My best friend, as a kid, had to take a bath in the laundry utility tub in the basement with this ^^^^ stuff. His sister was allowed to bathe in the bathroom tub with Ivory.

We always used ALL detergent until CHEER came onto the grocery shelves.
ALL washed everything:dishes, pots & pans, laundry, vehicles, pets, hair, and even added bubbles for a bubble bath.
Have we really come a 'long way baby' or have we grown greedy and impulsive?

To the best of my knowledge, the flour was White Lily. But if I recall correctly it had stripped dis towels in it.
The dishes were in the detergent and Quaker Oats.
The Dishes were made by the Homer Laughlin China Company of Ohio (now of Ohio and West Virginia).
I have a whole set of Empress Green from my childhood -- collected by my grandmother and great grandmother and passed down to me from my mother.

In another thread, someone said, a gentleman opening a car door for a lady. Is that a thing of the past?
How about this one. Although this is very rare these days, a gentleman ALWAYS walks on the outside/street side of a lady. BUT does anyone remember how/why that originated?
