I was thinking about this, because I feel like I'm marginally attractive, about a 6 out of 10, maybe a 7 on my best day. But unfortunately right now I have a lot of bills to pay off and even affording a simple dinner date is a financial hardship at this point. This is making it enormously difficult to get past the email stages with girls as I'm being honest about my situation. Even on the rare occasion I do get a date it quickly becomes an issue.
I wonder what my chances would be if I were a few points more attractive, an 8 or 9, but still technically 'broke', would people give me a break about not being able to pay for dates all the time? I could get dates all the time, but they'd probably all eventually leave me when the 'hot guy novelty factor' wore off for a career guy with stable finances because that seems to be womens number 1 priority.
Or if my chances would be even better if I were rich and ugly. I could give girls everything material their hearts desire. I mean, look at Donald Trump, he dates models, they agree to marry him. He's hideous, there is nothing about him they could possibly find attractive. He must know, deep down, it's all a lie, but enjoys their company anyway. I suppose if that was my situation I'd yearn for true love above all else.

I didn't vote because I think this is silly.....
OP.... I actually think you're cute.... and not "marginally attractive". I think your issue may not be with attractiveness but with confidence. You don't sound like your confident enough for the women you find attractive.
There are things one can do on a date that don't cost a lot of money..... use your imagination. (This will be a bit more difficult in the winter.)

How is it silly? It's a struggle for me to get anything started or to keep anything going if I manage to.
Confidence needs substantial reasons behind it - confidence without substance is arrogance. I like to believe that there are women out there who would appreciate me for who I am regardless of financial circumstances. I don't feel that I lack confidence as much as feel lacking in resources to make this whole process easier (possible?) I send confident, detailed emails to women who live close. Maybe they'll reply someday. Until then I'm lonely and yearning for attention and affection.

I'd like to be OK looking and OK financially.
But I notice that's not an option.
I am with a man in your situation. He's not where he wants to be financially, either. Stuff happens and we have to deal with it.
If you don't think you can afford to date, and you don't, then you should not be dating. Not until you come to a place where you are either comfortable with what you can afford or you have paid off what you have and have a little extra for fun.
While we women do want a person to be able to pull his own weight, in this case, when it comes to finances, we, like men, will make exceptions and make due because he has the other things we're looking for and admire.
Like I said the man I'm with is not where he wants to be financially. I end up carrying more of the financial burden. He carries other burdens, so it evens out.

I dont think your problem lies in your lack of finances but rather your diarrhea of the mouth and lack of initiative in finding creative low cost things to do on a date.

Yes, it is. I was beautiful once, and have been offered a thing or two just because of the way I looked. I'm not low enough to have taken any of it or to manipulate anyone for personal gain.

What lousy things to say, you must be an angry, unhappy person to attack me for no reason. Call me stupid and say I've got crap coming out of my mouth, aren't you a charmer. I'm going to guess some guy treated you badly and you come on here to get revenge on our gender. And btw I didn't say I was poor, I said I had a lot of things to pay off.
I do know a number of low or no cost date ideas which I make use of. Thing is, women take note, as I have learned and I can only get away with it for so long in most cases. But thanks for all your helpful examples and positive attitude. Never met a red headed troll before. You must have gotten rammed hard by the billy goat.
