I understand the ecconomic impact and penalties with social security. But
for some who are in their fifties, there is the health insurance issue, and
benefits that employers only offer to married spouses.
As for me I understand that living together common law...can be the same as
marriage...but for some reason, it would feel like it was a temporary arrangement.
Yes I know..a marriage does not guarantee forever...but it would make me
feel like I belong to and with the other person.

I don't think they have common law marriages anymore do they? I am sure it isn't legal in Indiana and hasn't been for many years and not sure about Tennessee

If I did consider marriage again, we would have to live together for a period of time first. My ex and I dated exclusively for a year before we said "I Do" and I was fooled into believing I knew who he was. But I didn't. Afer all...it's a lot easier to 'get into' than it is 'to get out of'.

Nonickname, a lot of employers are now offering medical insurance to "significant" others, which is also a good thing for those who cannot afford to get "married". Personally, I'd rather find a good, honorable man and get married. I don't know if I could do like the older lady I cleaned for, "live in sin".

Hi Tru: Not really sure, but would like to think it's still a possibility. There was so much in my marriage that I enjoyed and learned from. This aloneness just keeps getting more so as I age. A little scarey.

Would I marry again?
HECK yes!
Why?
1) Because my past marriage experience left a good taste in my life and I treasure that.
2) Because this time around I will marry the "right" man for the "right" reasons.
3) Because is God's promise to me.
But I am in no rush

Never ever never ever ever ever.... I will cohabitate, that wouldn't be very risky for either party when the time comes for leaving, if it did come to that. For sure, hell no.
