You missed option #3)
folks passing the time by joking about folks with tats
harmless kidding around i.e. horseplay
Can't say I've been "hurt" by any women with tats. The only woman that "hurt" me (ex-wife) didn't have any tattoos. She didn't need any. When we got married she was 5'10", about 115-120 pounds, long blonde hair, 36C bust, and had the face of an angel. She was truly beautiful and didn't need any "improvements" like tats and piercings.

Lol barrydalmi, I mean easy to someone I'm not married to. One guy posted that women with tats and piercings are a sure thing. He is stupid to think that. Your post did make me laugh tho. Thanks for that.

Yes I would I have tattoos I only have two but they are both big but I'm a responsible home owner with a good career. That doesn't use drugs or get drunk. So it depends on the person and what there morals are. And a clean criminal and driving record.

Funches,
You should realise if people are going self harm they will do it regardles of method.
It's still not especially associated to tattoos!
self harm would be associated with "ALL" tattoos (except press ons) since you can not get a tattoo without first having a greater propensity and willingness towards self harm or self mutilation ...
a person may always had a greater propensity towards self harm,.or such a propensity may have suddenly arise due to an emotional or tramatic event
but the point I'm trying to make is that the pain a person has to endure in receiving a tattoo pales in comparison to the pain behind the reasoning as to why one had the need to get a tattoo

Love * if you're only going to spend 50$ on a tattoo its probably going to suck, might as well go see an uncertified amatuer and get it done for free, it'll suck just as much, promise.
Also why does tattoos mean someone doesn't love themselves. One of mine is a tattoo of my sons name, and I got it bc I love him and he changed my life, not bc I hate myself
How much did the tattoo cost?
If you love him why not put that money in a college fund for him? If he's a baby, by time he needs the money it could've doubled (or tripled if interest rates go up).
How does writing his name on your skin signify love? Wouldn't using the tattoo money for private tutoring lessons show love more?
Getting a tat seems selfish - like getting a piece of jewelry to show off to folks.

Quote from iwannadou2"
i think either 1 of 2 things have happened u were scarred deeply by a woman with tatts.
actually,... when I find out a woman has tattoos, I generally hide all the knives so that she can't deeply scar me

I told you i didnt pay for either of my tattoos, I got them for my birthday, the bigger one was about 120 and the smaller one was 60/70$. I guess i couldve asked for the money but i dont think i would have gotten it, they wanted a tatt buddy. I don't see why people keep saying its hurting yourself maybe I have a high pain tolerence or idk. Also my son isn't old enough for a tutor, he gets a lot of attention, and is developing well.

we got a tagger here!! my daughter the artist did that all over Houston, they became like galleries, I "get it" but watch out, the Po Po does NOT like that!! nor the owners of the property sometimes!! I had to take her cans and get her into canvas...
they are beautiful, I helped with a big chalk one down in Lower Westheimer, I enjoy it, actually kind of dig "ancient" graffitti, it hasn't changed much in eons!!
from Rome to Ixtapa it's pretty much sexual or revolutionary....

tattoos don't hurt. How can you assume that they do when you have never gotten one. Your logic is flawed and your argument invalid. So what bridge do you live under so I can avoid the troll?

perhaps the troll you should have avoided was the one that carved their logo into your body

If she were hot, I might date her.
But if she's covered in tasteless tattoos she's definitely not keeper material.
Women with tattoos are great for hit it and quit it scenarios. And they're about as close as you can get to a sure thing.

No wonder my grandmother tells me to remove the metal from my face, she HATES piercings.
On another note. I have yet to see an old man with a sleeve of tattoos. Where do they go? Even at the bar with bikers I never have seen a 60 year old biker with sleeve tats. Maybe I'm not paying attention.
It's like they disappear at 55 or something...
The whole tattoo phenomenon in "popular" culture is a new thing...so you're right, you WON'T find it on people who remember a time when you wouldn't even find tatoos (graffiti) in ghettos, much less human beings.
Tattoos and piercings were seen as the ultimate form of distaste and degradation, even a sign of perversion. Could you imagine Martin Luther King with a nose piercing? Malcolm X with a tatoo of a tear on his face? All the while trying to hold themselves up as upstanding examples of righteous black men of dignity? Well maybe someone in their 20s could try. But we didn't even do that in my time, I'm a 70's-80's kid. All this Sh%t is weird, and scares me away from the otherwise most gorgeous women. Pimps, who know these things well and don't try to imagine excuses/exceptions, find that the easiest girls to pick up to work for them are those with the most tattoos and piercings...FACT
As a sidenote, it was the SLAVE who through history would be known to be branded or have an earring or nosering. But today, as good is called evil & evil called good, to blind the stupid, those in gangs find it a badge of honor to be branded (tattooed) by their masters...the idiots. Many people today do not know that we're living in disastrous times of confusion. So not to name anyone's individual character, but as we DO judge by appearances, and can't do otherwise (not being God), the everyday Joe says these things mean something about people and what is influencing them.

Tattoos have been around for 1,000's of years and have been used by many different cultures to express the use of them.
You are talking in one context try multiple.
In most cultures that used tattoos in the past: they are either a symbol of property (I own this person, usually placed on women unless they used actual slavery) OR as a symbol of honor regarding great warriors. Someone who was not granted one by an elder or chief wouldn't DARE put one on their body in that case, OR they were a shaman. They were NEVER used as a form of "expression" by the general populace, and most civilized societies have (and still do) considered them distasteful since recorded history.

We must read different history books then.
Oh, I forgot criminals. In ancient China, people were sentenced to tattoo their crimes over their face. Some RARE tattoos in china were placed on the back or chest for honor, duty, or as a sign of loyalty.
Some eurasian cultures also practiced it... very rarely for adornment true, but usually again it was associated with criminals, branding, or slavery. Ancient Egyptians also used them, but they were a symbol of status.
Most Tattooings were religious in nature and MEANT something. During the spread of christianity, tattooing was banned; specifically because of its ties to paganism.
The human canvas as an art form is a far more recent adaption.
