rightguyforu632 Lisle, IL 40, joined May. 2017	I typically enjoy the drive. It's a great feeling of freedom. What really helps is to make sure to stop every 3 to 4 hours at the minimum n get out of your car and stretch and relax for a bit. I like Interstate driving... especially if it's scenic.

sweettlisa Evansville, IN 52, joined Jul. 2014	Yes I love it going on one end of July about 9 hr drive to Florida then another one first of Oct to NC it's about 6 hr drive,Took a day trip Memorial Day Weekend about 3 hrs one way.I really don't like long road trips. A couple yrs ago we went to Virginia Beach it's like 10 hrs then we went on to Delaware so I could visit family it was like 13 hrs back we stopped part of the way home that's about the longest I would go

We left from Miami and took a southern route heading to California, camping along the way and took a more northern route coming home. I saw the Grand Canyon, painted desert, hiked the narrows at Zion, Carlsbad caverns, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

I do drive for a living. 60,000 miles a year, brake job every year, tires every year, oil change every month, out in all the bad weather especially winter and you can only take the back roads on YOUR time, not the boss' time. I was born to do this, but an awful lot of what you make goes right back into the vehicle. Did I mention you buy gas every day? And you're on high risk insurance no matter how good your record because you put on so many miles every year! You spend more time in the vehicle than you do at home and you have to put up with some insolent, arrogant, bully of a dispatcher and you've got the "office wives" on your case all the time! I must have 6 of them! It's a great job, but there's no time for screwing around. A GPS is a must. The dispatcher can't be guiding you into your destinations all the time, he has to dispatch.

If I have limited time, I will push it and drive for up to 26 hours. If I have time, I will stop at places along the way. Long drives do not bother me.

In a big Tractor Trailer you are much higher than personal vehicles and can see everything in their car. Some people's cars are dirty as hell we catch some picking their nose and kids in the backseat doing stupid shit that their mother can't see.

AAA recommends that you stop every 2 hours or 100 miles of driving(whichever occurs first), and take a 15-minute rest break from driving, to regain your alertness and stretch your muscles. Longest I have ever been abke to drive, non-stop, was 5½ hours, on my trip to North Carolina some years ago. I slept in my Camaro, at a rest stop.
