair competition lawsuit Thursday against President Donald Trump and the company that runs his D.C. hotel, claiming he's siphoning away customers who hope to "curry favor" with his administration.
Cork Wine Bar, a well-reviewed eatery about 1.5 miles from the $200 million Trump International Hotel, is suing Trump as a private businessman and not as president, but suggests that he could remedy the problem by resigning.
Alan Garten, a lawyer for the Trump Organization, called it "a wild publicity stunt completely lacking in legal merit."

Cork Wine Bar's owners — progressive activist Khalid Pitts and his wife, Diane Gross — argue that because Trump is president, his hotel and its bars and restaurants have become the top destination for lobbyists, foreign dignitaries and others hoping to influence the White House.
Cork and other bars and restaurants in Washington are now "second choice for anyone who wants to gain favor with the government," the couple's attorney, Scott Rome, said at a press conference.
The couple, whose legal team includes government watchdog lawyers, said they embrace competition but believe Trump is using his government stature to get a leg up on small businesses.

The suit points to a January press conference at which White House press secretary Sean Spicer plugged the "stunning" hotel and quotes an anonymous lobbyist saying that senior administration staff who hang out in the lobby bar see who is spending money there.
"Someone is paying attention to the person who orders the $1,000 bottle of wine," the lobbyist was quoted as saying.
Pitts and Gross claim their loss of business spiked right after Trump was elected president. However, they declined to put a dollar-figure on it and could not point to specific bookings that were canceled.
"President Donald Trump's ownership constitutes unfair competition and we are asking the courts to stop it," Gross said.
She and her husband are not seeking monetary damages. Instead, their attorney said, they want Trump to divest from the hotel, close it — or resign.
"We are not seeking money," Pitts said. "We simply want to level the playing field so all D.C. restaurants can complete fairly."
The lawyers stressed that the lawsuit is a business case and not a constitutional challenge invoking what's known as the Emoluments Clause, which says that no office holder can accept a benefit from a foreign state.
A separate federal lawsuit argues that Trump violated the Emoluments Clause by failing to dissolve his business interests with foreign governments.
Trump has resigned from the Trump Organization, which is now being run by his sons. He still holds a financial interest, though he has pledged not to take profits from his businesses' dealings with foreign clients.

First Lady Melania Trump has had a good month.
Her favorability rating is up 16 percentage points since her husband was sworn in as President, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Wednesday. That means 52 percent of Americans surveyed have a favorable view of her, up from 36 percent before Inauguration Day.
That view is starkly split along party lines. 86 percent of Republicans view Melania favorably, compared to just 22 percent of Democrats
Part of the boost may come from more Americans learning who Melania is. In February 2016, almost a quarter of survey respondents didn't know who she was. Now that number is just three percent.

President Trump Nominated For the Nobel Peace Prize

President Trump was officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize on Wednesday.
The story first started circulating in February, when rumors suggested that Trump would receive a nomination. It officially came true this week.
Trump was nominated due to “his vigorous peace through strength ideology, used as a threat weapon of deterrence against radical Islam, ISIS, nuclear Iran and Communist China.”
The AFP confirmed in their own report that “an unidentified American” wanted “the U.S. leader recognized for ‘his peace through strength ideology.'”
The liberal media has remained quiet as of yet, but you can expect them to bash the decision given their history of anti-Trump rhetoric.
Not surprisingly, 54 percent of Americans believe the media “has assumed the role of the opposition party, constantly opposing the president and his policies at every turn.”
Instead of focusing on all of the good that Trump has done, they continue to attack him every day for mundane things like who he picks for his cabinet.
Maybe they will learn to accept the president once he wins the prestigious title.

Podesta Took $170K Payment From Russian Bank To Make Private Deal With Obama

MATTHEW BERNSTIEN – CDP | In the days leading up to the election, WikiLeaks spent nearly every day dropping new emails that they had taken from the account of John Podesta, which was Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager. Ultimately his efforts to get Hillary elected failed as Donald Trump was the winner of the presidential election.
John wasn’t the only Podesta that has been involved with the Democrats however.
His brother, Tony Podesta, has been known as a Democratic super-lobbyist. He has done what he could to raise money for Democratic causes, and has been very successful at it.
In fact, he has been so successful that he has been contacted, AND PAID, by foreign entities to try and achieve what they are asking of him. It has been learned that Tony Podesta was paid $170,000 during a six-month period to represent Sberbank. That would be Russia’s largest bank, proving that the Podesta’s have more ties to Russian than Donald Trump.
What Tony Podesta was trying to do was get the Obama administration to remove economic sanctions against Russia. Yes, he was doing what he could to get sanctions removed on Russia because a foreign bank paid him to do so. If that isn’t a Russian conspiracy, then nothing is.

Podesta is the founder and chairman of the Podesta Group, and he is listed as a key lobbyist on behalf of Sberbank, at least according to Senate lobbying disclosure forms. His firm received a large chunk of change from fees in 2016, to the tune of $24 million. Much of that money came from foreign governments, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.
What had happened was former President Barack Obama had imposed sanctions on the bank after Russia has seized the Crimean region of Ukraine back in 2014. As this was hurting the bank, they hired Podesta’s firm to try and get the sanctions removed.
As it stands, his campaign targeted both Congress and the President. Podesta and other lobbyists had actually arranged at least two meetings between Sberbank officers and officials within the Department of State. That was according to Elena Teplitskaya, Sberbank’s board chairman, whom spoke to House aides back in August.
What this also does is make the Democrats look like hypocrites. Democrats try and claim that the Trump administration is too soft on Russia, while the Obama administration was harder on Moscow. However, nobody from the Trump administration had ever attempted to get sanctions lifted.
Podesta’s efforts weren’t alone. During the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign, he and several other lobbyists led an under-the-radar campaign to remove sanctions against Sberbank and VTB Capital, also known as the two largest banks in Russia.
Together, those banks spent over $700,000 in 2016 on Washington lobbyists attempting to remove the U.S. sanctions, according to even more Senate lobbying disclosure forms and other documents that were filed with the Department of Justice.
The Podesta Group themselves charged Sberbank $20,000 per month, plus expenses, on a contract that was from March to September of 2016. What makes this more interesting is the connection that Podesta has with some of the former presidents of the country.
Tony is one of the higher profile lobbyists, and he enjoys both personal and business connections to former President Obama AND Bill Clinton. John Podesta served as the chief of staff in Clinton’s White House and was a special counselor in the Obama White House.
The reason that the two banks want the economic sanctions lifted was because they are both facing cash shortages that can only be described as severe. The reason for that is because of the plunging oil prices on top of the U.S. sanctions. Should the sanctions be lifted though, both banks could legally receive funds from American financial institutions.
This is not sitting well with some congressional aides. One of them, who requested anonymity and met Teplitskaya told The Daily Caller, “The Democrats are sitting there trying to convince us that the Russians are trying to throw the election to Trump.”
President Trump has denied any connections between Russia and the Trump campaign or administration.

“And then they’re with us here in the House and meeting directly with the administration behind closed doors on the issue of the sanctions. The hypocrisy could not be any richer,” said the aide.
Someone that joined the Podesta lobbying group was David Adams. He descrbies himself on the Podesta Group website as a “trust adviser” to Hillary Clinton, once serving as her assistant secretary of state for congressional affairs. Podesta and his group have represented a lot of other foreign government agencies, which means that they are not all for America as they may seem.
Not to mention that the Sberbank-Podesta partnership isn’t new. Sberbank was the lead financial institution in the Russian deal to purchase Uranium One. That was owned by one of Bill Clinton’s closest friends.
John Podesta has also been involved in some events that are highly questionable. In fact there was a communication line that showed Podesta was responsible for hiring a hit man that would be used to kill Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
Podesta also had his email account hacked and that was the reason that the WikiLeaks releases were filled with a lot of information that the Democrats didn’t want people to see. In fact, Podesta was put in such a panic mode that he revealed a computer secret to save the election. It didn’t matter in the long run though.

Audit on HUD reveals billions in bookkeeping errors

Despite officials from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) correcting $520 billion in bookkeeping errors, the department’s financial records have been so poorly kept that HUD’s inspector general (IG) cannot complete an audit of them.
According to a new report from the IG, HUD officials cleaned up $3.4 billion in errors from its 2015 financial records and $516.4 billion in errors from 2016, after the IG was unable to issue an opinion on either year’s financial statements in December.
The IG pointed out 11 material weaknesses, seven significant deficiencies, and five instances of failure to comply with laws and regulations, problems reported for three straight years.
The IG remained unable to issue an opinion on HUD’s financial statements even after giving the department an extension and receiving a resubmission from HUD three months later with the reported issues unresolved.
The continued problems, the IG said, “were due to an inability to establish a compliant control environment, implement adequate financial accounting systems, retain key financial staff, and identify appropriate accounting principles and policies."

The problematic issues identified by the IG include HUD lawyers’ refusals to sign a management letter listing all HUD litigation, the department’s improper accounting practices, failure to properly measure assets and liabilities, discrepancies between general ledger and sub-ledger accounts, and $4.2 billion in loan assets from Ginnie Mae’s financial statements that lack sufficient support for an audit.
In December 2016, HUD spokesman Brian Sullivan told The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group, “HUD does apply generally accepted accounting standards,” although the IG asserted that the department does not.
In addition to recommending that HUD address existing problems, the IG also instructed the department to reassess its financial statement review process to identify errors and ensure that its financial notes comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Obama appointee Julian Castro served as HUD secretary from 2014 through the end of the Obama administration.
Castro was preceded by Shaun Donovan, who was nominated to be the next director of the Office of Management and Budget. On Mar. 2, former presidential hopeful Dr. Ben Carson was sworn in as the new HUD secretary.

The big 3 broadcast networks – ABC, NBC, and CBS have been consistently “Anti-Trump” from the start.
How has that worked out for them? Very poorly, and they are bleeding viewers left and right who are now watching Fox News and independent conservative media instead.
It looks like the surge in cable news ratings has come at the expense of the big three broadcast networks, as the latest ratings report shows that ABC, CBS and NBC have lost more than one million viewers on their morning shows and their evening news broadcasts in the last year.
In February 2016, the morning shows on the big three networks averaged 13.903 million viewers. That dropped to 12.766 million for the same period this year. That’s a loss of 1.137 viewers, or eight percent.
The combined evening newscasts averaged 25.843 million viewers in 2016, which dropped to 24.695 million this year for a loss of 1.148 million viewers, or 4.4 percent.

This Woman Is Engaged To A Robot And You’re A Bigot If You Think That’s Weird

A French woman by the name of Lilly reportedly fell in love with a robot after realizing she wasn’t attracted to humans.
According to the New York Post, Lilly and her robot lover appeared in an episode of CNN’s “Mostly Human With Laurie Segall” – a show that explores how modern technology affects relationships.
Lilly has reportedly dubbed her robotfriend “InMoovator.”
There is no word yet on what gender “InMoovator” identifies as. According to News.com.au, however, Lilly has a term to describe her sexual orientation – “robosexual.”
“I’m really and only attracted by the robots,” she says. “My only two relationships with men have confirmed my love orientation, because I dislike really physical contact with human flesh.”
Lilly’s family and friends have reportedly accepted her relationship with a non-human entity, and the pair plan to get married as soon as robot-human marriage becomes legal in France.
Jezebel.com reports that Lilly once had a Twitter account, the bio of which you can see below.
“She was probably getting more questions than she’d like,” reads Jezebel writer Aimée Lutkin’s explanation for Lilly’s desire to leave Twitter.
“Which sucks, because someone who can build their own lover is literally hurting no one.”

The Irish Slave Trade – The Slaves That Time Forgot

We’ve all been taught the horror’s of the African slave trade. It’s in all the school books and in plenty of Hollywood movies. But for some reason the largest group of slaves in the British Colonies in the 17th Century doesn’t get mentioned at all:
The Irish
Most people have heard of the Great Famine, which reduced the population of Ireland by around 25%. That pales in comparison to the disaster that England inflicted upon Ireland between1641 and 1652, when the population of Ireland fell from 1,466,000 to 616,000.
Then things got worse.
What to do with the Irish?
From the Tudor reconquest of Ireland until Irish Independence in 1921, the English puzzled over the problem of what to do with all those Irish people. They were the wrong religion. They spoke the wrong language. But the big problem was that there were just too many of them.
The English had been practicing a slow genocide against the Irish since Queen Elizabeth, but the Irish bred too fast and were tough to kill. On the other side of the Atlantic, there was a chronic labor shortage (because the local natives tended to die out too quickly in slavery conditions).
Putting two and two together, King James I started sending Irish slaves to the new world. The first recorded sale of Irish slaves was to a settlement in the Amazon in 1612, seven years before the first African slaves arrived in Jamestown.
The Proclamation of 1625 by James II made it official policy that all Irish political prisoners be transported to the West Indies and sold to English planters. Soon Irish slaves were the majority of slaves in the English colonies.
In 1629 a large group of Irish men and women were sent to Guiana, and by 1632, Irish were the main slaves sold to Antigua and Montserrat in the West Indies. By 1637 a census showed that 69% of the total population of Montserrat were Irish slaves, which records show was a cause of concern to the English planters. But there were not enough political prisoners to supply the demand, so every petty infraction carried a sentence of transporting, and slaver gangs combed the country sides to kidnap enough people to fill out their quotas.
The slavers were so full of zest that they sometimes grabbed non-Irishmen. On March 25, 1659, a petition was received in London claiming that 72 Englishmen were wrongly sold as slaves in Barbados, along with 200 Frenchmen and 7-8,000 Scots.

So many Irish slaves were sent to Barbados, between 12,000 and 60,000, that the term “barbadosed” began to be used. By the 1630’s, Ireland was the primary source of the English slave trade. And then disaster struck.
Cromwell
After Oliver Cromwell defeated the royalists in the English Civil War, he turned to Ireland, who had allied themselves with the defeated royalists. What happened next could be considered genocide.
The famine (caused by the English intentionally destroying foodstocks) and plague that followed Cromwell’s massacres reduced the population of Ireland to around 40%.
And then Cromwell got really nasty.
Anyone implicated in the rebellion had their land confiscated and was sold into slavery in the West Indies. Even catholic landowners who hadn’t taken part of the rebellion had their land confiscated. Catholicism was outlawed and catholic priests were executed when found. To top it off, he ordered the ethnic cleansing of Ireland east of Shannon in 1652. Soldiers were encouraged to kill any Irish who refused to relocate.
Instead of trying to describe the horror, consider the words from the English State Papers in 1742.
“In clearing the ground for the adventurers and soldiers (the English capitalists of that day)… To be transported to Barbados and the English plantations in America. It was a measure beneficial to Ireland, which was thus relieved of a population that might trouble the planters; it was a benefit to the people removed, which might thus be made English and Christians … a great benefit to the West India sugar planters, who desired men and boys for their bondsmen, and the women and Irish girls… To solace them.”
I can’t help but notice that the exact same language and logic used to justify enslavement of the blacks was used to justify enslavement of the Irish. It is something for those who think slavery was simply a matter of skin color to consider. As for the Irish slaves, Cromwell specifically targeted Irish children.

“During the 1650s, over 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In this decade, 52,000 Irish (mostly women and children) were sold to Barbados and Virginia. Another 30,000 Irish men and women were also transported and sold to the highest bidder. In 1656, [Oliver] Cromwell ordered that 2000 Irish children be taken to Jamaica and sold as slaves to English settlers.”
For some reason, history likes to call these Irish slaves as ‘indentured servants’. As if they were somehow considered better than African slaves. This can be considered an attempt at whitewashing the history of the Irish slave trade.
There does exist indentured servitude where two parties sign a contract for a limited amount of time. This is not what happened to the Irish from 1625 onward. They were sold as slaves, pure and simple. In reality, they were considered by some to be even lower than the blacks.
“…the African slave trade was just beginning during this same period,” writes Martin. “It is well recorded that African slaves, not tainted with the stain of the hated Catholic theology and more expensive to purchase, were often treated far better than their Irish counterparts.”
African slaves were still relatively new, and were expensive to transport such a long distance (50 sterling in the late 1600’s). Irish slaves on the other hand, were relatively cheap in comparison (5 sterling).
If a planter whipped or branded or beat an Irish slave to death, it was never a crime. A death was a monetary setback, but far cheaper than killing a more expensive African. The English masters quickly began breeding the Irish women for both their own personal pleasure and for greater profit. Children of slaves were themselves slaves, which increased the size of the master’s free workforce.
Because Irish slaves were so much cheaper, the loss of investment from torturing and killing them was not considered an effective deterrent. In an ironic twist, this caused some to recommend importing African slaves instead for humanitarian reasons.
Colonel William Brayne wrote to English authorities in 1656 urging the importation of Negro slaves on the grounds that, “as the planters would have to pay much more for them, they would have an interest in preserving their lives, which was wanting in the case of (Irish)….” many of whom, he charged, were killed by overwork and cruel treatment. African Negroes cost generally about 20 to 50 pounds Sterling, compared to 900 pounds of cotton (about 5 pounds Sterling) for an Irish. They were also more durable in the hot climate, and caused fewer problems. The biggest bonus with the Africans though, was they were NOT Catholic, and any heathen pagan was better than an Irish Papist.
It’s impossible to estimate the exact number of Irish sold into slavery during this period. More Irish slaves were sold in the American colonies between 1651 and 1660 than the entire free population of those colonies. In fact, more Irish were sold as slaves in the America’s during the 17th Century than Africans.
White and black slaves
The typical death rate on the slave ships was around 37%. The Irish did often have one advantage over African slaves – most of the time their time in slavery was limited. They were often sold into slavery from 7 to 20 years, while the only way Africans could get out of slavery was to buy their freedom.
Interesting historical note: the last person killed at the Salem Witch Trials was Ann Glover. She and her husband had been shipped to Barbados as a slave in the 1650’s. Her husband was killed there for refusing to renounce catholicism.
In the 1680’s she was working as a housekeeper in Salem. After some of the children she was caring for got sick she was accused of being a witch. At the trial they demanded she say the Lord’s Prayer. She did so, but in Gaelic, because she didn’t know English. She was then hung.

That is what burns me..the slave excuse. Negros throw it up as reason to feel sorry for them. There have been slaves since mankind started. All races, all nationalities. And it has often been their own race or tribe or nation that practiced it. There is still slavery going on across the globe. In the US, Africa, India, China and Europe.
One Negress I read a book from said that she thinks Negros in the US should be thankful their ancestors got to the US by whatever means, because otherwise they would be living in Africa with no jobs, no running water, no AC or heat, no grocery stores or any of the other perks. She worked her way up and sees no reason why anyone of any race or nationality cant do the same in the US.
We are supposed to give more chances to Negros just because some ancestor was enslaved. It makes as much sense as giving welfare to the Indians. There is no way we can pay those people who died on the Trail of tears, or the massacres of villages because the whites of that era wanted the land. Injustices are of the past, the present and the future. You make your own destiny. I see Negro judges, politicians..yes even POTUS, movie stars, corporate CEOs, company owners. They got there by work..not whining poor me..great great grandpappy was a slave.
To turn descendants into welfares "slaves" will not honor nor makeup for injustices done in the past centuries. There are people of all races and nationalities who face a hard row to hoe in this country. And there are those who succeed against all odds. FAKE HATE CRIME: Woman Admits She Fabricated Story Of Attack By Trump Supporters

A 21 year-old Michigan woman pleaded guilty to manufacturing a hate crime on Tuesday. Halley Bass, who claimed she was attacked for wearing a liberal 'solidarity pin' in November, admitted that she lied about the whole thing according to a local paper.
"I was suffering from depression at the time," Bass told the court. "I made a superficial scratch on my face. It was visible and I was embarrassed about what I'd done. So, I made up a story and told a friend that a stranger had done it while I was walking. I was encouraged to report it to the police. I made the mistake of doing that."
She claimed the assault was part of an alleged ‘spike’ in violence in the wake of President Trump’s election surprise and the UK’s Brexit vote, and that she was attacked for wearing a ‘solidarity pin’.
“The person must have seen the pin and picked on me," Bass says in the police report. "That's my best guess. No other reason why he would be targeting me."
She described the attacker as a white man in his mid 40s.
The actual events were quite different. Bass used a safety pin and slashed her own face after leaving a Women’s Literature lecture at the University of Michigan.

Jake Tapper Says His Son “Jokingly” Calls Him Fake News

CNN host Jake Tapper says his 7-year-old son calls him “fake news” in anger.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tapper said, “[he] now does an impression where whenever I’m bothering him he says, fake news.”
Tapper insists that his son is simply joking and imitating President Donald Trump – who often calls CNN fake news.
These folks appear to think he’s dead serious, though.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Tapper addressed accusations of being a fake news reporter with a vendetta against President Trump.
“To be completely candid, I did fact checks about Barack Obama too,” he said, adding “not at the same rate.”
“I know people hated me then back now but like the fact checks I’m doing about Donald Trump,” he said. “I feel like I’m being consistent.”

Musician, writer, and actor Chaz Bono is demanding answers after his “housekeeper’s helper” was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Chaz directed his complaint towards California Governor Jerry Brown via Twitter this morning.
He attached a copy of the California Values Act – a document outlining the state’s desire to “protect the safety and well-being of all Californians by ensuring that state and local resources are not used to fuel mass deportations, separate families or divide Californians.”
If Chaz Bono was expecting sympathy from Twitter users, he didn’t get it.
