Surge protector
All were on surge protectors...problem was it came down the Xfinity cable line (the lightning strike was on the property) ...hence took out the HDMI box (and the stuff that was connected to it) and modem/router.
Not a lot you can do about a direct strike...F**k you god.

I immediately went to best buy and got a new modem..I had a shitty old router but will be going getting a better one at lunch time from microcenter.
HDMI box has been ordered from Ebay, DVD player..no plans to replace..kodi/android box I had two so using the other one for now.

My kodi box quit workin. How do you update those things? I've heard they are cracking down on them. Got one of those loaded boxes off eBay (android) it worked pretty good for a while...
First delete kodi and then reinstall it from the play store or directly from the kodi website. (currently version 17.3)

Burt found it amusing that the quote from dictionary.com had the word "athiest" spelled wrong when it should be "atheist". Burt was satisfied in the fact his English skills were better than dictionary.com and he could only assume they had an interloper doing the proof reading.
