driver406 Saint Paul, MN 65, joined Oct. 2009	My father was for $1000 and the police caught the guy and the courts let him go despite his very long record. It was the smooth talking lawyer that did it, but he is wanted in most of the counties around here. Still he scams a 94 year old man out of $1000 and the courts find him innocent and he walks away despite all the evidence against him. My father did NOT get justice nor his money back.

sdakotasky Harrisburg, PA 68, joined Jun. 2014	Two years ago on Easter Sunday someone shot a BB or Pellet into my picture window. I hired a glass company to replace the window and the guy took off with my money but he was really stupid. The company had a solid reputation for over 40 years. They closed their business but one of the brothers decided to run it himself and scam people. He ripped off a lot of people. I tired to find him for 18 months with no luck. Then one day I had an appointment to get my car inspected and who is working at the car dealership but Mr Scammer. He was so stupid. He came up to me and asked me "Don't I know you from somewhere?" I let him have it right there at his place of employment. He took me aside and told me he would return my money. I knew the statute of limitations was going to run out so after I gave him two months, I pressed charges against him. He paid me back every penny even though it was in small payments over a period of months. But there are dozens of people who are still sitting out there looking for him. Why isn't he in jail?

The reason I started this thread was to open your eyes to the fact there r people out there that will scam you. My friend is getting scammed as i speak with an online suitor. weve told her he is phony and there is so much evidence he is, but she does not to believe it. He has already gotten $ out of her...ugh!!

But long time ago in Tulsa, Oklahoma was going to school there and I took a part time job selling dealerships for new type of satellite dish for minimum wage or commission, whichever was higher. I had to cold call mostly video store ownerss and try and get $2,500 from them. Well after about a month I wasn't too successful so I resigned and said I will take my minimum wage for all the hours I worked. They said no we don't owe you anything, it was on commission only, even though I still had their newspaper add saying it would pay min wage. I went to the labor dept and filed a claim. Then they got mad at me because they were really selling something non existent and illegal but the labor dept said that they don't really own me anything because I never signed a contract saying they would pay min wage. (when does anybody sign a contract for min wage job?) The labor dept managed to get them to give me the equivalent of $2.00/hr for my time. And they never did do anything to the boiler room company for fraud.

orz Portage, WI 67, joined Jul. 2010	I dont fall for phone and on line crap. But, have been by a past tenant. She came in contact with me via her brother and sister in law. Moving here from MN. And she had good reasons for getting evicted. Her brother who worked locally and wife said they would back her. So she was sweet and perfect to start. Then the job losses. Never her fault. Then she HAPPENED to meet an old beau. So he started to hang here and she was always behind in rent. Losing job due to not GOING to work! I yelled and threatened and finally had her evicted. Never got the 2k she owed. Revenge tho..she died of a heart attack at 33.

driver406 Saint Paul, MN 65, joined Oct. 2009	I got the IRS scam call this morning! They said they're suing me for $8219 because of a small miscalculation between 2010-5. My tax advisor advised me not to pay a thing as it is a scam. I haven't heard back from them yet. They certainly sounded convincing, but they tried to get me with this same scam last year. In both cases the voices sounded black and foreign. You'd think the IRS would hire Americans to steal their money for them.

I learned the hard, five-dollars and fifty cents lesson that any DVD that says it's "region free" is bogus. But I learned when I was still a kid (teen years) that anyone who offers you the moon for a song, AND anyone who wants you to go outside your established boundaries in order to get something you want, are lying swine who will just take what they can from you, and then point and laugh at your protestations. And the rest of the world will join THEM in laughing. I guess I was lucky to have been scammed back when the lessons only cost a few bucks and a jug of shame.

One interview I went on I had to cold call residence houses & ask if they wanted 30 days to try out golf clubs. If they didn't like them they could return them. The catch was it was expense to return them so those people just paid the monthly fee to buy them after the 30 days were up. The guy interviewing me basically told me it was a scam. I did have my I D stolen years ago , that was a big MESS to clean up.

Called him up and of course he knows nothing about it. He was getting mail delivered to his house in my name, but just threw it away. But he didn't do it. No problem. I'll just go file a police report. Identity thief and fraud. Statue of Limitations may apply.
