I think that's where a lot of people think I am so dead serious and grounded to reality. Or down to earth, as you will.

But, when they say "extremely" open minded, there is no doubt that they are turning tricks and most likely everything they do is illegal and not a thing you could say or do that would shock them, let alone 'embarrass' them or cause the least bit of shame for them....sadly enough.

In other words, they know that their potential mate, sooner or later, is going to fart in their presence, and that they wont dump you for just that. What "open minded" is SUPPOSED TO MEAN, is that they don't have such a narrow and specific set of rigid standards, that you have to fit every one of their list of preferences, in order to have a good time together. Yeah, he WANTS you to cheer for HIS NFL team, but if you don't he wont dump you for the girl at the bar with the right fan jersey. But as has been said, most people just add those statements in by rote.

Personals are full of them and most personal ads are remarkably unimaginative. Its like when someone says they are looking for someone that can make them laugh. Well, duh! When did anyone ever say I am looking for someone humorless? They just said a whole lot of nothing, because the reader hasn't learned anything. There's always my favorite, an over-weight person with pictures (all of them inside), then puts "outdoors" as one of their interests. Down to Earth, laidback, attractive, funny, outdoors, music, movies, etc. The reader still doesn't know anything about you (and probably doesn't even realize it)

They have no illusions of being more than a basic person with a basic job and life. Open minded might mean if you have the cash, they will consider it. Or are covering up the fact that they really have prejudices and are in denial. Catch all words dont work. Hard working. So, they are slaves driven by a boss? Or they enjoy DYI? Very few people dont fit any words at no time. And most at some time.

Open-minded is supposed to mean that someone is a reasonable person that will listen to your points of view, but in reality that's applicable only to a point without serious disagreement.

Down to earth means to be practical about things. A non-idealized view.

It's easy for people to think they are right all the time and that they have things all figured out. Well maybe according to their opinion about how things should be. When you come to understand that, it gets a lot easier to accept things.

Open minded means not judgmental about what other people do even if you wouldn't live in that way. Live and let live.
